"These guys are amazing. I've never seen anything like this. The service, the constant contact, the ability to make changes on the fly. I will never get a computer from anyone else. ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!!!"
"Puget rocks!! Great customer service. I will not buy anhwere else."
"Simply Amazing! Puget was helpful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable in customizing a system that could do everything I needed it to. They worked with me to keep it inside my budget, and didn't try to up-sell. In fact, I ended up spending less for a better configuration, following their advice. The package was amazingly expertly protected, and the system worked perfectly right out of the box. The peace of mind, knowing everything was thoroughly stress tested and carefully inspected. I would unquestionably recommend Puget Systems in a heartbeat!"
"I love this company. This is the 3rd computer we've bought through you guys and I'm sure it won't be our last. We loved every step of the process.. a change you've made since we last used you--the tracking map and really impressively up-to-date info on your tracking page. So fun! The computer is more quiet than I could have dreamed. I'm really going to love using it for grad school. "
"Superior value, service, assembly, components, and overall product. Would purchase again, and I give Puget my highest recommendation to friends / family.
I have built a lot of my own computers, and this is the first time in 10 or 12 years that I have purchased from a vendor - glad I did. I have had the experience of putting together high-end components that mysteriously fail when used together, and buying components that should be pretty quiet in theory but are not in practice. Buying my system from Puget eliminates all those problems, and does it at price that is NOT significantly higher than if I just went out and bought the components.
In this case, I came to Puget because not only did I want to avoid hassles of building it myself, but also because I wanted a really quiet computer for my music studio, which is something I had no real clue how to go about doing. It's safe to say that this purchase saved me about 100 hours of dicking around researching and putting the right system together, and with much lower risk of strange things going wrong. Right there that's way more than the cost of the computer.
In addition, Puget was very accommodating: I wanted to use some SSD drives that they did not carry and they were happy to let me have Amazon drop ship to them; Puget took care of all the config and burn-in no sweat. Likewise I already had a license for Windows 8, and they were happy to install it with proof of ownership. Let's see Dell or HP do that (note: Dell and HP are no way in the same league with Puget, and it's sort of an insult to mention them in the same sentence - sorry!).
Also, when I want to upgrade this system in the future, I keep the box and ship the machine back to them for installation and re-testing. Awesome.
And when they say quiet, they mean quiet. This isn't even their super quiet model, and in my studio the sound of this machine is "drowned out" by the noises made by light bulbs and monitors (which I did not even realize made sounds until I got this sucker). Literally, a standard laptop idling on low power three rooms away is louder.
Finally, the customer service is amazing - from Wilson the pre-sales rep who patiently accommodated me through a couple months of waffling to the staff who put the machine together and did post-delivery follow-up, everybody was extremely helpful and responsive without ever being intrusive.
Great job!"
"I would jump through fire to sing the praises of Puget Systems! I have had a few days to play with my new system, now, and I can say with certainty that it is everything I hoped for and more.
As an artist, I got the best graphics bang for my bucks. (Nobody is more discriminating about tools than a starving artist! Every penny is an investment.)
But, let me back up a bit. From the beginning, the sales staff was helpful and extremely informative. PLUS William was honest about the pros and cons of various aspects of the build. He didn't try to sell me more than I needed. I had done a bit of homework and price comparisons. He also informed me of a few things I had not discovered in my own fact finding. In was able to verify everything he said through my own sources.
The build was almost as fast as my new system is, and I was surprised and tickled to get photos of my system (I call it my baby) being born.
When the delivery date rolled around, I was very excited. I got the system home and set it up immediately. Whoops! A little problem with getting my monitor hooked up. One phone call resolved that. Communication was never an issue. Calls were promptly returned. (Within 5 minutes.)
Included with my system were cables wires, connections, etc., for future upgrades. (A staple in the diet of any CG artist.) A lovely (if unexpected) complimentary gift.
I've challenged my new system enough to know it is VERY stable and feel confident I can rely on it.
I will stack Puget Systems against that other "recommended by Autodesk" on any given day, no sweat. Furthermore, I have written to Autodesk to inform them of the same.
Five stars!!!"
"Ordered 2 PCs from Puget Systems. I was very patient with the purchase of the computers for myself and my wife. We have owned several computers over the years (we had our own tax and accounting business) that were either purchased from a big box store or online through one of the major online providers. My objective this time was to be very selective both with componentry, how the system was built, planning for future expansion and longevity of the system (these will probably be our last systems). I searched on several computer builder websites, compared the two major online manufacturer/sellers, and visited 3 major computer stores. When all was said and done Puget Systems came out on top - CONSISTENTLY! They have the best quality components, their prices were more than competitive, their website provides 90% of the information I needed for each component, their recommendations when I was unsure both by e-mail and phone was right on and was based on what I needed - Not what they want to sell. They truly put their potential customer's needs above their ability to sell a component that is not required. Our systems arrived when they said they would, very well packaged, were pre-configured with the operating system, all software DVDs (from component and operating systems providers)was conveniently provided in a binder that also included a detailed identification of every component and the pre-delivery testing that was done. We have had our systems for over 30 days now and have not had one problem. The company's rep even called us to see if there was anything else they could do about a week after delivery. This company could give lessons to other major sellers on how to treat potential customers. I feel very confident that if we do encounter a problem with our system they will be there to help us out without any questions.
If there is any drawback it is that you won't get a system today - it will take some thought and research for what you really want in a system. When the decision is made you will have a system within a week, but it will be one YOU had custom made for your use and saved some money when compared to other major sellers. You cannot go wrong using Puget Systems. "
"I purchased two Obsidian workstations for electrical engineering development use. They are configured identically, with 3.4GHz Xeons, 16GB ECC RAM, 240GB Intel 520 SSDs, and Quadro 600s, and run Win 7. Pre-sales support was excellent - a major step up from working with the big guys - but the thoroughness with how these systems went together is what really separates Puget from the competition. I wanted solid, good performing, no BS computers, and that's what I got. And it was so nice to get a new machine without all that bloatware!
Overall I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The only dissatisfaction I have (very slight) is with the case. It's quite a bit bigger than I had expected (my own fault - dimensions clearly shown on website). It's a full, server-sized case. I don't need much in the way of drive space (most files stored on server), and don't need multiple video cards, so there's a whole lot of room in there that's never going to be used. A mini tower would have been more appropriate. Still, the topside buttons and USB ports are convenient, and it fits fine under my desk, so while not the most compact solution, it is very practical. It's also surprisingly quiet, which is nice.
We've had these now for a little over two months, and they've worked flawlessly. Solid design and reliability was a major consideration with this purchase, so only time will tell if this trend continues. However, I can say that compared to our most recent workstation purchase a few months prior, we're already ahead of the game. That one took several calls to Dell tech support to get right, which more than offset any difference in price.
Business users - you have to figure this into your decision. A few hours of a professional's time more than offsets the difference in cost between the range of supplier's prices. Puget offers a excellent value for a solid machine. For smaller businesses that properly account for their time, the Puget Obsidian line is a smart purchase."
"I could not be more pleased with the service I received from Puget systems. The system is blazing fast and dead silent--very impressive--I was amazed at the testing and benchmarking. But I was most impressed by the attention I was given. First, Jeff helped me with system configuration, then when a part was delayed in shipping they upgraded it to a part they had in stock at no charge to me so my system would not be delayed (I didn't ask for this by the way, they did this on their own), and finally when I became aware of a software requirement that required me to call them midway through the build to add another hard drive they added it without any extra service charge even though the system was already built. They were always in immediate communication and always a pleasure to speak to. I just cannot imagine better service than that. If you are considering the purchase of a new computer that is built the way you want and not loaded with things you don't, look no further and give them a call. You will be glad you did every time you use it."
"The hardware is reliable, quiet, and a good value. The service is always excellent."
"Excellent sales help, excellent technical help, friendly and knowledgeable, efficient, and quality packaging."
"I was turned on to this company by a friend, the online customer service was great. They walked me through the purchase and all of the upgrades that I required for what I needed the computer for. The communication process during the build and shipping was outstanding. Very happy with the service."
"I started buying computer systems for my use as a programmer in the mid 1980s, then as a photographer around 2000. This was my first purchase from Puget Systems and was my best buying experience by far. There was good advice initially, then I was kept informed as the build and shipping progressed.
I've been using the Serenity for about a week now and it has met and even surpassed my expectations -- quiet and powerful as promised. I have used Photoshop with complex multilayer images, MS Access with a complex database, Visual Studio on a programming project along with email and Internet browsing. No problems!"
"Staff is knows the technology and is able to answer questions. This is my second purchase fron Puget Systems. I was pleased with the thoroughness with which they verifeid systems before shipping. I would buy a PC from them again."
"Very professional service and quality craftsmanship."
