"Replacements Ltd in in the business of buying and selling china and crystal. I sent in a perfect, unused set of China that was passed down to me. Was looking for the best price and Replacements offered the best price possible, pending inspection. And that's where the trouble starts. You have to send everything in, which I did, after taking pictures of each piece, wrapping each one in bubble wrap and shipped and insured to them Aug 2nd. Mid August they finally responded and said some items were broken and others "damaged". I wanted documentation and asked for photographs of the damage and broken items for my documentation. I had to send multiple requests and finally got pictures of two broken plates and was advised that the "damage" could only be seen under a special light so they couldn't send pictures of the other reported damage. I had to argue with them stating they list a set of salt and pepper shakers is actually not as valuable as each individually. During this time. I learned that with out my permission, Replacements.com had already cut and sent a check without my knowledge or even me agreeing to the purchase price. So when I asked about the salt and pepper shakers, they said they would cut another check. When asked about the broken plates, Replacements.com said they would file the claim and send me paperwork on it. I have sent numerous emails requesting this information and they state they are working on it. It's now Oct 13th, and still have yet to receive my check, refund for the damage covered under USPS, or even the paperwork "
" My experience is that you can buy and sell on eBay much cheaper. After receiving a quote to sell my items, by the time I purchase bubble wrap, boxes, and pay shipping, I would be paying them to take my items! I see on eBay that things sell for much more than what I would make selling items to Replacements (in the negative). Also, you can purchase items on eBay for much less, sometimes more than half of what they charge. I will stick to eBay, or for what doesn't sell I will donate to Goodwill and get a tax write off and still come out ahead!"
"I placed an order totaling about 500.00. The company sent an email stating they would send the status and shipping info. After waiting 9 days, I emailed them and got a reply that my items were shipped out seven days ago via FedEx with a tracking number. The tracking number was not valid. Where is my order?
Update 9 Oct 17: I got another email stating it was sent USPS with a new tracking number. When I track it, I get a message that there is no info on this number. What is going on with this company?

"I bought dinner plates to replace broken pieces in a hard to find pattern. The price is fair, and the shipping is also fair. Each additional plate after the first one didn't increase the shipping, so I bought a few more than I really needed.
The communication about my order was excellent. The packaging was great (I was worried about getting broken plates, but they all arrived fine), and the plates arrived promptly (about a week after they were ordered) via FedEx. I'm not sue what happened to some of the other reviewers, but my experience with Replacements, Ltd. was excellent.

"I bought a Hummel figurine, colouring on the item is disappointing, but as I've paid an additional $49 for shipping and then was charged a further £54 for import duties, it's not cost effective to return. £250 wasted altogether "
"I sent in items to be sold and once they received the items, they told me the price had changed. They will not give you the value of your pieces no matter what. Do not sell to them - this is a rip off."
"Why do I always pick these patterns from Stores that get retired? Replacements LTD always has the pattern I need to replace broken pieces, of to add the flatware pieces that have been chewed in the garbage disposal. They have been my go to for my entire marriage of over 20 years. I just received my 4 Sango bowls (only place that still had them in my color, Olive) along with all the other pieces I don't need at this time which is good to know. The box these 4 cereal bowls was packed in was wrapped where it would not have broken one had it dropped from a 10 story bldg. At least 2 gallons of packing peanuts, and wrapped in this incredible mesh paper and brown paper, layer after layer. Thank you, and it came quickly! I see you still have my silverware pattern too, and my old ceramic dish patterns. Neat Store!!!!!!!"
"I‘ve been online shopper for the last 17(!) years since September 2000 and never ever experienced anything like that!
Last November I placed my first order at Replacements. A week later I received my order to discover that most of the items have had a different color from the pictures on the website.
One of the items Poppy Splatter Flower Shape Soup/Cereal Bowl [SOCEFL] by Maxcera Corp Web ID: 86287991 came in 3 pieces. I took a picture and sent it to the Replacements and received a credit.
I decided to keep wrong color items for $185.85 for gifts. Hoping that I’ll buy later a replacement for the cracked bowl. I am in Canada and even if the order is eligible for Free shipment in US I each time paid for the delivery US$49.99.
Taking into account my negative experience with colors, for the next order of December 15, 2016 I’ve chosen small items to check the colors before making next big purchase.
3 next orders of January 8, 9, 10. 2017 were not processed for more than 10 days and I cancelled them.
I contacted Customer Services before placing a next order and mentioned that I want scarlet red not peony red. I made this statement in writing when placing orders on January 22nd and 24th.
I was shocked when I received those orders and most of the items were wrong colors, different from the web, cracked or defective. It took several long phone conversations with VP Customer Services to arrange receiving prepaid FedEx labels to return those items back to the Replacements. The laughing part of it was, that Replacements’ employee wasn’t able to e-mail labels as a .JPG files: fax only. So I should find a fax machine to get them.
Tracy, VP Customer Services e-mailed to me, that a person, who was good with colors would be assigned to my account for future, which never happened.
My next order of March 2, 2017 again arrived with wrong colors plates. Tracy and an Executive Assistant called my cell refusing to pay for mailing wrong items back to the US.
My next order of March 20th was cancelled by the Replacements. No one at CS returned my calls, as well as my e-mails.
The worst of all from Replacements side was removing my Favorite Patterns from my account which I planned to use for the future online purchases. It took me several evenings for a week to check 375,953 (!) matches for red color patterns! https://www.replacements.com/search/?query=red&i=24&p=0&fq[]=product_type_exact:China
Who will return this time to me?
After waiting for a week for an order of May 4, 2017 with Poppy Splatter Flower Shape Soup/Cereal Bowl [SOCEFL] by Maxcera Corp Web ID: 86287991, I opened my account and discovered that order was cancelled by Replacements. I called CS last Saturday. The gentleman on the phone had promised that I’d be contacted by VP on Monday. Nobody did.
I told Tracy that in telephone era one unhappy customer told 10 people about h(er)is experience. Now 1 person can tell on social media thousands of people.

"Absolutely the worst place to sell your antique pieces. You have to research the Pattern, and guess what each piece is called. Then pay for the shipping across the country, only to find out they are "not buying" that pattern or piece. Or better yet , your perfect condition china is mysteriously chipped or broken. And that means $0 money for what YOU payed for to send, and are NOT getting any money to reimburse you for shipping or the items that are antique. So sure buy from them, but dont sellto them. UNLESS YOU ARE OK WITH SPENDING MONEY AND GETTING NOTHING IN RETURN, NOT EVEN YOUR ITEM BACK!"
"I recently inherited my mother's and her mother's before her, 50th anniversary Golden Baroque Rose Gold Flatware. My mom kept telling me all along she wanted me to have it someday and I kept saying "but mom, it's only a service for 8 and my china is for 16." I am so happy now that she left this to me. I did not know the name of the pattern but contacted Replacements, Ltd. customer service. My call was answered very promptly by a very courteous, professional, and helpful representative, named Sunshine. I explained I could not identify the pattern but saw one on the website that looked similar. I asked what the return policy was in case it wasn't a match, and if these were in new condition or would be flawed. Sunshine answered all my questions to more than my satisfaction regarding returns and identification, she talked me through getting to the proper location on the website for free pattern identification inquiry. It was very easy to do and I received almost immediate response from the company saying they received my inquiry and would have identification confirmation within 24 hours and they did! I placed my order for their remaining four additional place settings and received it yesterday, less than a week later. All pieces were perfect, wrapped individually in plastic zip bags, and I am so happy now to have this wonderful heirloom to use and remember my mother and grandmother each and every time we use it. My experience with Replacements, Ltd could not have been better! I give it a 5-star plus! I am now looking at adding serving pieces to my china. Thank you Replacements, Ltd. My only difficulty was trying to locate a place to give a great review; I don't usually write reviews but their service was above and beyond my expectations and enabled me to enjoy my mother's legacy. PS the price was lower than what I found on eBay for the same product."
"Family members have ordered from here in the past, but not me. Well I placed an order of 6 china piece. The box is about 18 inch cube. Thought to my self, wow such a big box for a few pieces. I opened it and now I know why. An elephant can't break these.
They were wrapped in paper follow by browning netting type wrap follow by peanuts. Nothing was broken. My husband use to pack for a living qndvhe was even impressed. Great job. Order was spot on. Marie"
"I am shocked by the negative reviews I read here. I have been shopping Replacements for years. Their customer service is excellent. I have never had a problem reaching them by phone. I can't imagine why it should be an issue. Everyone I have ever spoken to has been courteous, professional, and helpful They ship promptly. Everything is perfectly wrapped. Their prices are fair. You cannot compare them to eBay as Replacements' products always look perfectly brand new. Their pricing for sterling is considerable lower than other on-line vintage dealers. Their silver restoration is marvelous and a real bargain. "
"I had several pieces I needed to replenish - had used replacements.com in the past, but when went to go order from there, started reading all these negative reviews - so I looked at other sources - true one can find flatware pieces cheaper elsewhere, but I found the convenience of buying all pieces from one place (from replacements) persuade me to try them again
On their website, I staged an order and wanted to see what it looked like before I hit "submit" (the software said I could), but that was not so and all of the sudden they thanked me for my order (beware of that) - hopefully they will change that in their online order processing
I phoned and e-mailed them right away, and very pleasant and professional support staff efficiently cancelled the order
When I am ready, I definitely will choose replacements.com once again"
"This is a terrible company - stay away from them. Their online payment processing is very suspect, and if you need to get your money back/cancel an order, well think again! I am over $800Au out of pocket and fighting to get a refund from these people. They take 2-3 days to answer every email, and then send only form letters. Their phone numbers don't work outside of the US, so international customers have no recourse except to email, or post reviews online. It's hard to know whether its a scam, or just really rubbish service. Either way, they are super-expensive, very slow, and definitely in the rip-off game. there are thousands of other places to buy discontinued china and tableware that don't try to rip you off. Stay away from Replacements Ltd at all costs."
"I ran across a pattern of china at the Salvation Army family store. It was imperial China's Whitney pattern. They had more than I needed, but I bought some extra and thought I could sell to this company. When I got the offer sheet, I was shocked. For example: they offered to pay me $1 for each for the fruit bowl, which they sell on their site for $10. That's a 1000% markup. Everything else was marked up in a similar way. This company is clearly gouging it's own customers: people who break one of grandma's dishes and will do anything to replace it. This profiteering off the sentimental feelings of people is despicable. This is a ripoff company. Go to ebay instead. Example: Whitney Dinner plate: Replacements: $12, Ebay $3.50. It only gets worse. Shop at ebay or even Amazon. Anywhere but Replacements."
