"I will say that the customer service and package receiving in record time was 5 star.
I ordered them in September in advance of a move from Canada to the US, with a future delivery date of just a few days ago. That service and delivery was all stellar.
Now to the thumbs down.
I was excited to locate the silverware set that I left with my ex-husband, as they were his mother’s. This original true set came from Oneida as his mother worked there.
The pattern name is not printed on the true set, so when I saw the image while scrolling the Replacements website with the set name, I was stoked.
The price was aggressive, but I was able to get almost every piece I had before except for 5 butter knives.
At first glance, they appeared to be real. Oneida stamped and everything.
Each piece came individually inserted in a cheap plastic bag, bundled together and wrapped in paper. If they are a resale, I get that they likely don’t have the original packaging, but at the same time it’s unusual to charge above market pricing for out of box items. Still, I’d be fine with that if all of the product was true.
Most of them are the same steel colour, but many of them are off and appear like they are tarnishing. It’s slight, but noticeable.
The pattern of the true style has slightly rounded squared off edges. Some of these are rounded off as they are supposed to be, but some of them appear to have been cut and just left as is. Unpolished or coated with some of the underlying raw cut metal visible.
Either they sent me some real ones and some they die cut themselves or they sold me some outlet offcuts at incredibly steep pricing.
I’m regretting going with Replacements LTD and should have just scoured the Internet for an eBay set or contacted Oneida directly once I had the set name.
I paid around $750.00 for a set of cutlery that I’m fairly certain isn’t actually Oneida based on my having the exact same true set for 15 years.
I just received them a couple of days ago and only discovered this today. I haven’t contacted the company yet. But I’m going to tomorrow.
Disappointing to be ripped off like this. If they are knock offs, just say so. And certainly don’t charge such aggressive pricing for fake or outlet level replacements."
"I purchased 11 large square heavy dinner plates to add to my collection. They arrived quickly, and packaged very well. This was my second time ordering, and I’m extremely pleased!"
"Wow! How generous. This company must be owned by Ebenezer Scrooge and Mr. Potter. Greedy, greedy people."
"I was happy with the mugs I ordered to replace the ones that broke but a few mugs were shipped wrapped in massive rolls of paper and a huge box full of non recyclable styrofoam peanuts! I didn't think anyone used these anymore. I will not be ordering again from here unless they change their shipping material and I encourage others not to as well."
"I was going to sell some china that I acquired through some love ones that I really do not need. So I was going to let someone cherish the pieces that I could not use. Here is the facts, I have the Lenox Presidential Collection - Autumn series. 13" Oval platter. They sell it for $139.95 on their website and they only wanted to give me $32 for it. I could understand paying 50% but this not ethical!!! I don't know why anyone would want to utilize their service when you can put it on Facebook or eBay and do a whole load better. Seller beware!!! Good luck!!!"
"I ordered what I thought was a missing piece of a dish set. I was listed and available. I ordered it. Then, I got an email, to NOT the correct email, by the way (I am still not sure how they found the other email), that the promo code I used was not applicable and they are holding my order. When I logged in (with both emails), there was NO history of the order. I have unsubscribed every day for two weeks. Now, they spam me every day, and they have my credit card - but I don't have the bowl. It must be a scam. "
"I ordered some pier 1 Tumblr cups that are discontinued but absolutely gorgeous. I was worried about ordering from this site since the reviews were so bad but the website was the only place they were carried. When they got here, they were PERFECT and in great condition and exactly what I wanted. I now feel obligated to write this review because I was so excited and pleased with this website. It is a bit expensive, but the price was worth it to me. I bought a whole set of these cups I love. The shipping was super fast too--like 5 days. "
"My wedding China has been discontinued. I was so excited when I was able to find replacements with this company. Then they came in the mail. They are horrible! They are extremely cheap looking made in China fakes. The design is even printed a little off center. The color doesn’t match from plate to plate. The style on the bottom is different. This is not a replacement!!!! It’s an EXTREMELY poorly made fake. Furious."
"This is NOT a place to expect a bargain, tho’ you may find some! This is an outstanding location where you can replace ANY broken piece of a beloved set of China. Reviews from folks trying to “sell” their own sets of China to Replacements, Ltd., are distorted, as you cannot expect to get Top Dollar for your own personal set if you have to box & ship it, and then, Replacements has to review, catalogue, photograph, and price it. Sell your own set of China locally, in a consignment shop! This terrific store is designed to help those who are ‘Replacing” Broken Pieces, or Adding Additional Pieces to their China collection— hence the name! This is an outstanding store; great people, helpful staff, and a treasure trove of info! "
"At first I did not realise that the prices were quoted in $USD instead of $AUD, so I ended up paying way more than I expected. My mistake. I emailed a couple of times re postage & shipping. Replacements Ltd replied quickly and answered my questions thoroughly. My order did take approx 1 month to arrive (US to Australia), but the cutlery was in better condition than I expected (being second hand) and well packaged. Very happy!"
"Experience 3 years ago was excellent all around.
Selling experience in last month with:
A) Some improvements: e.g. speed at which their system send back an offer listing;
B) Continued high high quality service: e.g. identification of pattern, scheduling of appointments, and showing of pattern pieces in showroom.
C) Odd/inexplicable deterioration of practices in "selling to them" in person at their location: e.g.
c.1) they offered to match their offer price on 1 item of 4 but lowered their offer to the prior month's offer amount for the remaining 3 identical pieces in the same pattern (usually if a piece is "flawed they lower their offer by 50%);
c.2) they indicated they were not willing to buy glassware because "the pieces were scratched" but in fact the same pieces had a manufacturer's gold label on them indicating they were new/never used;
c.3) pieces for which they had provided a current offer they stated did would not buy because "we have too many of these pieces".
Overall my prior positive experience in "Sell to Us" switched to a negative one. In the future I would only sell to them if I were doing so in person at their facility and so had the option to take back whatever their re-pricing or refusal to buy what they had given offers for."
"I was in contact with representatives from this company to sell pieces of Spode China. I received the offer and shipped multiple pieces- most in pristine unused condition. The offer was initially $138, for 32 pieces of China far below the actual value. It cost 41.50 to ship these pieces. When I received the email notification- I was offered $38 for the lot- a net loss on shipping etc. Once the items are in their hands, you have little recourse. The negotiations are not transparent- Highway Robbery -too bad- they have your items and you are out the shipping costs. I instructed them to ship my items back to me at their expense this time. Minimally, my shipping costs should have been reimbursed. "
"as a reseller, i sent back dishes in great condition. they hold all the cards and come back and say slight chip or wear then say they wont buy, but they have the merchandise. they wont pay to ship it back , so you are stuck with it, and then they have the dishes to sell anyway. They have a racket going on for sure"
"This company purchased from me china which had been collecting dust in my hutch!
I had no need or desire for the fine china.
Someone somewhere had a desire for my china.
Employees at Replacements Ltd. were presented with an opportunity to be employed another day.
Selling to Replacements Ltd. is not about getting rich. It is about linking people with a need and people with an excess.
Win. Win."
"They do not offer anywhere near the value of your items. They advise you you break up your set of China and sell them only a few pieces which then devalues the price of your set of China.
Example is they offered me 23.00 for a 17 inch platter of Lenox 1943 China never used from my set of China and I see them list it for sale at 145.00. That's is one hell of a profit margin for them.
Them they make you pay for the shipping. When they receive the item if they don't like it the lower there offer and if you don't except it then they make you pay to have it shipped back.
WHAT? You the seller pays for shipping??? EBay Wal-Mart and every other company has the buyer pay for shipping not the seller. What kind of **** is this.. Trust me people I can go on and on about there crooked policys.
Please do not deal with them..
God Bless.....
