"Ordered parts for my car. They arrived and I discovered that they do not fit my car. Ultimately, the part in their catalog was wrong, so wrong part arriving at my door was not my fault. They refunded the part cost, but I still ended up paying the $6 initial shipping for that part. RockAuto paid for the return shipping only, saying it wasn't their fault either but they would graciously split the shipping cost with me. Went to the website to find a customer service number or email. Zip, nada, only a corporate headquarters number. Never buying from RockAuto again. I can order the same parts on Ebay and if they arrive and don't fit the seller eats the cost of their own mistake, rather than passing it on to the customer. Ebay also has better customer service options. At least I can call or email someone about an issue.
The best part was when I went to their website and left a negative review (same as above). To this day they still have NOT posted my review, and I noted their website's internal review system only shows positive reviews (all 5 stars), but if you do a google search for reviews you will find the vast majority of RockAuto reviews on other websites is very low (1-2 stars out of 5 possible). I don't know what happened to RockAuto, but the company has tanked and I will never buy from them again. "
"I purchased a fan clutch for my pickup truck and it didn’t last 7 months. When I tried to get a replacement I had to buy it again and pay for return shipping on the warranty part. Then they sent me a refund two weeks later and sent it to the wrong card. There is no one to speak with everything is email. Save time and money buy it locally or from a credible source. Rockauto ****!!!!!!"
"I have been buying parts from RockAuto for years, but the last few times they have managed to make it impossible to group my purchase items into one shipment.
When you add various items to your shopping cart it shows you a little truck icon by each item with a letter a b or c to designate where that item is being shipped from. In the past I could often substitute similar parts and get them all shipped together, saving multiple shipping charges. Not any longer! Now when I try to delete the item with the odd shipping location the shipping location of some of the other items is changed when the screen refreshes. I have experienced this on three separate orders in the last few months, and I'm convinced it is simply a ploy to grab my money!
Also, their decision to forgo live customer assistance is simply inexcusable."
"Rock Auto only lets you buy on line. You cannot speak to a live person for customer service, ever. On Friday June 21, 2019, someone hacked my debit card and bought $681.00 of Rock Auto merchandise. Rock Auto's generic system allowed the purchase to go through even though a red flag with the addresses were evident. The Bill-to Address was N.H. The ship to was Detroit MI. This is a huge red flag for secure companies today and should have been investigated. When my bank informed me of this huge purchase on Sat. 6/22, i contacted RockAuto right away and discovered i could not speak to a live person. I had to wait until Monday for their corp. location. They were cooperative and gave me the purchase info., but they would not help any further. I filed a police report with Detroit police. Rock Auto will be investigated and audited as a result of their lack of secure purchasing site and the "perception" that they are "part of" this fraud. They would not stop the shipment of the product to investigate it. I am sickened that this on line company is so insecure. "
" I ordered a higher dollar AC DELCO blower motor and the box was correct but the blower motor was a low grade made in korea part.Cheaper model"
"They screwed up my order.
Finally got a answer from emails, waiting a week for my refund and they closed my ticket and are refusing my emails because of the ticket being closed . Now there is not a way for me to get updated on my refund and they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE phone number to call. This has been one of the top agrivating things that have happened to me in the last 5 years . I put them up there with FedEx as far as capability to screw the customer. I would laugh but it's been too agrivating. Just wanted to let you know what you are up against using Rockauto . Buyers beware. "
"I HAVE BEEN A GOOD CUSTOMER TO ROCKAUTO SINCE LAST YEAR, I ordered a Radiator and headlamp last week 06/15/2019 with order number 113123328, today I received a mail that it has been delivered, unfortunately for me my package was no where to be found. My car is bad for repair. I choose rockauto because i got a radiator from them last year and it is still in good condition.
FedEx has caused this for me just because they don't care about customers understanding that they might be unavailable as at the point to pick their package in front of their apartment.
I purposely used my apartment Leasing office to deliver my package just because if I used my own apartment address its either am not home or they drop it in from of my door at the end FedEx disgrace their hand works leaving my package no where to be found or maybe its was not delivered and they sent me an email that it has been delivered left in front door.. stupidity for crying out loud.
Rockauto what is my gain getting the Radiator from you after wasting my money and time. Am so SAD today because $193 is a lot of money to be gone. this is unfair "
"I ordered 4 KYB shock absorbers. After they arrived, I had to be away from home for a few weeks. When I returned and started installing the shocks, I found that two of the shock original boxes had been opened and taped close. All of the mounting hardware was missing. I logged into my Rock Auto account and learned that they would do nothing since the shocks had shipped more than 30 days ago. There is no online chat, e-mail address, or ticket system to file a claim. Rock Auto had shipped my order incomplete and left me with no recourse. I called KYB customer service and explained to them the problem I had with Rock Auto. KYB shipped the two mounting kits that were supposed to be in the boxes from Rock Auto. KYB asked me to complete a questionnaire from their Vendor Management Group because this wasn't the first complaint they had received from Rock Auto customers."
"I'm a HVAC business owner so I have very little time for myself I ordered a condensing coil in May just opened it and it is damaged went online to see what could be done and basically they will do nothing I am a faithful customer with Rock Auto that just came to a end."
"Ordered many times awesome service!!! Good prices!!! "
"My part was lost in mail. No way to contact except through a general survey. So basically you're screwed if it's an important part. So I had to buy another one somewhere else, cuz i couldn't wait a week for someone to contact me. This is not getting a part, but just waiting to be contacted. Too bad they have good parts. But not if you have to buy it twice. Lost our business and i will never recommend again. And we have bought many parts."
"i have used rock auto in the past with another car of mine and had a decent experience so when i bought a newer used car i decided to get my parts from rock auto again. i have a 2004 Chrysler sebring convertible 2.7 v6. i went through all of their categories to make sure i was choosing the right criteria for my car and i ordered 2 separate parts from them. Not only did the parts come from 2 different locations, but both of them were completely wrong and wouldn't fit my car at all. the sad thing is i had no way of knowing what car they would even go to, so i wasn't able to resell them on my own. one of the parts was too big and the other too small. i don't understand how both parts could be so wrong. so i decided to go back on their site to see if i made a mistake when putting in my cars info, but no. i did everything right. the only possibility that it could have been is that they didn't even have a specific option that i needed to pick for my car. they didn't have the option for me to choose that my car is a convertible. when i ordered the part i had no idea that that could be a problem. they don't have the option that i need to choose for my car so i basically can never use them again. they lost me as a customer. also when i was trying to return the items i was charged the same amount for shipping it back as the part even cost me so i cant even get the refund i deserve. all they could tell me was that they did nothing wrong because i put ll the right information in but still got the wrong part. i get that they don't make the parts themselves, but they do a horrible job of overseeing how everything works. "
"I ordered from Rockauto because it was one of the few platforms that allowed to put the year, model and style of the car (coupe, etc). I bought with confidence because it even stated the engine, number of cylinders (e.g. 2012 MERCEDES-BENZ C250 1.8L L4 Turbocharged). My mechanic confirmed that my current alternator was faulty. When the part arrived I paid my high end mechanic shop to install it. After a week of being installed, the battery emoticon came up again, the nav turned off, and the car shut off. I took it back to the mechanic and they told me that the alternator was not supplying enough current to the cars computers and therefore was not for a 2012 c250 coupe, my car. At this point I was pretty upset because my car had been at the mechanic shop twice in 2 weeks for the same problem. I lost confidence in Rockauto and decided for my mechanic to install the right part so the job could be guaranteed. I buy a part that you say is for my car. I pay $200 for my mechanic to install it. The part does not work for my car, and you cannot return my money after I sent it back to you? How am I supposed to return an uninstalled/untouched part. I am returning the part because it failed, and it cost me a significant amount of time and money, the mistake was made on your end for selling me a wrong part. The real mistake was trusting Rockauto."
"Ordered brakes for my car from Canada shipped to Rydens border store where I picked them up. Parts were shipped from two different sites and so arrived on different days. A little inconvenient but it happens. Rotors and pads were fine, exactly what I ordered but rear shoes were for a previous model year and cannot be used. The rockauto parts finder bot clearly stated "these parts fit your car" but clearly they do not.
I used rockauto website to report the issue. There is a series of questions that need to be answered and as you do so the site's bots decide how rockauto will settle the issue. In my case the "bot" decided the manufacturer was at fault for the wrong listing and so rockauto would split the cost of replacement with me but I have to ship the wrong parts back at my own expense and shipping of the new part. This decision was made by an algorithm with NO HUMAN INPUT! It would cost me far more than the value of the parts just to ship them back and forth.
So rockauto.com accepts no responsibility for listing wrong parts as right parts and passed the cost on to me. IMO if you sell items it is your responsibility to make sure the listings are correct. Your site said I was getting parts that fit, you profited from the sale, it's your fault. The VERY least you could do is have a real human pretend to give a damn b4 screwing me.
You earned one star, the second one is charity on my part."
"i ordered a part for my 2003 Ford Taurus and eventually got it . It was actually more expensive than i could have gotten it for locally . To make a long story short the part was wrong and i didnt know this until i tried to install it . I sent it back at my expense . They wont refund my money because i installed it and they want another 11.00 to send the wrong part they sent me that is the wrong part back to me . I did go to AutoZone and gave them the same information and got the correct part the first time . Save yourself alot of anguish and dont waste your money with these crooks ."
