I called and spoke with Donald Stratton, who was very patient and a huge help. He saved me $100 and explained a number of other things I had questions about. There was never any pressure or sales pitch. He even stayed with me on the phone and guided me through the payment process to make sure everything went smoothly. When I finally received my computer, it was absolutely perfect and blazing fast right out of the box. There weren't dozens of useless trials and programs installed as is often the case. It only had what I asked for. I've only had it two weeks now, but I haven't had a single problem and don't expect to. Mr. Stratton even sent follow-up emails checking to make sure everything was working. The customer service I received is truly remarkable and I would absolutely recommend Powernotebooks to friends and family. My laptop was expensive in some sense, however, for the power, service, quality, and peace of mind there is no better value out there. As someone who has worked in the sales/service industry for almost 10 years, I would consider myself quite critical of the overall sales/purchasing experience. I am typically very skeptical of commission driven motives to up-sell unnecessary products/services and generally decide what I'm going to buy via personal research and do not consult a sales person.
On this occasion though I did call and speak to Donald at PowerNotebooks prior to ordering my machine and was grateful I did. I hung up more confident in and educated about each of the components of my new laptop as well as excited about a price point roughly 10% less than what I had planned to spend - and this wasn't simply because they were running a sale I didn't know about.
Donald spent over 40 minutes with me, learning about what I planned on using the laptop for and discussing every component from the HDD to the OS to the warranty. Donald actually suggested I downgrade some of the components I had previously selected and provided concrete reasons why the upgrade wouldn't be worth my money.
I guess the best way to describe it was I felt Donald was on the level. I felt like I was consulting a knowledgeable friend about my purchase instead of talking to some used car dealer who was trying to make a quick buck and move to the next guy. Donald made some other great suggestions like a third party insurance plan for theft/accidental damage which I hadn't considered, and buying an extra power supply which has already made things more convenient as he suggested it would.
After the money changed hands, I received a 'thank you' email, a shipping confirmation email with tracking information, and finally a follow up email once the laptop had been delivered asking how I liked the machine so far. A link to this review site was in one of the emails I received.
This really was a great purchasing experience for me overall. The product is solid, the service was great and I am 100% sure I got the best price out there for what I bought - believe me, I put in a lot of research. Thanks again to Donald and PowerNotebooks.com!"

"The Intel vPro Notebook I got from Power Notebooks is state of the art (maybe for quite a few years). I got WinXP on it with all the latest features like WiFi 5300AGN (!), Intel P8600 Power saver processor (adjustable performance/power savings), 1066MHz FSB, Port Replicator, low latency ram, 3Gb/s Sata II hd, 9 cell backup battery,10 numeric pad on keyboard, Very intelligent mousepad, and everything works perfect on MSI top of the line box with every feature. And with Intel vPro, it is a faultless system in a class by its own.
With WinXP and WiFi 5300agn (VERY hard to find) combo, you may never have to pay for wireless Internet: lots (and lots) of range available and fast! So far, up and downloads sampled on wireless are incredible and most beat my 3Mb/s dsl at home!
Power Notebooks not only had all the features no one else had, but it was near half the price of large name brands with only MOST of the same features (and Vista). Power Notebooks were only one of two custom builders I could find who had this box featured with XP as an option (without other critical options!).
But I chose Power Notebooks for all the intangible qualities of a Custom Laptop Market Leader: total service, best options, lowest price, and high volume expertise. Just compare any box to this one, talk it over with Power Notebooks expert sales, and they will catch you up on any technology areas needed. Then look until your eyes bleed and I doubt you will find a better deal. All things considered, this combination of Power Notebooks and MSI vPro (PR621) box has no equals in my opinion. "I ordered my Sager 7280 (hex core and 2 GTX 485m SLI cards) on Monday March 21, 2011. The computer arrived on Tuesday April 5, 2011. The delay was due to a Sager backorder, but was not a problem The machine is rock solid and absolutely stunning. Preliminary benchmarks are the highest I've measured for a notebook computer and I have found no fault with anything up to this point... and I'm a VERY discriminating user. Donald Stratton was my salesperson and he was amazingly helpful, friendly, and professional I have NO doubt that if I have any issues or problems, they will be handled quickly and competently.
By the way, this is my second purchase from Donald... and based on his service and support, I will not hesitate to purchase a 3rd computer when the time arrives!

"I recently made a purchase from this vendor. I found them through an off website/forum for Sager laptops. I chose them based on price/product selection. I didn't read about them on reseller ratings before I decided to make my purchase, but after reviewing the comments left here post purchase I realized I had made a good choice.
Overall my experience was very good. The order process was easy. The website was very easy to understand. My first concern was when I was asked for my telephone number for order confirmation. I am currently stationed in the UK (USAF) and telephone confirmations usually don't work out too well due to the number differences and time differences; however, the immediate response from customer service made the process very easy. I spoke with Donald from beginning to end of my order. He was up front and very fast in any question I had. My order shipped and arrived to me in excellent condition. The system had ZERO bloatware that you usually get from most name brand retailers which saved a ton of time from having to unistall worthless programs/reinstall the OS. Even after I have received my computer Donald and the staff at Power Notebooks continue the excellent customer service. I will definitely buy from this retailer the next time I need a computer (which won't be for a little while as I got a great gaming laptop). "

I put together the information I gathered about what I would like to have in a laptop, and I shopped and learned, then shopped and learned some more.
I haven't been in the computer buying market since I built my sons desktop years ago, so I needed to learn a bit in order to choose and buy wisely. I am no sage, but I have had some experience with other computer assemblers, both large and small, and the least pleasant was with (rhymes with well). I shuddered when my son started dropping hints about their notebooks (like he saw advertised on TV and in their ads everywhere) before Christmas last year, so I started the hunt and found PN to be the best.
My son was not convinced that we should go with anyone but a big name brand, so I showed him the price/feature comparison of four or five online assemblers including the "big boys", the products, as well as the standard and extended warranties. I then showed him the overwhelmingly positive reviews for PowerNotebooks on Resellerratings.com (and we looked at good and not so good, almost ALL of them).
Our first purchase was a Sager 5791, 17" gaming laptop (for him). We were both smitten, and it has been in use almost continually for the last year! Just a few days ago (about a year later) I received my own laptop, a smaller (15.4") but no less capable PowerPro 15.3. It is as much or more than I expected.
Recently, I needed to use the support center for a DVD R/RW problem on the Sager. Donald, Travis and Daniel are all knowledgeable, capable and easy to talk to, in what I know is hardly ever the best of situations. And they do it 24/7.
I have recommended this company to my friends, and I would buy from them again in a heartbeat. This is a small company, doing all the right things, and doing them well. "
