Great Customer Service

"I ordered an oversized range that needed an extended vent, however upon arrival the vent had been slightly damaged. I called customer service took a picture of the damage and they immediately sent a new extended vent out. The range and vent look amazing and I would definately recommend ProLine to anyone looking for a range.

ProLine range hood products deserve wide recognitions!

"We bought a 46" range hood for our kitchen almost a year and half ago. Recall it was described as a product for commercial application, e.g. restaurant, but we went for it because we had an aesthetic appreciation for its design and looks. It works well; quiet and easy to clean. Needless to say, we have been very pleased with it. We did compare prices before our purchase, ProLine's were competitive, and we believe we're getting more (features wise) for the money. Both our installation contractor and friends were impressed by the product's looks and features too. "

No customer service

"I contacted their customer service for some basic information about the make up air I would need to accompany their hood system. The customer service representative, Harmoni, was so rude I could not believe it. She did not answer any questions without me pulling teeth and ended up telling me to basically just go to another company."

Super 60" Range Hood!

"We've had our 60" ProLine range hood for over 2 years and it continues to work like new. We needed a larger 60" hood to mount over our large commercial-style range and oven unit. This hood fits the space and the exhaust volume is excellent for a hood in this price range. Even though we have it mounted in a residential kitchen (we're a bed and breakfast - hence the commercial-sized range), it looks good and operates at a very low noise level. The initial installation was relatively straight forward, but probably a bit much for the average homeowner/handyman (mostly due to the sheer size and weight, not the complexity). That said, the instructions were clear and detailed and easy to follow. We like the dual light positions - don't use the rear sockets for heat lamps, but just for auxiliary lighting. Overall a good value for the $$$ and highly recommended. "

Profit over Easter

"Worst company in the construction industry. After receiving a damage hood and reporting it within the 14 day period, I was told my customer was going to have to do without a hood for the Easter Holiday weekend. We completed their dream kitchen with the hood being the last item. On the Thursday before Easter, we went to install the hood and found the damage. We called customer service and were told if we attempted to install the damaged hood that they would not accepted it for return. So my clients had guests for the weekend with an incomplete kitchen, or install the damaged hood and eat the cost of a new hood. We installed the damaged hood and ordered a new one from a different supplier. Unlike Proline Range Hoods, I value the satisfaction of my customer. "

Product Appears "OK" but not More

"When I ordered the fan I advised that I knew nothing about an island fan. I was told that all I would need to buy in addition was a ten inch pipe for the attic and a roof mount vent. So, I ordered the up-graded vent and my contractor went to install the product. After he installed the flange that supports the unit, he pointed out that it was only 7 inches in diameter and would not permit use of a ten inch pipe. I called Proline and was told I should use flex pipe to go through the support flange to reduce the size to seven inches. So, go from a ten inch pipe to flex 7" (or less) and then back to ten? Anyway, we cut out the flange support to ten inch diameter because we were not going to reduce it to less than seven inches which made no sense. Then we get to the roof where the vent requires a 12" pipe. More fun to get a transition pipe from 10" to 12". I was told nothing of any of this at the time I asked questions and ordered ("you'll only need to provide ten inch pipe"). That was just plain sloppy and lousy engineering and planning all-around.
The foregoing was after waiting for two weeks for the fan arrive without the flange and the roof vent. Oops, they forgot to send the third package. In fairness, they got them to me in two days. The 12" vent on the roof appears to work well (without being tested for its actual use since the kitchen is not ready for the same) and is relatively quiet at all speeds (relatively speaking). I am very glad I did not listen to them and crimp my vent pipe to seven inches or less at the top of the fan to fit the flange they provided. The fan itself looks good and will, I hope, work properly.
Proline does not provide any reasonable installation instructions except to give you a picture of a pipe going through an attic. Nor do they advise of the limitations and challenges that what they provide will entail. Nor do they advise of miserable engineering needing a reduction of pipe from ten to seven inches then back to ten to twelve.
If I had known of the problems in the unit I received, I would have bought another brand but, now that it's instalIed, I cannot say that I am dissatisfied with the result.

Great range hood!

"I've been using the same range hood for years now and it still works great! It's not as loud as other range hoods and the range hood itself looks very modern and high tech."

Very nice looking but very loud!!

"I purchased a Proline PLJW 120.48 Range Hood. It was well packaged and is a very attractive unit. I had it installed by my contractor and was so excited to turn it on. I was very surprised that the lowest setting is so very loud, although everything I read said it was "385 CFM - the quietest setting in the industry". It has 5 settings, and I did expect the upper levels to be louder due to the necessary blower power, however I didn't expect the lowest setting to be so loud. Even my contractor mentioned it was much louder than he expected. There isn't anything that gives me an idea how to quiet it - whether my lubricating something or whatever. It looks very sharp, but that wasn't why I bought it - - a bit disappointed."

Damaged Hood

"My builder stated he was ready for the hood and asked for me to order it and have it delivered to his business. As most builders do they order supplies early so they are not delayed in the building process. The builder opened the box and found one corner of the hood damaged. He notified me and took pictures. When I contacted ProLine they stated I was past the fourteen day limit on reporting damaged items. My builder went to install the hood 33 days after receipt. After a few call from me ProLine did offer to sell me another hood for 33% off or $1,000 plus shipping. Currently I have a $1500 hood installed with a huge dent in the corner. If you deal with ProLine make sure you inspect everything you receive as soon as it is delivered! They will not cover anything if they can get out of it. "

Concerns and Confusion About Fit of Grease Filters

"I purchased a 42-inch island hood (Pro VI.42) in November of 2016. It arrived promptly and was very well packaged, but had no printed installation instructions in the package. All installation instructions must be accessed through ProLine's website. Installation was not very easy, but I doubt that any island hood is very easy to install and every installation is likely a bit different. During installation, I discovered that the transition piece for connecting the hood to the exhaust duct was the wrong size. ProLine immediately sent me a correctly sized replacement as soon as I advised them of the problem. After installation, as I installed the grease filters, I noticed that the spacers provided to make up the gap between their standard size grease filters and the remaining gap of the hood envelope did not fit very well. There were large gaps between the spacers and the hood envelope. I sent a photo of the installed spacers to ProLine by email, asking if I had installed the filters correctly. ProLine's response was that the spacers I had received were the incorrect spacers for the 42-inch unit and that they were ordering replacement filters for me and that it might take a while to get the spacers from the factory in China. Five months later, I contacted ProLine again to inquire on the status. I was informed that they would be shipping my replacements shortly. One month later I contacted ProLine again to inquire about the shipping status. I was informed (by very nice people who seemed honestly anxious to please) that the package of replacement filters had been lost by FedEx and they would send a new package out promptly. When I finally got the replacement filters (6 months after my original query), it was immediately clear that these replacement filters were much smaller than the original filters and left even bigger gaps than the original. In contacting ProLine again, I was told that I had again been provided the wrong size filters and that the proper filters would be shipped immediately. A week later, I contacted ProLine again and was again helped by a nice person who had trouble verifying that any new replacement filters had been shipped to me. This time photos of the "proper" filters were emailed to me with a tape measure along side the filters to help us verify what size the spacers should be. Amazingly, the dimensions matched the spacers that had originally been sent to me with the unit. So, apparently ProLine designed their filters and spacers with an intentional gap that will allow the exhaust gases and suspended grease to bypass the filters. ProLine's representatives have profusely apologized for the confusion in their communications and, to their credit, I compliment their customer service representatives honestly attempted to address this issue. I think the problem lies with the disinterest of the shipping department, the warehouse, or the designers to thoughtfully address the original query and give correct answers to their customer service representatives about the issue I raised. Given my concerns about the spacers gaps and the confusing communications with ProLine about whether I had the "correct" spacers, I would probably not order from ProLine again."

Happy again!

"I had my hood only 1 year then the machine broke down. It's still under warranty. I called the customer service and spoke to Tess Taufer. She identified that the issue was the circus board then she told me that she would follow up with me through email or phone call. One month later, there were no sign of Tess. I had to contact Sarah Simonsen the Proline Social Media Manager to follow up. After another month went by and through multiple emails, I finally got the new circus board and did the replace. The same issue still occurred. I took the pictures of the two circus boards and contacted Tess but there is no sign of her. I then had to contact Sarah. She connected me to the proline support center. They told me that I have the wrong circus board and offer no solution. It has been more than three months now. There is no sign of my hood being soon. For now, it is a piece of shinny metal junk in the middle of my kitchen.

Update: After my dissatisfied review, the company contacted me and sent out a new hood as a replacement; however, they didn't pay for the reinstatement. I had a custom installment before and I have to pay it again for the replacement. It works again. I am happy with it.
