Mismatched Parts - Too Bad No Exchange

"Ordered four new 555002 Monroe shocks to retrofit on my travel trailer. Three were black and one was yellow. They would not exchange the yellow one for black, saying it is only cosmetic and does not affect function. Their website says that they do not guarantee replacement parts will match the color of your old part. That is not applicable in this case. It is reasonable to expect four new shocks to match. Shop elsewhere, such as Amazon, where customers are taken care of much better."

Don’t believe the shipment dates

"Spent several hundred dollars and took a day off work because parts to fix vehicle was coming Friday. They are in next city over but rock auto has FedEx not allow you to go pickup package even though FedEx would have. Now I get to have a vehicle without a suspension sit in my driveway all weekend and take another day off work to get it back on the road. Custom service ****."

Too much Packaging

"I ordered a part from RockAuto. It was 6 inches long and about 1 inch wide. The box it came in was 25x7x7, big enough for a full strut. Like why such a big box? Is it so the shipping will cost more, so the shipping company will make more money? If this keeps up i will stop buying from here. Absolutely no need of this."

Great online ordering.

"I have used Rockauto at least a dozen times. As long as I used PayPal ( they pay at that moment) the parts shipped in the next few hours. And the tracking was always right to my doorstep. This order I had parts coming from Texas. I ordered Monday afternoon and the part was delivered today. That's less then 48 hours. Now the parts were always what I needed because I took the time to make sure I ordered the right part. The other part from California is on its way and track shows Friday delivery. I am very happy with the that. Sometimes there are parts that have several if not more choices, if I don't research and make sure I have the right model or versoin of the vehicle. So I will continue to use them and smile."

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

"They take 10 times the time they say to receive your order. We got one part right and the other side wrong. Had to pay to return and a credit was issued, BUT now they do not recognise the credit or me. I have their credit issued statement and nothing! DO NOT TRUST THEM!! We have used them a few times and I guess we lucked out then. Any issue, they will screw YOU!"

Wrong part!

"Rock auto suggests fast shipping . . . vehicle down two weeks waiting for FedEx to arrive since RockAuto was very slow to dispatch. Sent the wrong brake pads . . . claimed I ordered the rear pads (my truck has rear shoes). Charged me for shipping both ways even though it was their screw-up. Customer service must be thought of as similar to how a farmer has his cow serviced as they didn't bother to respond to my letter detailing how their double charge would ensure "never again" for this completely dissatisfied customer.

My bet is there is a true paucity of humans in their order/customer service departments . . . those that are there seem ethically challenged!

T o put it simply never order parts from Rockauto. They sent defective compressor and will not replace it after hours trying to reach them.

"Will not replace defective parts even if you don't know they are defective until installed (compressor). Now it is installed and cannot return. Their warranties are a joke."

Core charge scam

"Needed new brakes and rotors. Rockauto had the best price. Bought 4 discs and calipers. Core charge was added. No big deal. Except when you come to return the core. They will not accept it unless it's in the original box but they don't tell you this on the front end. I had a local garage install them and the boxes are long gone. Bottom line rock auto keeps my core money and they are suddenly no longer the cheapest.
If you buy anything with a core keep the box or lose your money to these scammers!

Disappointed

"I had never used RockAuto before. I had heard good things. The price was good. I ordered my part and was told I would receive it within a few days. It's going to be over a week late. There is no good way to contact them. I agree with another reviewer that obviously they were having a difficult time addressing customer complaints. That is a bad sign for any company. I don't plan to use them again despite their prices if they can't keep there delivery days."

Horrible Customer Service & Damaged Product

"I've been ordering from them for years and recently bought 3 hoses for my '04 Sentra SE-R. The rad hose arrived with a very noticeable kink in it, so I submitted a return and was immediately issued a credit (without needing to return it). The other 2 were heater core hoses. One of them had the wrong I.D. so it didn't fit (a Nissan technician do the install), so I submitted a return request. Their system wouldn't provide me with a shipping label, so I paid $23CAD for return shipping. I received a refund for the hose but not for return shipping. I emailed them and their response was that it was my fault for ordering the wrong part. I tried replying to their email to say that the part was not ordered incorrectly since I used their vehicle lookup tool, but I got an automated reply saying that my "ticket" was closed. I sent 2 new emails to them and got an automated reply each time. I will never buy from them again."

Horrible - Never Again

"Bad weather coming Saturday, RockNeverAgainAuto website indicated in-stock with delivery by Friday FedEx Ground. RockNOTAuto printed only a shipping label a day later but nothing was actually shipped until late Friday which was the originally estimated delivery date of their website. Had to source parts locally on Friday and requested ScamRock cancelation refund Friday morning before actual pickup to no avail, refused delivery on Saturday and requested refund multiple times received no confirmation of cancellation and site does not accept a "package refused" entry so that they can then argue that you've done something to damage their parts I suppose? Why should I have to pay double or triple shipping charges to get a guaranteed delivery when they claim delivery will happen on Friday anyway?? If you have a week to do the job then say "on or before next week" not "on Friday"!!! Ended up charging me double shipping anyway despite the box never actually coming off the FedEx truck....still waiting for my now partial refund to appear in bank as of 4/20...a full ten days now and counting. Clearly the items were not actually in stock as represented and delivery estimates are a lie."

Part not recieved

"I ordered several parts, all came in but 1. They say they will send my part by the shipping method I had parts delivered. In my opinion, they should send them overnight or at least 2 day shipping. Their shipping rates are way overpriced anyway. I will never do business with this place again. Poor treating of something that was their fault. They act like it was my fault. I would give them zero stars if I could."

Never again!!

"Got a new power steering pump and reservoir combined unit. Got the new pump/reservoir installed, bled the air out after filling with high performance ps fluid and took it for a drive - worked great......... until I parked it in the garage and noticed the next day that there was a large pool of ps fluid on the floor. The pump/reservoir combination was put together with no O ring so the fluid in the reservoir just dripped out continually. Rock auto has no process available to easily rectify this issue. All I needed was an O ring and another bottle of ps fluid but NOOOOOOOOO - you need to buy another pump/reservoir, install it then send back the defective one for refund. Don't think I would trust that process to these guys. There is NO customer service!!!!
