"I recently purchased my digital camera, a Sony Cybershot DSCW50, from RainbowTronics. After checking around some, I found that I was able to save more than $60.00 thru RainbowTronics rather than buying from a local electronics store. I don't shop online to much, but I heard you could find some good deals if you took the time to look. I would rate my overall experience using RainbowTronics as favorable, and would check them out again. One problem I did experience was when I submitted my order, some information I entered in did not show up for processing the order, and so I needed to contact a customer service rep. This service rep, after recieving the information, stated the order would be processed within 2-3 hours, but when I check on the status of my order 2 days later, I found out that my order had still not been processed to their billing dept, and so I had to wait a couple more additional days to recieve my order. Due to the delays in recieving my order, which I paid extra so I could recieve my order quickly, I think it would have been nice if the shipping charges would have dropped, instead of offering me reduced prices on items I did not need.
Overall though, because of their lower price on the item I bought, I would still come back and check them out for future purchases. "

"While not the least expensive company out there for the camera we were looking for (Nikon D50), it ranked in the lowest 5. and of those companies, this one had by far the best overall customer satisfaction ratings. i would have to agree, everything was extremely simple and the camera shipped in a day. the only drawback is the required customer service "credit card verification", which is also their opportunity to talk you into buying extra essentials and warranties, etc. but as i can tell from all the reviews i read, this is pretty standard across the board. no complaints, would shop there again. "The original order was placed on the date shown above. The order was not processed until 10/24/06 due to bad credit card processing steps. Customer service was very bad - the person on the phone was rude when called back for credit card verification. Also, the fact that the customer needs to call back for credit card verification was not purchaser friendly. Additional security measures should be implemented to remove this step from the purchasing process - it delays the order processing!"

"Started out as a fair experience that turned south in no time. These guys may be low price, but beware because there's a catch. They had one of the the best prices for a Nikon D50 I purchased recently. Same story with others, aggressive sales during verification call but did take no for an answer after some firm "NOs". Turned out my Nikon D50 is known to NikonUSA as "gray market" camera. How I learned about this is I tried registering my Nikon D50 using the serial # on the camera, and NikonUSA immediately refused it and said that the serial # is "gray market". What this means is that there is no US warranty, and that NikonUSA will never repair it even if you pay them. Also, no software downloads and firmware upgrade will be possible from NikonUSA as well. I got suspicious when I found NO warranty card in the package. Next, I tried to contact the sales person who did the sale (Sam). He was very quick at deflecting me to their customer care dept - "I have no idea what they sent you." he claimed. I then attempted 3 separate times to contact them, and all 3 times they put me on hold after learning about my complaint and questions about gray market merchandise I received. When I asked them initially where's the warranty card, they said there is none and all I need to do is send NikonUSA my invoice. Next when I mentioned that NikonUSA rejected my registration because they said my serial # entered appears to be gray market merchandise, they insisted that they only sell merchandise authorized for US only and put me on hold. All 3 times I waited after I explained the situation, the customer service rep put me on hold and mysteriously I got diconnected consistently after being on hold for a long period and with any resolution. Additionally, the PictureProject software CD-ROM that is supposed to be included in the package (according to their website) is only a bunch of reference PDF files for the software and not the software itself. The only software on the CD-ROM is the Adobe Acrobat reader application. Even the Nikon user manual looks suspiciously cheap and poorly reproduced. I learned my lesson here and I hope you will from my experience. I will certainly not do business again or recommend anyone I know to this establishment"
