"The difference with Puget is service. When I decided it was time to get a new computer after 8 years, I was torn between building it myself or having it built. Although I enjoyed putting my last computer together, I no longer really have to time to devote to the assembly, and in particular the steps needed for proper quality control when building a decent rig (burn-in tests, memory validation, tweaking BIOS settings etc).
From the first few emails I exchanged with William George at Puget I knew I had made a good choice. He was knowledgeable and helpful, willing to work within my budget and not hesitating to recommend less expensive parts if they would fit my needs. He was also very responsive; most of my emails were answered within an hour of being sent. They were also able to accommodate my request for a Win7/Linux dual-boot system which was excellent (kudos to them for even installing the NVIDIA driver on the Linux OS instead of Nouveau without me even asking so I could run CUDA code with no hassle!).
The build process itself took about a week from the time I completed the order to the time it shipped. Puget's website is great at keeping you up to date! You can see exactly what part is being installed or what test is being run and at what time. They will also post pictures of your system (the thermal images when idle and under load are a particularly nice touch). The array of tests that they run is very impressive, with literally every part of the system subject to thorough testing while they keep track of CPU/GPU temperature.
The computer arrived safe and intact; it was very well-packed and came with every accessory neatly bundled, and a binder containing all relevant information on my system, including restore disks.
Overall my experience with Puget systems was incredibly satisfying. It was more expensive than building it myself, but in my mind the extra money was for a worry and hassle-free experience (enhanced by the lifetime support and labor warranty), and a well-tested and incredibly fast machine! I would recommend them to anyone."

" First off I have a pretty good amount of past experience in building my own desktop computers. I've come to expect top performance and top reliability in the finished product with the security of knowing the quality that went into the build.

Im currently a 100% disabled veteran after a life career in the Army and 4 tours in Iraq and I haven't the patience nor the steady hands anymore to build my own computer. My last one which was my first prebuilt was a high end store bought brand that left much to be desired!

I decided to look online for a custom build where I could choose what I wanted in my finished computer. I spent countless hours and many nights researching all the various companies that do this to include all the so called custom gaming computer sites with high end components. I began to have a lot of second thoughts and considering taking on the build myself! Because of the lack of experience, quality control, possible refurbished parts and assembly line techniques most online custom computer companies used I couldn't live with myself investing my hard earned money in any of them.

Now that I have it at home in use to say my expectation where met would be an understatement. I only wish other specialty companies could be this serious about their product and care about loyalty to the customer like Puget does!

The Puget Obsidian is the best computer I've ever had. I'm a very satisfied customer. Five stars out of five.

The Ubuntu distro runs like a dream. There was one minor quibble though. At first it wouldn't boot into a bootable DVD. I tried it a few times. Then I tried a different DVD and it booted. Then I tried the original DVD that wouldn't boot, and it worked. It seems to have fixed itself. I was worried for a minute there but it's fine now.

As I said, a minor anomaly. All is well.

"I did a Google search for fast, quiet computers and found the Puget Systems website. The website is very impressive - well organized, informative, thoughtfully done. I selected a desktop computer and specified the components I wanted. I then had an e-mail discussion with William George, customer service lead. He was interested in knowing how I would use the computer, and he had some excellent suggestions as to what components would be best. Together we considered every detail and he made the necessary changes for me before I finalized the order. They built the system, tested it, and had it ready to be shipped, all in just a week. They even took photographs of the computer and sent them to me, along with a video of my particular machine with a demonstration of where the various parts were located within the case. I requested shipment by ground, and the system arrived in 7 days, just as promised. There were a couple of minor tears in the cardboard box, sustained in transit, but no damage to the contents.
