"Overall my experience was ok. I had ran over my phone on New Year's Eve after deer hunting. I called on New Year's Day to get the process started but they were closed for the holiday. I was able to contact them on the morning of the 2nd (Thursday), the receptionist was very helpful and claim quickly and very politely. She said I would receive my replacement on Monday. When I asked about getting it sooner due to work related reasons, she upgraded my shipping to fedex next day priority and was told I would receive it Friday. It didn't come till Monday anyway. 5 days is a long time for me to go without my customers being able to get a hold of me.
The price of the service may seem high as well. You can purchase a similar warranty thru square trade for $99 with $99 deductible ($200) where protect cell cost me $200 plus an $150 deducible on the first use, then $200 each addition use of the service. From what I can see the major differences is protect cell covers lost phones and square trade will only accept 4 claims while protect cell has unlimited claims. Also protect cell offers a phone buyback program and identity theft protection through life lock that others do not so with that said the price is reasonable.
With that said, all other areas of the process were positive. The replacement phone was the same model, same color, seemed to be New or like new and the phone works flawlessly. The customer service (except being closed when I needed them the most) was exceptional.

"I must say this was very simple. I lost my phone. I went to the Verizon shop that we had purchased our phones from about a year ago. Told the ladies there what happened & let them know we had gotten the insurance plan on all 3 products we purchased. I then gave them my insurance info , they made a phone call , this was on Fri Jan 3rd & on Mon Jan 6th I had my new replacement phone. Yes I had to pay a charge for the replacement phone but it was about $600 less than buying a new phone out right. I was so glad we had insurance. I was hesitant about paying the startup charge for this insurance thinking I have never broken a phone so what are the chances I will now... Well, only two months after having my phone it fell out of my pocket onto its back a cement floor. The whole screen cracked (even had a case on it that I had purchased from the Verizon store.) The phone still worked for about a week and then it started to act up.
I called ProtectCELL's customer service and immediately was able to talk to a representative. He was very helpful and also friendly. The replacement phone cost $150 which was much better than the $700 I would have had to pay for a new phone from Verizon. I wasn't aware that these phones used as replacements were refurbished, but that would be to blame on my Verizon sales representative for not filling me in on that when purchasing ProtectCELL. However, refurbished phone should work just as well as a new phone.
It was a Thursday afternoon when I called in my request for a replacement phone and received it Tuesday morning. I received many confirmation e-mails as well as a FedEx tracking number. Was thankful for the communication and fast shipping.
HOPEFULLY I won't HAVE to make any more claims with ProtectCELL, but if I do I know that it will be a simple process, which is very relieving. "
"I purchased a Protectcell insurance plan on my Note 3. Some how the plan was never registered on their system. Then 3 weeks later I finally got my phone ordered. After waiting 5 days for the phone they sent me the wrong color phone. After calling their "customer service" who helps no one and sends you to their corporate "customer service" for every question because they have no clue how to answer any questions, I was directed to a woman who's only response was "that was in the policy and we can not help you." Great answer after waiting on hold for 25 min. to talk to someone. They have gotten all the money they will ever get from me. As a verizon customer Asurion is the only way to go. This company is trash and customer satisfaction is not their goal."

"My daughter's phone was stolen, it was almost new. I called ProtectCell and they said they would replace it with another phone, they were pleasant and helpful. I assumed it would be a new phone. 3 days later it arrived (over Christmas) so not bad. No instructions, a used phone in bubble wrap, and I had to pay $125 in "Administrative Fees". The used phone gets very hot and has already stopped working twice. I requested a new phone and will receive it in 2 working days. ProtectCell has a warranty of 1 year for phone replacements and they were very willing to work with my situation. I am upgrading my original review.

Kept me updated throughout the entire process with numerous emails. The only thing was that my white iPhone was replaced with a black iPhone. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things; a working phone is better than no phone at all. I just assumed that replacing my "exact" phone meant the color too. However, this will not hinder me from doing business with this company. My coverage is up in a month and I fully plan on renewing before that time for additional coverage. "when I went to my cell phone company and ask for the insurance plan for my phone that I lost, the customer service was really great. We had to call back 3 times and each time we got a different person in each person is really helpful. but the only thing was is when I asked to get my phone express shipped for a specific date I did not receive it till the next day because of the fact that you guys use FedEx instead of ups. FedEx left a notice asking for a signature when I needed my cell the first day they came."
"WOW! I can't say enough about this. Through my cell company, it was a promotional 1 year period, thinking I'd never need it. Well, give a pre-teen a cell phone and chances are, you just might. Within a month, my daughter dropped her cell rendering it unusable. I submitted an online claim on 12/6. Within an hour, I had a phone call and 2 emails from Protectcell for getting this taken care of! We worked through the details of the phone type, etc. and within 30 minutes, I had a tracking number of the new phone being shipped out. I received the phone Tuesday, 12/10, looking all fabulous in the Protectcell packaging. Also included was detailed instructions and a return bubble envelope to return the old cell. I ran over to my cell phone provider, activated the new phone and viola! Excellent customer service, friendly staff - I can't say enough good things about this! For a trial period, this is worth renewing now since I just got the iPhone 5C and well, crap happens. "

As I was exchanging my grand-daughter's phone, I didn't always have the needed information in front of me and that complicated things a bit at first. But delivery was quick and convenient.
