"After reading some of the negative reviews, I was ready to write a long tome about gray market products and bad customer service. I watched this Rhyther like a hawk and made notes every step of the way.
At the offset I knew I was in for a longer wait for using the free shipping option and Rhyther specifies this on the web site so I wasn't expecting fast delivery. It was no surprise.
I ordered the camera (Canon T3i w/lens) on Friday May 13th. On Sunday the 15th I was contacted by David at Rhyther asking me to confirm the order and shipping address. Although David made me aware of other accessories I could buy, it was not even close to hard sell. David was courteous and helpful and definitely not pushy. He said they would process the order in a few days. When I checked the web on the 19th, it said the camera was out for shipping. On May 24th I was notified by email that my camera had shipped. I was given an accurate FedEx tracking number.
The camera arrived today, two weeks from the day I ordered it. I was actually expecting next week. Although the Canon box was not sealed, everything in the box appears to be brand new. The Canon U.S. warranty card for both the camera and lens match the serial numbers on the equipment. This is a full U.S. version of the camera. I haven't registered with Canon but I foresee no problems.
Bottom line. I got a great price on a great camera from a company that more than kept its promises regarding service and delivery. I used Rhyther once previously about 18 months ago with the same result. "

"I ordered a Nikon D7000 camera body from Ryther. Seemed like a great deal. I purchased the item on the 13th of April, then received an email saying that my CC information did not match the address I had entered. After getting that all straightened out (the address was an exact match to my address on file, by the way) I called to get a shipping date and they tried to upsell me every possible way. They told me that they would upgrade my shipping - FREE - so that I could get my product as quickly as possible due to their error. This would have meant my camera would be here by the 18th. I did not receive any information or a tracking number, I contacted them only to discover my product had not yet been shipped. By this time, it was the 23rd of April. I finally got a tracking number the next day and my camera arrived - a full 13 days after it was ordered. In addition, the screen protector for the viewfinder is nowhere to be found in the box.
UPDATE: Was contacted by Ryther customer service on the 28th of April. I was asked what they could do to make me a satisfied customer. They offered to send me the viewfinder protector (FREE) and he also said that I would be getting a discount on my next purchase with them. Well, as promised, the protector arrived quickly. The Ryther employee wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with their service - and I am. Looking forward to using my discount with them on an accessory soon."
"The camera (Canon HFS21) is extraordinary in every aspect of its technology. It is easy to operate especially when in auto mode. For right now I found no need to change that. The HD quality is superb on the camera screen and also on the HDTV. My friends were amazed at the quality and high definition video taken by the camera's technology and the operator's ability to maximize its capabilities. The 64G internal memory is more than adequate for 5+ hours of high definition filming. It outperforms tapes from my previous digital camera and its technology.
I was unable to set camera presets. I've tried numerous times. I'm probably missing some steps to get there. I'll try again later."

"There was a sale for a deeply discounted Canon 7D body only. From looking on here, I felt that buying from this merchant wouldn't get me screwed over. I place the order on a Friday evening so I didn't expect anything to ship out until maybe Tuesday. On Monday and Tuesday I receive emails to call and confirm my purchase, which i figured was part of their upsale. After denying their extra batteries and then being informed that I was buying a grey market camera, which as others have said is *not* indicated on their website, I was assured several times over the phone that I would have by product by the following Monday. I wait patiently for a tracking number and after a few days I call and leave a voicemail the Friday following my purchase. My call was not returned despite being within their hours of operation, but the next Monday I did receive a tracking number and my camera arrived that Thursday. This was nearly 2 weeks and I paid for their 4-6 business day shipping.
I unpack the camera and get to business reading up on the various control scheme and options to customize it's operation in a number of ways. I take a few test photos, yada yada. After having a fully charged battery and the camera in my hands for about 3 hours, I all of a sudden cannot take photos. When I press the shutter release or use my intervalometer, the camera shuts down. Quick Google tells me this is caused by an internal short. Great, I bought a defective camera. I check the company's wesbite and their invoice and they have convenient lettering stating that they are not responsible for defective equipment once you've made the purchase. How is it ethical that they take $1200 of you money and if they sell you something that's broken, they are not responsible. This does not align with common sense or ethics. I left a voicemail requesting a call back by 1500 their time the next day, and again, not response. After had previously reading both sides of several negative reviews on here, their Customer Service is simply below par. I feel compelled to just avoid them instead of doing a lot of legwork for the money I spent.
I have the luxury of living near Irvine where the Canon repair facility is. Just for kicks I enter my camera into their website to check on a repair estimate. Camera pops up under warranty, free of charge repair.
I won't buy from this retailer for a couple simple reasons.
1) They do not tell you until after charging your card that you are buying a non-US/Import item which affects the standard 1 yr warranty
2) Once you have made a purchase, you better hope you don't have to talk to them again because they won't respond.
3) Once shipped the item will take the rated shipping time. Just have to wait a week until that happens...
4) Reputably non-responsive Customer "Service"
As long as your product works just fine from them and you don't need it quickly, go ahead and buy from them. This is the first time I've received a defective product after spending thousands online over the past 8 or so years.
Update: After the weekend I wrote this review I received a call and spoke with the same individual about my review. Supposedly I was shipped a US camera and that is why Canon serviced it (I care not, the repair was free and the problem solved) and due to the week delay in shipping time, I was refunded the extra cost of shipping, almost $34. Everything else I stated above holds true nonetheless."

"I bought the Canon T2i DSLR camera for a friend for her birthday. The shipping was fast, I got it sooner than expected and the packaging was great. I opened it up and went over it just to make sure it was perfect before giving it to her. I charged the battery so that when she opens it, she can start using it right away. The purchase process went really well and could not have been better.
