"I have had Protectcell for about one year and have had to use it twice. They have been very helpful. The second time I had to pay the deductible again, and will be refunded when they realize no water or physical damage to the phone. While I don't like having to pay again, I get it. The alternative is to wait 5 days for my phone to verify no damage before they shipped the replacement. No can do. Overall good customer service and the replacement phone was exactly what I expected. Easy return instructions for old phone."

"I got great customer service. Submitting the claim was super easy and the folks on the 1 800 line were friendly and helpful. My phone arrived quickly....only one bummer....it was the wrong color! No deal breaker there....just missed my cobalt blue phone!"
"I have a very low opinion of protect cell. I had digital leash before it was protectcell and I had wonderful customer service and response time. My first issue with protectcell is that I was not told of their $125 "admin fee" at the time of my $135 purchase price for the plan. Secondly when I did agree to pay their fee they WOULD NOT tell me if I was getting a new or refurbished phone. I asked them multiple times why they couldn't call the warehouse and find out and was told it wasn't possible. As it turns out surprise surprise I got a refurbished phone. Finally what will definitely make me NEVER use protectcell again is that when I got my phone, it did not contain a sim card so I had to go to the verizon store and spend $10 do buy a new one. The sales guy at this other verizon store said they do not use protectcell because their rates are to high and they use a company that 9/10 gives new (not refurbished phones)"

It came yesterday, but I wasn't informed that I needed to sign for it. I will have to go pick it up today (Tuesday). That seems like a long time to wait for a replacement phone. Asurion Always got me a phone next day without having to sign for it."
"My daughter's phone decided to take a swim in the toilet bowl and then didn't want to play afterwards... so I placed a call to Protectcell. Two replacement phones later, one week without a phone she did receive a "new" phone but it was different than the original phone. Now we have to purchase a new case and other accessories. Also the new phone did not come with any instructions, wall charger, etc. ~ definitely something I would have expected from a "new" phone. Not sure if I will purchase Protectcell again, especially when you can purchase a refurbished phone off the internet for almost the same price as the deductible with Protectcell.

"Very bad experience! Got told "unlimited" requests when I first bought my cell phone and I thought it would be great for me since I tend to lose and misplace my phone. Verizon caps you off at 2 devices a year and so does protectcell! Do not believe when they tell you "unlimited" requests. I am now stuck with an old android. This is why I bought this plan in the first place. I keep calling and they tell me they can not do anything about it! So what now? I just get stuck with an old phone for the remainder of my plan even though I technically have insurance!!!!!"
"I recently cracked my screen after having my phone for almost 2 years. Luckily, I still had some time left before my plan expired with ProtectCell. I reached out to them just for information on my plan, but decided to order a new phone anyways since my time was almost up. The process was very smooth over the phone and my new device came within a couple business days. I was okay with paying $70 since this was my first replacement with them, but if it were to break again the price would jump up significantly to get another device. At that time, I'd probably just buy a new phone. Overall, it was a very smooth process."

"I had a horrible experience with Protectcell. The side button on my phone went bad that turns on and off the phone. Since I knew once my phone turned off, it would not turn back on, I went into Verizon store before it shut off. They ordered a new phone which we decided to ship to the store. It came in 2 days later after multiple calls to the store telling me it was not there on the 2nd day (I was told they would call once it came in and I tracked it on the UPS tracking site), they finally discovered it was and they misplaced it. In the process of transferring phones, they took the battery out of my phone only to find out that the new phone the Protectcell sent did not work at all. Therefore I left the store that day not with my new phone, but without a phone at all. When you pay $165 for the insurance, and $125 for the claim, you expect the phone to work and should not have to go without a phone for a day based on Protectcells's error. I called the Corporate office 8 days ago to complain, and they promised a manager would call me back after hearing my story. No one ever called me back. Being a college student 100 miles from home in a larger city and a non-dependable car, going without a phone was a big inconvenience and stressful. I had to make another trip to the store the next day, where I finally got my new phone.
As a result of my experience, I would appreciate it if Protectcell would reimburse the cost of my new phone for the insurance not preforming as they claimed. As a Verizon customer from the beginning and 4 phones in our plan, we expect better service. My younger sister is now also away at college with the same Protectcell insurance. We are now checking into alternate phone carriers."
