"This was the second time in a month that our son damaged his phone. Both times the representatives from Protectcell were amazingly friendly and helpful. The phones were delivered in record time to our son's college dorm. The process was so easy. The phone call was answered immediately, with no time on hold which is unheard of today. The only downfall was the cost to replace the phones. $150 for the first replacement and $200 for the second. Otherwise the overall experience was flawless."

"I used protect cell to replace my note 2 the price is usually cheaper than replacing the phone. The customer service is good and the phone arrived quickly however activation using the supplied sim card was difficult I used my old phones sim card and that worked not a big problem but a little annoying. Overall it was what insurance usually is overpriced if you don't need it cheap if you do."

"What a scam! I paid $139.99 for a two year plan for a phone I purchased five months ago. When I was ready to upgrade I called the company to ask how much they would pay me using their "buy back" plan so I could compare it with Verizon's $100 offer for my old phone. According to the rep who sold me the plan I should have been able to receive 50% of the retail price of the phone. Like another disgruntled customer said, the representatives on the phone kept saying that only "corporate" could answer this question. I was told "corporate" would call me back. They never did. It took me forever to reach "corporate" and when I did I was told that I would get a quote by email in 7-10 days! They also asked me to fax the receipt of the phone I bought five months ago and that they wouldn't be beholden to the quote until they saw my phone. I believe they never intend to honor their buy back promise and put up these obstructions to discourage the buy back. Moreoever, the Verizon retail reps who push this product over the standard Verizon Wireless Assurian product completely misrepresent both the product they're trying to push as well as Assurian. I'm getting a new phone and will never use Protectcell again."

"The good: The process was extremely simple and fast. The person on the phone was helpufl and friendly. The bad: we discussed shipping to my house instead of my office so in case there was a shipping delay, i would get the phone on Saturday (if not Friday) - but he did not select "Saturday delivery ok" so it was a major hassle to pick it up before Monday. The Ugly: Apple informed me that since these units are refurbished with no IMEI number on the back, they would not be supported by Apple in case of software or hardware issues. (this was NOT told to me when i bought the service)."
