"I'm a gamer and I thought that I found the best site ever. There were the best discounts that I've ever seen. Then the nightmare started. I made a few purchases then they started cancelling my orders for no reason even after I did thier spot check verification. I was trying to get a 2 for one sale and they made miss the sale because this time they didn't give me my gift card. I called in and they asked for further verification which I passed and then they still cancelled my order. They said that I may have to provide a picture ID. Makes no sense and they gave me no reason for them cancelling my orders. I would have said this was the best site ever until this. By the way the verification process works you will be out of business soon because the way it works and the service provided will make people never want shop here again. Now starting to look at this situation I believe they may be scamming people into getting thier ID so they can complete the identity theft. I have never had anyone ask me for my ID to complete a purchase for anything in all my 38 days on this earth that did not require financing. I tried to buy two gift cards totaling 90 dollars. I was required to call in for my second card and was asked to provide a lot of personal information and still they wanted photos of my state/federal IDs.
Long story
I needed to verify some personal information going back over 40 years. I was asked where I lived in 1973, what meaning a street had to me (lived there in 1991) and a few other less obscure questions which happened in the last twenty years. I was then told I was allowed to spend my 40 dollars on the site. My first 50 dollar purchase went through like a normal online transaction no giving up of personal information or a call into big brother the day prior. The next day after I gave up my personal information 'willingly' I was told I could now spend my money again. I then tried to spend another 40 dollars and after doing this the second purchase it was canceled until I re-verified by sending a photo of license or passport. REALLY??!!!?? I was trying to spend my money not try to get around any anti-money laundering laws it was 90 dollars in total!! Perhaps my name matches some drug lord or Wall Street ponzi schemer but I doubt it and again it was a total of 90 dollars at Amazon. I called the 'help line' again (don't try after 8 PM CST time) and was told despite being told I was allowed to spend my money I couldn't until I provided two photos of my ID one at 45 degrees the other at 90. All this trying to buy a FORTY DOLLAR gift card at Amazon!!!
The information I was asked all must be in the public domain and probably is asked when getting a loan/mortgage/pay day loan?? but for buying a 40 dollar gift card really???? What isn't in the public domain is two clear photos of my driver license or passport something I will not provide for something as trivial as a FORTY DOLLAR GIFT CARD!!!! I don't allow the TSA to scan me so it goes without saying I'm not going to let some fly by night gift card seller/buyer get my 'more' personal information they aren't able to get through 'legal' means. Also who is to say in the coming year they won't be hacked like Yahoo?
Spend your money anywhere else really you'll feel less dirty and will have saved at least 40 minutes of your life if you don't write a review. Chances are you're looking these guys up after trying to spend your money and are just nodding knowingly. Next time you try to buy something at Amazon see if they ask you for a photo of your passport. Saving 1% isn't worth anything I had to go through maybe it is for you if you're a masochist. You have been warned.

I still have the same feelings after Raise reached out to me regarding my problems with spending my own money. Their answer didn't deny anything I said only to call them to hear the same thing explained again. Bottom line no one is getting my license or passport photo to spend 40 dollars. Just go somewhere else.

Seems even my first 50 dollar card which went though was denied. It worked for a day and then I was email by Amazon it was no longer valid. I spoke to Amazon and they said the funding was removed by Raise and it wasn't their fault and to contact the card re-seller. I would like to add they gave me the money back very quickly so you can believe the reviews that their customer service is prompt. But having a complete failure in buying gift cards will not allow me to update the star rating. My laziness is to blame for using this site. After getting the credit I just went to the local store and got my Amazon gift card WITH NO passport photo or being treated as a criminal hiding money.

"I was not sure at first to buy gift cards from 3rd party sellers but i gave raise a try and i have never got a problem with them. They have immediate delivery system for gift cards and a 1 year warranty now which is wondeful. I also tried other 3rd party sellers but they dont deliver on time and yiu have to wait from 5 hours to 1-2 days for your e-giftcards to be delivered to your email from other sellers. Raise is the best so far and you get your e-giftcard in seconds. I will be buying from raise always. The one thing is that its discounts are usually less than others but its reliable. I hope they can match the discounts of other compititors soon."
