Total Crooks

"They do not offer anywhere near the value of your items. They advise you you break up your set of China and sell them only a few pieces which then devalues the price of your set of China.
Example is they offered me 23.00 for a 17 inch platter of Lenox 1943 China never used from my set of China and I see them list it for sale at 145.00. That's is one hell of a profit margin for them.
Them they make you pay for the shipping. When they receive the item if they don't like it the lower there offer and if you don't except it then they make you pay to have it shipped back.
WHAT? You the seller pays for shipping??? EBay Wal-Mart and every other company has the buyer pay for shipping not the seller. What kind of **** is this.. Trust me people I can go on and on about there crooked policys.
Please do not deal with them..
God Bless.....

Great service and delivery

"Placed an order for two pieces and was very impressed with the speed of delivery and the packaging of my order. Both pieces arrived in pristine condition and I'm sure I'll place another order with them in the future."

DOWNGRADED COLLECTIBLES

"After getting a quote from Replacements, Ltd, I shipped 3 boxes of porcelain collectibles to them. I got an email few days later saying much of the material was chipped or had "manufacture defects", and nearly all pieces were noted as "Original box is damaged" (apparently 30-40 year old boxes aren't allowed to be yellowed from age). Several phone calls & emails produced conflicting information and bad attitudes. When it was all over I lost a little, but they did finally agree to ship back what they wouldn't buy at reduced prices. Had I read the reviews online for this company, I wouldn't have wasted my efforts."

What was listed as brand new has a defect

" paid $22 for replacement bowl and it had defects in it. I could have bought a cheaper one that said it would have potential defects but I didn't want to defect so I paid more. It says I can return it if I want to pay for shipping back. Why would I want to pay for shipping back for something that was not my fault so now I'm stuck with the bowl with a defect."

Dishonest Business

" I received an offer to purchase 17 dinner plates for $10 each. It cost me nearly $100 to wrap and mail them. I received an email stating that three of the plates were chipped or cracked and the rest were worn. I had checked over the plates very carefully and pulled out the ones which were damaged. They offered me $10 for fourteen plates. So I have paid to virtually "give" these plates and a large amount of my time to this unscrupulous company. Education is expensive sometimes. I would rather have donated the dishes to the Salvation Army. I don't recommend using Replacements, Ltd. for selling anything."

Not the real stuff

"Years ago, I bought some replacement stainless steel from Replacements and it seemed light compared to the supposedly same stainless that I had. Oh well. Today, I received replacement china, that also seemed light, but this time, I weighed it. My original china, salad plates, weigh 14.2 ounces. The ones I received today weigh 11.8 ounces. They are a bit smaller, and the paint in the design is off both color and design. These are not original plates, nor was my stainless. I paid a great deal for them and I'll keep them, but beware, you are not getting what you think you're getting and you're paying a lot for the knock-off. And, I just looked at the website, and they are $10 more than they were a week ago when I ordered them. You ought to be told."

Fake Tiffany cups, saucers and plates received - and failed to give a flip.

"I have purchased from this company before, but I won't again. I had a set of beautiful Tiffany cups and saucers that I inherited from a family member. He lived in Manhattan in the 60's and 70's and had lovely things. I wondered if I might be able to purchase more and with a coffee pot or tea pot. Lo and behold there they were on Replacements.com - I was so pleased and I ordered 4 small plates and two cups and saucers. The coffee pot was gone by the time that I ordered. When the cups, saucers and plates arrived, I looked at them and something caught my eye about the Tiffany stamping on the bottom. It didn't look right. Upon close examination it was clearly a fake stamp. ALL o fate cups and saucers were fake. I googled the tiffany trademark. Sure enough - there it was, the T taller than the other letters. That was how it was supposed to be. These cups and saucers had different stamps, and the word Tiffany was separated into two parts on some of the pieces. TIFF ANY. Great. Fake as Fake can be. To look at them in person, they certainly looked a lot like the real ones. And If I hadn't had real cops and saucers to use for comparison, I might not have left to the internet to look at the real Trademark name because I wouldn't have been able to see the difference in the letters. My husband who has worked as a retail executive also took a look - blatant fakes was his determination - an the too looked at the true TIFFANY lettering and found significant disparity between the reals from the fakes. I informed Replacements of the problem via email the night that I received the fake merchandise. Their response was very unsatisfactory. Here it is, I will copy and paste : Thank you for contacting Replacements, Ltd. We received your inquiry regarding the authenticity of our pieces. We obtain pieces from estate sales, auctions, actual manufacturers and other resources from all over the world. To assure the authenticity of each pattern, we have a full-time research and inventory staff. They are responsible for inspecting each piece and joining them to the correct pattern according to the size, color, shape and backstamp of the piece.

In order to assure that you order the correct pieces, you can call our phone sales department at 1-***-***-**** from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday and 9:00am - 6:00 pm ET, on Saturday (except holidays). The phone representative can have the pieces you wish to buy pulled from the warehouse and notify you of the exact backstamp markings and condition of those particular pieces.

Also, should you ever purchase an item from our store and you're not satisfied, we do offer a 30 day return policy, less shipping and handling.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance to you in any of your china, crystal, silver, or collectible needs. We invite you to browse our website at:

http://www.replacements.com "

Problem with their response:

1. no concern about the sale of the fake - just - oh, hey, return it. I would expect that they would be CONCERNED about this. They should have asked for a photo - for more information;
2. No apology and no attempt to gain customer trust back;
3. They put the burden on ME to make sure that a product is not a fake. Can you believe that ??? Here's the pertinent part of the quote:
"In order to assure that you order the correct pieces, you can call our phone sales department at 1-***-***-**** from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday and 9:00am - 6:00 pm ET, on Saturday (except holidays). Are you kidding me ? They want ME to call to make sure they are the correct pieces and not fakes ? Go to the back of the line Replacements. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. That is the epitome of a bad corporate actor. The email from Replacements had just gone into details about how professional they are: they have a professional staff that checks everything, but hey, if I don't want a fake, I need to call before I order. They are so nice, they gave me the phone number and hours of operation, so I can call and have them pull the warehoused pieces and they will tell me about the backstamp markings. Have you lost your mind Replacements ? This is YOUR duty, not mine. Have your professional staff assure that the pieces aren't fakes. And what am I going to do, wait for the warehouse to pull the piece and we talk about it ,send photos for me to research the markings to see if they are fakes before I place an order?

Either the authenticity check wasn't done, or it failed on its merits. Either way, they have a real problem. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has gotten fake products.

( And what about the coffee pot that they sold to some person that now likely has a fake - did they call them ? - heck no - I'll put money on that. )

Selling to them is not worth it

"I had a set of dishes an aunt gave us years ago that we never used. I was very careful in what I was sending to them, I was lucky that each piece had a number on the bottom to ensure it was the right piece. I inspected every dish I sent, 30 pieces in all. $200 worth.
My work has a shipping dept and i worked with them in packing each piece well and shipped each box inside a box. Marked boxes fragile on the outside. Cost was $50 to ship. So thinking I will make @ $150. After 2 weeks, I got a purchase offer for $20!!
I spent $50 to ship and they are offering me $20!!! They gave me money for 4 dishes that i sent!! The explaination on each piece was it was broken, chipped, cracked, not the right piece, glaze had a crack, too worn, bent. So now I have no dishes and i am out $30.
Of course they will send me back the dishes at my expense. (someone said in an earlier review they will return to you for free which is incorrect) May be ok to buy from them but will never sell to them again.

Ignore negative resell reviews!!

"If you know what it is you're selling, request an offer to purchase. If you don't like the price they offer, don't complain, just don't send it! They're incredibly trustworthy and decent people to do business with. Yes packing and shipping is expensive, so if it's not worth it, don't send it. They are a business that uses their own internal supply and demand calculations to price your items. If your items show up damaged, they return them to you free of charge so that you yourself can inspect the damages. They don't make any false claims. These reviews about how horrible customer service is are ridiculous. These are some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. Would highly recommend!!"

Returns are awful

"Received a bowl I didn't want as a gift. Shipping to return it (which costs minimum $35!) is not covered at all. They also don't do gift receipts. So I have to pay $35 for a gift card that I can only hope to sell to someone else. What a waste of money. "

After a 10 year wait, dishes arrive BROKEN

"Nearly 10 years ago I found Replacements.com. I had been hoping to replace dishes to my grandmother's set to complete it and registered the pattern at Replacements. Finally I was notified that they were available. I immediately ordered what was an equivalent of 4 6-piece place settings. It arrived within a week in 2 boxes. Everything was fine except the four dinner plates. All four were broken. I felt sick to my stomach. The boxes weren't even marked FRAGILE. All they would or could do was refund my money on only the dinner plates. Now I have a full set of dishes minus 4 dinner plates. My heart is broken, I wanted to pass this set on to my children but now what am I supposed to do wait another 10 years. How can a company that specializes in replacement tableware have such poor packing service that they would risk breakage? Don't they understand their own mission? Why would anyone want to replace an item if they didn't love the one they no longer have. The only reason I am keeping my account open is so I can find those plates otherwise I would never use them again. Terrible!"

Fraud alert - they are selling fake replacements

"I received my order yesterday to replace a few pieces of my Everyday White William-Sonoma set I purchased over 12 years ago.
I love this pattern, it's held up so well, but a few bowls had broken over the years. What a joke! What replacements sent is a very poor copy of the original. The quality isn't even close to what my original pieces are it laughable. If anyone is interested I have pictures of my original set vs. what I ordered and received via replacements....night and day!

Replacement sterling is super thin

"I received my silver order today, and it is clear that these folks are running some scam. Both forks and spoons I ordered were replacing missing ones in my family set. The replaced pieces were vastly lighter and thinner than my originals by the same manufacturer. One fork has been polished down so thin that merely laying it on the table bends the soft prongs. I can't imagine why anyone would lighten silver so much because they seemingly make more money on buying ridiculously cheap ($6 for Reed and Barton Francis the 1) and sell so high (over $70 for the same Reed and Barton Francis 1 piece) rip-off and a half. Everyone in the antique silver world warned me, but I didn't listen. Lesson learned I guess."

Cheerful, prompt service !

"I ordered 5 cups and saucers in a rare pattern from Replacements, LTD. Unfortunately I got bread & butter dishes instead of saucers AND I mistakenly threw away the return paperwork. I called Replacements, LTD. The lady that helped me was courteous and friendly and sent me return labels and gave me instructions for return of unwanted items. Just got the saucers today. Thank you for prompt service. "
