Rockauto claims no responsibility for shipping

"Parts seem good. When working through the ordering process, rock auto shows shipping options. I unfortunately choose DHL. They showed a delivery date of Friday and I paid double for the part due to the urgency. They show it is shipping now 3 days later. No phone call, no text, no email. Instead both the DHL and Rockauto act as if I am a sucker for trusting them. I will not again make that mistake. I am done."

parts do not fit. RockAuto doesn't take responsibility.

"Below is what rockauto.com response. In my opinion they should cover 100% of the return cost because it doesn't match what their claim. Even though they simply relay what the manufacturer says. RockAuto should take ownership of putting that description on their website. Customer should not be forced to pay part of the return shipment.

"We are sorry the part doesn't fit. The manufacturer says it should fit your vehicle and we are not sure why it does not. Since we shipped the part you ordered and you ordered correctly, it doesn't look like either of us made a mistake. Non-existant Customer Service...

"Paid a large amount of money for overnight shipping. 2 days later still no package. No phone number to call and personally speak to Customer Service. Only an email (that should be a HUGE red flag to anyone). When I sent an email, 36 hours later I finally get a response pointing me to a link on their website saying they aren't responsible for shipping delays. No follow-up on my package ETA, no help whatsoever. They don't care for their customers. If you are needing parts at a specific time, do not order from this company. You will not get it when they say you will. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. TRUST ME, AVOID ROCKAUTO.COM LIKE THE PLAGUE. Wish I could give them ZERO stars."

Always charge extra for shipping even when it's shipped to the wrong location I would not recommend buying from RockAuto.

"It was awful my parts were shipped to the wrong address and I was charged for it. Why is it my responsibility for your shipping errors."

why so many bad reviews?

"I have placed about 35 orders with RockAuto over the last 10 years or so and overall have been satisfied, otherwise, I would not keep buying from them.
The Rockauto website is very well organized allowing you to search by vehicle and look up the part you need or search by OEM p/n. (No false misdirects to parts that are for a completely different vehicle like the other major online retailer does.) Pricing is usually much cheaper than local auto parts stores.
Sure, I have had a few orders where the item didn't seem to be first quality (such as Anchor engine mounts, a shock unit, or hatchback strut assembly) but each time, I have been able to use their online system to process the issue and get a replacement, at no cost to me. I have also been able to return items. Yes, I had to pay return shipping in that case. But for the cost savings over the years, it has been worthwhile. You do have to explore options especially in cases where multiple parts are available, to check different shipping rates and delivery estimates. I typically see shipment ETA dates from a few days to more than a week, probably due to different warehouse locations.
I suspect that only the people having issues actually bother to write reviews!

Never again buying online

"They don't inspect the parts at all before shipping and lie about quality control. I hope there business burns to ground. Can you imagine installing a defective part and having an accident due to it. This company will definitely let that happen to you. China has better parts than this even."

Defective part

"Spent $1000 on new head light assy with just one of them defective. The turn signal did not work and we did verify this. We contacted Rock Auto and they told us send it back at your expense as we live in Canada. They told us basically to bad so sad. They totally ignored are follow ups with them since our first email. As a side bar the lights are from Dorman who in turn told us basically the same thing and not there problem. Both companies are crappy to deal with and refuse to answer any phone calls or emails. The customer service in both places got rude when I said I am to write the CEO of both corporations so this drives me even more to do that. The long and short is particularily with Rock Auto is and there are dozens and dozens on line of Rock Auto is that we got your money now fall off a cliff. Done dealing with ripoff crappy companies such as this so to all out there buyer beware to you"

Wrong part delivered, they can't send the correct part because it's out of stock.

"My truck needed brakes, pretty badly. I ordered from Rock Auto and received one rotor, and one idler pulley. Rock Auto has no phone number to contact for customer service. Their online "Customer Service" is a joke. I've now got to ship back the one rotor, because they don't have the other one in stock. I'm sure someone else has the rotor I bought and I've got their idler pulley. I will not be ordering from them ever again."

No customer service

"I’ve purchased hundreds of dollars in parts over the past 5+ yrs and had no issues . Then they sent me a part that was substantially different then what I ordered ( bait and switch). That’s when I found out they have NO customer service phone number. I fill out online return form , clicking on the blocks that best fit my situation ( no exact reason for return available) . They informed me that I had to pay return shipping fee ( never mind the original shipping fee) . I shipped back part within 2 hrs of of receiving it. I reported them to BBB and State AGO. I then got more negative email feedback from their customer service person. I ended up getting the part from Partsgeek.com ... great customer service , right part , fast delivery !!"

"I order parts and paid my full amount 485.00 and only received one part when I ask about the rest of my parts they said it's out of stock and we can only pay you.16.00 that's b....st I'm so **** that they false advertising to people I'm going to spread it over Facebook and other SITES."

zero customer service, do not trust!!!!

"sent an OBVIOUS wrong part, no customer service at all, buy somewhere else, good places out there that have good prices and customer service.
ALWAYS use your credit card, the card company will keep them honest, just takes time.
It could have been worse, this was a BlATENT and OBIvOUS wrong part, many other have ruined vehicles from this company!
And I noticed only ONE review site has any good ones, same state their employees are in!

WANTS TO PAY SHIPPING-for WRONG PART SENT TO ME

"This company is the worst! They sent me the incorrect part and to add insult to injury, they want me to pay for the shipping back to them! Unbelievable! This is for my work van and now the back door will have no latch because they did not send the right part! JUST AS BAD AS THAT- THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR SHIPPING BACK and THEY DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THEM WITH- It Must BE Done Strictly By Internet! Horrible Company! It USED TO BE GOOD- NO LONGER A GOOD COMPANY FOR ME TO DO ANY BUYING FROM!"

Ordered front struts

"We ordered Gabriel front struts and installed them. Now no local shop can do an alignment because the struts are defective (so defective that they rattle). The warranty is replacement of parts only, no refunds, so we can get our bad parts replaced with bad parts. Read their warranty information before you order. Then order from some other source."
