I replaced a 10 year old Dell desk top computer that ran on Windows XP. I had read bad things about the Windows 8 user interface and knew that Windows 7 was a little past it's prime.

Puget Systems had the answer...the Windows 8 makeover to emulate Windows 7. You get the technology benefits of a Windows 8 back end with a pretty small learning curve from XP on the user interface.

The cost was pretty reasonable, too. I would have bought another Dell but they wouldn't add the upgrades that I wanted...not very customer oriented.

"In Aug and Sept of 2012 I begged family and friends for recommendations on home computers.

I was lost. I reviewed some of the Dell's online, walked into Best Buy and Sam’s and looked at Dell Boxes there too but did not have a clue how to shop for a new computer after holding on to my 9 yr. old Dell Dimension 4550.
I contemplated everything even thought of jumping ship and trying Apple. I was shopping for a Desktop (processor only. I was thinking I would stay with Dell but I was unhappy with the preset configurations and not being able to consider each component. I used to be able to go through Dells web site and learn more about all the computer components and now everything with Dell is bundled with fewer internal choices and I've heard that parts are pretty generic and low quality. I was poor as a church mouse but took money out of my 401K to finance a computer because I just could not take the problems, slowness and obsolescence I keep dealing with.

I am a middle aged woman, I don't do any games or graphics work except just scanning in some old photos. Mostly I just use for job searching, health research on the internet and word processing.
I also wanted a good warranty and service, because I just do not want to handle any possible new problems without really good support. Do not want or need the stress. I also wanted a quieter computer as my old one was loud.

I found everything I was looking for and more with Puget Systems. I love my computer!
