Deceiving lingo on website especially for brake pads. Looks like your getting a great deal and then your screwed. Don't use them!

"Ordered brake pads and said front and rear for a price that was double the others and wound up with one pair. Expensive shipping and I will never use again....Last time I received a warped rotor and they wanted me to pay to return bad part....Cheats is what they are."

Cheaper Parts Higher Shipping

"So when I started with Rock Auto things were great, decent selection of parts at a decent price with Ok shipping costs from one location. NOW with my last two orders I have received parts from as many as 4 different warehouses on the same order, all charging over $10.00 per warehouse. So one oder shipping over 30 dollars an one order shipping over 40 dollars an when you are buying 125 to 170 dollars in parts that's a lot of shipping, which makes the parts suddenly not so good a deal. For example last order I got wipers from one warehouse shipping ten bucks, oil filter from another warehouse shipping ten bucks on a 4 dollar part, two belts from a third warehouse shipping ten bucks, an finally spark plugs, air an fuel filter from another warehouse an shipping ten bucks. That's right over 40 dollars shipping all on the same order of roughly 100 dollars in parts. I mean WTF, I think I am done with Rock Auto maybe they should change their name to Stone Auto as you would have to be "stoned" to pay those shipping charges."

Damaged and wrong parts.

"Ordered a bumper , pads for bumper and brackets. Driver would not let me inspect shipment. Bumper was scratched and dinged. They sent me a radiator support for a Kia Sorrento. They did not send the center bumper cover at all. I don't own a Kia. I paid extra to have Fed ex deliver and they sent it through R & L . Another bad company to deal with. Then it is impossible to talk to customer service about the problems. You should avoid using this company even if it costs a little more ."

Poor Customer Service

"I ordered a locking fuel cap for my 2005 Ford 500 and received same. I took it out of the box and inserted it into the fuel filler. Unfortunately, it was too small and the locking function did not work. I went on line to return it for a better (name brand) cap. I answered the requested questions regarding my purchase and when I got to the one about if I installed it, I answered YES. Unfortunately for being honest, the system deemed my part not returnable even though it was not damaged. Furthermore, after numerous email contact (no CS phone number) and no response, I mailed a letter to their HQ. This mail also met with no reply. Very unprofessional not to even acknowledge my concerns. "

Terrible Customer Service

"If you have an issue, good luck on getting it resolved properly. They don’t have a customer service line to call and don’t care if you have a problem. I ordered a CV axle meant for cars produced in the US. The VIN and Carfax shows it was manufactured and sold in the US. So I ordered an axle for my car made in the US. The part I received didn’t fit at all. When I submitted a complaint saying they sent me the wrong part their customer service rep, Samual, said I received the correct part so I must have ordered wrong. He tells me I should have ordered the part with a “Mexican flag” which indicates my car was produced in Mexico and that part will fit. Wtf?? Dude, Samual ...that is dumb AF. Rock Auto’s site is misleading and they won’t accept fault so now I have to pay the return shipping. I’m buying from my local parts store for now on. The slightly extra cost is worth it to not deal with bad customer service."

Poor quality parts u can't return they take your money and hide from customers

"I got the parts in to find out they were way overpriced low standard so I nicely taped the boxes up. didn't even look like I opened them payed the 17 bucks to ship back for a refund. I wrote them saying it's not what I thought I ordered I'm not gonna put plastic in my engine that's gonna burn out in a couple years. So few days later I get a message on my cell saying the seal was broken there's no way they can resale it. Relly can't replace a 30 cent box if so and he continued to say well the part is fine anyway send us 17 more bucks or were gonna throw the parts out ya right the way there hanging on to my money ya right it's a joke don't buy from them "

Terrible if you have a problem

"Placed an order, wanted to add an item 5 minutes later, but couldn't. Canceled the whole order and placed a new one with all parts I needed. All within a span of about 45 minutes at 9pm. Both orders shipped and were charged to my card. Now I have to pay to ship parts I didn't order back and not be refunded the original shipping either. Oh ya, and they have NO customer service phone number, so don't expect to be able to explain their screw up to them. Never again. There are too many other places to buy from that actually care about their customers."

Screw the customer, even if they spend THOUSANDS annually.

"I ordered a exhaust header for a 2008 JK that fit but didn't allow access to the number 4 spark plug and had to source a stock manifold locally to finish the customer car. I tried returning the exhaust header and basically got a cold shoulder, so I tried emailing rockauto [Ticket#103520930] and they closed the ticket without resolution and basically brushed me off. I'm just posting so that other people can know about the poor customer service. I spent $1,600 in the last 3 months (and several thousands over the last few years) and that doesn't matter in the least to these people. Take your business elsewhere!!!! Thankfully I'm only out $90 dollars for a **** I can't use and WONT sell to some poor customer. I'll probably frame it and put it in my lobby as to why you don't buy from RockAuto :)

No customer service.

"Ordered gas cap, didn't fit. Tried to return it and after filling out the form they state not returnable because I installed it.
Well how the hell was I suppose to know it didn't' fit until I tried to install it. It looked the same. The cam on the replacement was to deep. Not like the original. I verified the part for the model year and it should fit according to them.
Once the form was denied they left no further ability to return or find the correct part.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. Disputed charge with credit card company.

Usually has what I want at an affordable price

"I have ordered from Rockauto.com about 20 times because they have a very useful, easy to use site. You can narrow down the parts selection to your specific make/model/sub-model quickly and peruse only those parts relevant to your search which saves a lot of time and confusion when it comes to ordering the right part. my only issue with Rockauto.com is that unless your carefully select you parts and separate your orders so that the majority of your order comes from the same warehouse, the shipping fees can be much higher than they have to be. "

Stay away from rockauto

"Parts packed poorly arrived broken. There is no phone number to call customer service they claim to keep the prices down if you want customer service you have to go on to their website email them or fill out this BS form and then they don't do anything about it. Their parts are crap and they don't fit, there is no real clear description so you put in your info and you get what they think is right. If it is not then it is your fault for ordering the wrong part. Terrible customer service. "

One star because I have to put a star!!!!

"I received a incorrect part not putting that on them. But here I go to try to get the right one, and no customer service over the phone? So I requested a return online, and what do you know someone calls me in regards to it? The representative refused to offer help on finding the correct part and exchanging it. Not only that he continually said I was blaming him for the incorrect part even though I told him multiple times I was not blaming anyone. He continued to argue to the point where he refused to offer any service at all and hung up on my face. First and last order this company will receive."

They don't correct errors

"The first problem I had was when I bought shock absorbers specifically for a rebate. I never got the rebate but they wouldn't help. But the real problem came when they shipped me the wrong $75 part. Because it took be longer than 30 days to discover the error they refused to exchange the part for the right one.

Horrible customer service. They don't deserve our business.

Would give 0 stars if possible

"Worst customer service that I've seen in a long time. Ordered a part Sunday night and paid an extra $10 to have priority 2-3 day shipping. Figured I would get it by Thursday, which is what my confirmation order told me to expect. It's now Saturday night and my part still hasn't arrived. I tried to check the tracking on my package and the only update shown is for Pre-Shipment on Monday. I emailed the company to find where my package is and when I can expect it. They first tell me that it has been shipped and is in route but don't know where it is and then go on to say that they only have access to the same tracking information that I do which does not say it has been shipped. I asked for a refund for the priority shipping charges and they refuse saying that the shipping methods I chose allow my part to arrive as late as Feb 8th, even though my receipt does prove I paid for 2-3 day shipping, and refer me back to their website for any other issues I have. Will absolutely never do business with them again, nor will any of my mechanic friends who have been giving them business for quite a while."
