"Awsome customer service and ships quick and arrives fast! Haven't installed it yet but will rate it as soon as I do."
"!!!POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Apologies for what is sure to be a LONG review, but I am personally wary of "venting" bad reviews so wanted to explain the story in detail to be of maximum use to all reading...
In short, use CAUTION when considering doing business with ProLine Range Hoods...
- Do not rely on anything that you are told verbally. Details below.
- An email indicating a FedEx tracking number has been "queued" doesn't mean it's about to ship
- IF you do business with them...CHECK your order in detail when received!!!
- IF you order, and there are problems, you need an eternity to get them fixed. If you don't have that eternity - DON'T ORDER.
That's it in a nutshell, but read on for the more detailed version of why I feel this way.
I was drawn to ProLine because of their reasonable prices for a seemingly quality hood our summer kitchen installation. I purchased the Pro Series 54" model w/ Chimney Extensions. I specifically called and verified the components and ordering process. At that time, I was told if the online order was placed that day (3/5) - which I did - the item would ship on Thursday. I hadn't heard about tracking information, so I called back the following Tuesday. I was then told it wasn't going to ship until the end of the week because "We didn't have a shipment last week." Long story short - the shipment didn't arrive until 3/25.
We went to install the hood on 4/11 - which was the first available time my contractor could be rescheduled after the LONG ship time. When we opened the box...NO CHIMNEY EXTENSIONS! There was no damage on the box and therefore no reason to open until we were ready to install, or so we thought. I called ProLine the same day and was told that the extensions would have to be manufactured and would be sent expedited shipping the following Monday at the latest (4/15). Trying to learn from the previous shipping fiasco, I called when the "queued" FedEx tracking number hadn't been updated by the following Wednesday. I was told (by Kelsey) that the warehouse manager was out, so she'd talk to him on his return and call me back. Repeat this call and story EVERY DAY since ... never a call back. Still trying to work it out so I can finally get the hood finished. We're not even talking about the functionality yet!!!!
This is the first negative review I have ever written - that's how frustrated I am. At this point, I am completely at their mercy because the main body of the hood is already installed. Not a good feeling! Wanting to save others the grief if possible.

"I ordered this hood when I saw what looked to be the exact hood in a showroom at a tile shop. I had seen pictures online, but thought the price was too reasonable to be for real... The unit in the showroom had great buttons and I was able to turn the fan on and hear a stunningly quiet fan running.
I took the chance and ordered my fan from ProLine... When it arrived, I plugged it in and instantly had a big grin on my face! This was the same unit, indeed, and operation and lighting was fantastic. The fan is extremely quiet and pumps a very large volume of air through its six speed controller. The LED lights are bright and run cool.
What I didn't notice, though, was that the chimney sheet metal was damaged during shipment. There was a small ding in both sections of the sheet metal, and it was extremely noticeable when we hung the unit just last week. Even though I didn't report this damage until after the 14 day initial warranty period, the very courteous staff at ProLine honored my claim and is sending me replacement chimney sheet metal.
With such an excellent product at such an incredible price, I am very happy to recommend ProLine for their product quality and customer service!! My only reduced mark would be in the shipping, since my original product was slightly damaged.
I recommend careful inspection upon initial receipt of your order. Keep in mind that any ding on the stainless steel will be very noticeable. Getting that replaced right away(if it is damaged), will make for an easier experience.
With the replacement chimney, I am excited to report that the contemporary look and outstanding quality of operation exceeds my expectations."
"Purchased and installed a P109 serier hood in 2010. It has excellent performance and has worked flawlessly. Recently the switch for the auxiliary lamps failed. I called Proline and spoke with Danielle to see if they stocked replacement parts.
She said they had the part and even though the hood warranty had expired she would send me one for no cost. She also did not charge me for shipping. I installed the new switch and everything is working fine. Very happy with the hood and the customer service."
" I ordered a 36" Professional Under Cabinet Hood with Remote (PLFW 115.36). It came with a good packaging, and easy to use installation instruction. When I had technical questions, the support department personnel was very patient to provide the answers and helped resolve my issue in a timely manner. You are a true customer oriented, reliable, and professional Range Hood vendor, standing behind your Good Quality Products and 100% Satisfaction Guaranty policy. We moved to 3 different houses in the past 20 years and had used many different range hoods. This one is the best we ever had in terms of real high power CFM with low noise, and professional stream line outlook design. I would recommend your products to my friends whoever need a high quality hood. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much.

"I placed my order for a 36" wall mount 900 CFM hood late December 2012. Received mid January 2013. I opened the box and inspected it. It was packaged very well and I did not see any damage. The chimney hood even had plastic coating to prevent scratching.
My hood was installed by my contractor in early Feburary. It seemed to work well but had a strange loud noise when I would turn it off. After several phone calls to ProLine Support, it was determined that the blower needed to be tightened. I was instructed to remove the cages on each side of the blower and tighten the knobs inside. It was extremely difficult to remove the cages as access to the top screws holding the cage on needed a special tool. After removing the cages, we found no knobs. We ended up sending pictures to ProLine and were then instructed to hire a contractor to come fix it. Finding a contractor was not easy as they only work on brands they are familiar with. (we are located in the Washington, DC area) Long story short, we did find a contractor to tighten the blower. They needed to drop the fan unit to do so.
WE WERE REIBBURSED THE $129 FEE the contractor charged us. (As a side note, we offered to return the unit but that option was not available as the unit was already installed. We were told that we should have tested the unit before installation. I think they should put a big piece of paper in the packaging stating "TEST BEFORE INSTALLING" these words are burried within the instructions but you really need to look for it. Not obvious)
Bottom line. We are thrilled with the function and look of the unit. Would recommend the PLFW 129J.36."
"We love the hood. The 600 cfm fan is enough to drive fumes out the 6-inch semi rigid duct that I fished through the ceiling between the first and second floors of our house. The only issue I encountered is that the web site says that the hood is for 7-8 foot ceilings and the manual says it's for 7 1/2 to 8 foot ceilings. Fortunately, I have access to a metal shop and was able to get the chimney cut to length. (We have a 7' soffit above the hood.). Shipping time was fine -- I have been spoiled by Amazon Prime, so anything less than immediate seems slow by comparison, but the shipping time was very reasonable. The hood workmanship seems excellent and I think it's a great value, especially comparing it to Broan and some of the other big name players in the residential hood market."
"Great experience. Our Proline range hood added the finishing touch to our kitchen remodel. The hood was shipped quickly and arrived in excellent condition. Installation was easy with the supplied directions. The LED lights are great and provide a good contrast to the soft white undercabinet led lights we installed. Customer service, quality of hood, value for money are all excellent. Thank you for a wonderful online buying experience.

"Great experience, actually. Great price on a beautiful 36" ProV Chimney Wall Hood. We got it within one week of ordering. I inspected it and there was no damage at all. Packaged very well and nothing was missing. Then I boxed it back up and stored it until we were ready because we gutted and redid the entire kitchen ourselves on the weekends as we could. As you can tell by the order date (April, 2012) we took awhile to get to the range hood.
However, we finally did it in November and I wanted to live with it for a bit before doing the review. Almost three months of flawless work. Dimmable lights, adjustable fan - very powerful (900cfm max) and surprisingly quiet with it's inline fan and the 10" pipe we used (for anybody doing the project themselves - I highly recommend semi-rigid flexible pipe - godsend to work with in our situation. Remember though - semirigid which is all metal. Not the plastic/mylar stuff. That's not code.) It's beautiful and looks fantastic in our kitchen. I wish I could add pictures but I don't see that option.
My only complaint is the lack of directions on the electrical hook up. Nothing in the included paperwork, nothing online and I really am good at finding that stuff. There was plenty on how to install it otherwise, just nothing at all on the electrical. My father in law is a very experienced licensed electrician and he was stumped for about 15 minutes, which is saying something. After some experiments, he figured it out. His comment was that nothing in the guts of it says "UL listed" which some electricians will not even work with. Now you have to understand that he didn't see anything inherently wrong with the wiring or think anything looked suspect. He would have rewired it himself had that been the case. It was just a little confusing, mostly because they had no instructions for the electrical at all. Actually, that's not completely true - the blower itself had instructions on how to wire the control/power to it, just there was nothing about wiring it to the controls, if that makes sense.
Note: This was with a remote inline blower with a variable control. I'm fairly certain we would have had zero problem with a local blower because you just have to have a receptacle to plug it into and they have videos to show how you do that.
Conclusion - beautiful, very well built, very functional, well-priced product that was easy to install if not somewhat confusing to wire. "
"Disappointing response to damage out of box.
I ordered a hood several months ago, and the hood has been waiting for the remodel to progress to the point of install for the hood. My contractor just took the hood out of the box and the chimney had a dent and scuff marks indicating it was damaged in the package. I figured, no problem, call the manufacturer and have them replace the chimney that was damaged in the box. Their response: that'll be $99.95. The website says you have 14 days of warranty on the product. Pretty shoddy for something many people are going to have to sit on while their remodel moves along. I would recommend staying clear of this company as they do not appear interested in customer satisfaction or standing behind their products.
Regarding the discount that was offered, it seems quite surprising that the chimney would be 25% of the total product cost. That does not seem like a discount to me. As far as the product being onsite for 3 months, it was stored in its box in the garage (out of elements) and had nothing placed on top of it as I was conscientious of the fragile nature of this, or any, appliance. The same was true for the oven, glass cooktop, and dishwasher. We had a problem with a tub leak in the dishwasher once it was installed (2 months into the process), and the retailed shipped us a replacement unit no questions asked. That is the level of customer satisfaction I expect from appliance manufacturers and retailers. Clearly I didn't pay enough attention to the 14-day rule or the other many complaints against ProLine, so I guess I have to learn a lesson the hard way.
Finally, I re-read the product warranty. As I read it, there is a 2-year warranty on "electrical and other components" against malfunction or defect. The warranty further states that the purchaser must contact ProLine within 10 days of discovery of a defect to satisfy the warranty. I discovered the chimney damage today, contacted today, and am within 2 years of product purchase. I don't get how this is not supposed to be covered as a defect within the warranty stipulations."
"*”*”WARNING*”*BE AWARE”*” anyone doing business with PROLINERANGEHOODS.com should consider another company= bought range hood in August 2012, renovating- Professionally installed in august by licensed electrician. Electrician could not get it to work.
It never has worked!!! PROLINERANGEHOODS.com has given me the run around for months.
SUPPORT TOLD ME TO TAKE THE FILTERS OFF AND FIND THE FUSE AND REPLACE IT. THERE ARE NO FUSES - ITS A COMPUTER BOARD/DIGITAL.
PROLINERANGEHOODS.com said would ship new computer board- I never received it. After questioning their shipping they would send a new one. PROLINERANGEHOODS.com sent a new touch pad (not the board we discussed)- I had to install it (ASKED FOR REPAIR MAN TO INTALL/FIX BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYONE, SAID WAS EASY TO INSTALL) - touch pad was not the problem.
I asked for the new board that I never received in November 2012. Its been 8 weeks and now PROLINERANGEHOODS.com says it will be another 2 weeks as of 1-16-2013. I have never been treated so badly with any product I have ever bought- ONLINE OR IN STORE.
Its been since August 2012 (install) and I've yet to have my $600+ rangehood work. PROLINERANGEHOODS has sent one wrong part for ME TO INSTALL to fix the failure to work.
ITS NOW JANUARY 16TH 2013 and I still have to wait for a part that may never come.
BTW- When I called 1-16-2013 a girl answered the phone, I asked for support- she was support. She said the board was ordered 12-25-2012. It was discussed to send new board in November but they ordered it on Christmas day?!?!? :)
During this delay several times I had asked by email for an update on a two week delivery that’s now been 6+ weeks and I’ve yet to receive a reply.
This company is a JOKE!!! Save yourself the hassle BUY FROM ANOTHER COMPANY!!!

Oh yea - you are probably wondering why I just did not return this catastrophe. I had waited too long to test it after receiving it.
PROLINERANGEHOODS return policy- report any shipping damage within 14 days. I had no shipping issues.
After 14 days:
You will pay a 20% restocking fee. You will pay for returned shipping and must insure the item.
No refunds after 30 days. No refunds on installed hoods, custom cut hoods, or custom cut chimneys.
Unfortunately It was after 30 days before it was installed and tested.
CONTINUED FROM 1-16-2013
Received the board Saturday February 2nd but it does not match the board inside of the vent hood. Took photos of original board still connected and an image of shipped board. Emailed each IMAGE to Proline on Monday February 4th ASKING FOR ADVICE ON THE CONNECTIONS. I just received response from Proline February 11th that they were to turn over the issue to a manager. It took a week to review the email. Coming up on 6 months and still do not have a working vent hood.

"I ordered a 36" island range hood from ProLine on January 6th and received it on January 10 - in perfect shape and working great. I also ordered a set of charcoal filters, which did not arrive. I called customer service this morning, spoke to a very pleasant lady (Danielle) - who picked up the phone on the first ring and said she would ship them out today. My only complaint was that I had been looking for a long time for this hood as I wanted dimmable LED lights - not halogen. The video does say this hood had that feature. When I ordered I sent along a note asking about this as the spec sheet said something totally different. Well, they are not dimmable lights, but it's ok. I'm tired of looking. I was pleased with the service. I thought their videos were very helpful."
"I believe this is a scam so stay away from proline range hoods wherever that company is. Ordered a hood a whole month ago from their fancy website, nothing has been received as of today. Called the toll free # numerous times during past 4 weeks, only one time a woman picked up telling me with an attitude that it took at least 20 days to ship the product. It's been 30 days, nothing happened, except that they charged my credit card immediately after I orderred online. Can never reach anyone there again by phone. I had to call my credit company to report the scam. Oh I did received an email today 12/31/12 from proline saying something like "your order will be shipped by the end of the week or beginning of next" which most likely is a lie. Even if I do receive it, now I knew it would be a piece of crap anyway so I wrote back to cancel it (no one answers the phone but looks they are hiding there to respond emails). Worst online purchase experience ever. So be cautious and do some research (for real customer reviews not their own 5/5 stars fake ones) before ordering anything from Proline Range Hoods. It's a scam, period."
"30" Wall Range Hood PLFW 129j.30. Delivered as promised without delay. Packacging was good and product arrived without sctatches.
Daniele A of Prohoods even called me to check out if we needed assistance in installation. The unit installed easily (as per my contractor). The unit runs perfectly and very quiet compared to the old one it replaced. The touch controls, the led lights, and the oveall look of the unit are definitely 5 stars. Customer service (particularly Danelle) deseves 5 stars too."
"What a horrible company to do business with. Since not receiving any type of notification on the progess of my order, I called to inquire and was told the model I ordered that was in stock were all damaged. They offered to substitute a similar model that would ship that day. I accepted since I need the vent hood to finish my project. I received tracking information via email the following day which showed it was scheduled for pickkup by fedex. Three weeks later and multiple phone calls later, the range hood still shows to be sitting on their dock. They can never give you an answer and always have to call you back, but no one ever does. Their management is always out of the office. AVOID DISAPOINTMENT AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE."
“We have tried to contact you multiple times to try to resolve this. Our records show that the hood was delivered to you within a few days of providing you the tracking number to you. You have posted another review about not receiving a refund. We will not be providing a refund since the product was delivered. Please contact us so we can resolve this problem. Thank you!”
A rep from ProLine Range Hoods, Proliner, has responded:
“Unfortunately, we do have policies and procedures we need to follow. If you would have called in within the 14 days we could have had this picked up and taken care of with our shipping company. Even when customers call in and it has been 30 days we always try to meet halfway with customer on the cost, as we did with you. We offered a discounted price on the chimney and also free shipping, even though it has been so long. You have had your hood and chimney on the job site for over three months. We understand that appliances are sometimes not installed as soon as you receive them. But, we also know that when appliances sit at a job site they are moved around a lot and that can lead to them being dropped or smashed by other packages that are also waiting to be installed. That is why we have it stated on our website to take it out of the box and check for damages. At this point we do not know if the damage occurred during transit to you or while it was sitting at the job site. Your hood is covered for 14 days for shipping damage and comes with a one year warranty for labor and a two year warranty for parts. If you have any questions on warranty and returns, please feel free to call us at 877-901-5530. Thank you!”
