"So far, so good! The prices were super competitive and their support for sales was very helpful. If the lens does not work as expected (I have no doubt that it will) I will log back in and let you all know. The even increased the delivery speed."
"Although my order took about three weeks to be delivered, I must say that I am VERY PLEASED overall with the quality and value of the order. Ryther's prices are excellent, and the quality of the vast majority of items is excellent.
Ryther's customer service people are friendly and helpful, although I did experience hold time waiting for them, but out of three calls, only one was on hold for more than two minutes.
In summary, I would recommend Ryther, and I would certainly buy from them again!! Thank you for my order!!"
"First there was a problem, as during the final call to confirm the order it appeared that there was no manufacturer's warranty and a third-party battery. However, after my negative review I was promptly contacted by the reseller and the issue was quickly and satisfactorily solved. Now I am waiting for the camera to arrive, hote it is as advertised. "
"I don't know about other customers but RytherCamera has one of the best prices on cameras on the internet. I bought my first SLR camera the Canon EOS Rebel T3i and my friend was so impressed by its price and prompt delivery I decided to get another one for him through RytherCamera. Two thumbs up!!!!!!!!"
"It was very good! Camera was all I wanted it to be. "
"My experience was less, far less, than stellar. I purchased a Panasonic AG AC 160 video camera from Ryther on Jan 24,2012. My camera arrived on Feb 1st.
The camera would not opperate. I called Ryther and got an RMA and shipped out via UPS (insured for $5k) the next day ($178.95, my money spent returning their broken camera.
Time passed and I heard nothing. On Feb 15th I emailed that I had returned the camera and how soon would I get my replacement.
They responded asking for the UPS tracking number.
More time slipped by. I called Ryther and was told that they had not received my returned camera. I called UPS and filed a claim. UPS responded that they had delivered the camera on Feb 10 and that Ryther had signed for it.
I called Ryther, they said they had not received it and that I should contact UPS. I called UPS they re-opened the claim.
Weeks dragged by. Finally on March 13 I got a call from UPS saying they had delivered four packages to Ryther Camera on Feb. 10th, mine and three others. Two of the packages were COD and Ryther had written checks to UPS. In other words UPS had absolute proof that they had made the delivery.
I called Ryther with this news, they said they did not have the package. I called UPS and asked them to call Ryther.
The nextday I called Ryther who FINALLY admitted that someone in their organization must have stolen the package.
I asked for a complete refund of my order and then had to listen to a ten minute whine about how much money they were going to lose.
I told Ryther that if they could get me a NEW functional camera within 4 days they could keep my order. The camera arrived and seems OK.
My main problem with Ryther is that throughout this whole 47 day experience I was the one who had to do all of the leg work, they took no pro-active position at all.
If this had happened to one of my customers I would have sent them a return credit with their RMA and I would have known that someone in my group had written checks to UPS and that the missing package was stolen. I would have done this on the first day.
Ryther Camera is just not a place where a professional wants to buy from.

"Well, I"ve got to admit I was more than a little apprehensive about ordering a camera from Ryther. I work for a non-profit and have a VERY limited budget and so when I saw their prices I was enticed. They listed a Canon 7D package for $1660.52 here: http://www.rythercamera.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=31730
WOW!! It had everything we needed--a tripod, a flash, CF card, CF card reader, backpack, etc and at a great price. So I ordered it. Then I got an email that I needed to call to confirm my order from David. I called, hesitantly. That's when i found out it was a gray market camera (no mention of that on the website, all it says is "brand new"). So I asked him how much for the USA version. For some reason they didn't have that package with a USA camera?!? He said they had a comparable package for $1899--minus the backpack, minus the flash, minus the tripod--things I really did need. He explained that the flash in the other package was cheap anyway and I wouldn't like it! I decided to place the order, I figured I was still coming out ahead because I was getting a 16GB CF card (which I was going to need anyway), a CF card reader, a CF wallet (which is always handy), and a remote switch (again very handy) for the same price i would have paid at B&H for the camera/lens. David pushed me hard to buy the extended warranty but relented when I explained I had no money left in my budget. My order arrived on March 7. Most of it. MIssing was the card wallet, "Deluxe Lens Care & Maintenance Package", the REmote switch, the image software, the cleaning cloths, and the mini tripod. But I did get the camera, CF card, and lens so I was happy about that. I called Ryther and talked to their customer service department. He apologized and placed a new order for the missing items. I've got to say he was very polite and helpful. So about a week later I get my order. Most of it. Missing was the mini-tripod. Oh, and the CF Reader isn't working with my card. So today, March 21, I emailed David, my original sales rep, and asked him to please send the tripod and another CF reader. He was very prompt getting back to me and said he'd take care of it. So what did I end up with that I wouldn't have gotten had i just order through B & H? Essentially a CF Card and remote switch--the rest of the package was garbage--which translate to maybe $30? That was a lot of hassle for $30. I will update this review if I get the tripod and a working CF reader."
"I was mistakenly sent the wrong camera. Ryther quickly corrected the problem by immediately sending me the right camera and did not wait to do so until the incorrect one had been received by them.

"I hate games. I'm in sales and been selling cars for 10 plus years yet this camera shop try to play. I order the sony A77, chose the paypal option(added protection) and called them to confirm etc. Sales guy came on and tried to sell me batteries, I declined & he offered to give me a 4hr for the same price as the 2hr battery but I declined.
Then he asked if I want the USA or import version. I said I didn't know you were selling two different versions and what is the difference. Said import don't come with a warranty & USA comes with a 1yr warranty. This is not in the product discription and I even called days before ordering & someone said the camera is the same. Would of been nice if he had mentioned the warranty.
WILL NOT BUY HERE based on the way they conduct business. It's not about the price because I have a $2300 budget for the a77. "
"David was helpful, did waste my time and helped me get what I was looking for. I will continue to use RytherCamera as a shopping destination."
"Ryther had the best price for the item needed. Though a third party accessory was purchased which did not work with the camera, it was replaced with an equivalent original manufacturer's accessory."
"3/9/2012 I have been trying to get a camera since 01 Mar, after going through the paypal ordeal, I finally put it on my credit card, I show it has been charged and ordered on 3/2, I called yesterday 3/8 because I still don't have any email stating I ordered the package deal. I was told I would receive it by 3/20, so I'm going to hit 3 weeks trying to get this camera and hoping it's going to be the real deal. I texted Victor the manager a few times yesterday with no responses and emailed since the beginning of the week with no responses, so needless to say I am feeling very uncomfortable with this order. Of course there is no tracking number or email as of my typing this.
I will update once (if) I get the camera. I can say this entire ordeal has not been worth the $200 savings. All other comments on the negative side have came true thus far, I was hoping I would be on the positive side when I gave them the benefit of a doubt with all the mixed reviews.
Chris
***UPDATE*** I just talked to Customer Service and feel a little more comfortable. I will change my rating if all goes as he explained, and I appreciate him finally sending me an email with my order.
***UPDATE*** 3/15/2012 I received my camera yesterday and everything is perfect and I have a brand new camera. I will give them a thumbs up and I'm extremely happy with my camera. Even though we had a rocky start, I will purchase from them again...
***UPDATE*** 3/19/2012 My luck didn't last as long as I had hoped for. I found a black spot on my view filter or mirror, took it to a Canon shop and told I should return it to the company. No luck on getting a response from the company yet. Only been two days so we shall see how that goes. I'm so not looking forward to having to send my camera back. I love the 7d! Stay tuned.
Chris"
"When I first saw the website and the price wasn't too high, I jump right onto the internet and do some research. I also got into this review website and read all the review from good to bad comments. I found one that have a guy name Victor and have his extention on, so I though to give them a try so I did. I call him and he sound like the want my business so I decided to order from them. Although I put the order, I have this fear about the review and my fear did come true. My order just sit there for a week and I call them and one of the sales person told me that my order already send out but I told him that there's no tracking number. He check and told me that it was on the way here next week and told me to wait. I got upset and told him that it was a 4-6 business days but why turn into 2-3weeks. He then say that he will ship one out right now and I should get it within 3-4days. He then send out a tracking number right away but it was a wrong number and they don't even bother to email the right one again until I call Fedex myself and being told there's no shipment under that number. I call and they told me it was a wrong tracking number and gave me the right one. I did got my shipment on that time frame but I was at work and my wife accepted it. She called me a told me that the box was very bad and that she could see the foam coming out of the box. When was upset thinking something might be wrong with my items. When I got home, I saw the box and couldn't believe my eyes. They used only one round of tape and couldn't careless of what happen to my item. I open it and found out that my lense was in the white box and I missing some items. I called rythercamera the next day and told them what happend. They say that they didn't know it was taped like that and apology for it and also say that it may fall out because the box was open little bit. I told him that my items worth thousand of dollars and that's how they taped it and take care of it and he then just apology about it and say he will take care of the situation. I'm still waiting for my missing items in the mail. One thing I don't like about rythercamera is that they keep using the excuse that they're small company and they try their best. I don't think they try yet, because I belive buying is like dating. Your first impression matters to the other person or party so even if you're small company, you need to put your mark on the market. You need to show what you are and that customer are indeed important to you not just saying it but doing it. I hope to get all my items with the second shipment but I will not coming back to this company and will not recommend anybody to buy from it. I should have go back to my reliable source but I though of giving them a chance and they screw it, so I'm going back to my original source from now on. If you planning to buy online, it's better to spend a few dollars more to get better services and original items in original packet. So all I have to say is that beware of this company and think twice before order anything or you will suffer like I did.
Update:
I got a call from customer services and he explain to me what happend and apology for what they have put me through. I got an offer of sending an additional card in the mail for my services so I guest they do try to improve somehow. If you want a cheap prices than you go with rythercamera. I hope they improve fast adn learn fast about customer services so that they don't loose anymore customer like myself. I still recommend you guys to shop because they are physically there but just little bit slow at processing. Good luck on your shopping.
Final Update:
I got my missing items in the mail and I was hoping to see all of them except when I open the box, I still missing the mini tropod. I was shock to see that they promise to takes care of my missing items but I guess they don't. I'm now tire of their words and I'm not going to change my words and my mind now and to me it won't matter anymore whether they send my item or not. I'm done with them."
"I researched here when I was considering dealing with Ryther. I became skeptical after reading reviews. I went for it anyway. My order was accepted, processed and filled within the time they promised. The product (Canon 550D with lens) I received was just as advertised and all is well. I must say my experience with Ryther has been nothing but positive."
"I purchased a 5D Mark II off of the Ryther website last night. I called first and talked to a sales person to confirm the 5D was available and if Friday delivery was possible. He confirmed the availability and he also explained the reason for the low price was because the camera offered an in house warranty vs Canon. He also said that to get the camera by Friday I would need to select 2 day FedEx. He was very helpful. I placed my order with Paypal payment and added 2 day FedEx delivery. After submitting my order a message prompt said I would receive Paypal payment instructions. I received no payment notification so I called this morning about making payment. The Customer Service person told me I would receive and email in the hour. He also asked about buying a different battery and extended warranty but I declined. It's been 5 hours and I have not receive any instruction/notification on how to make payment. After reading the mixed reviews on this site it looked like the service had been improving so I went ahead and ordered the camera. The lack of communication and follow up has me concerned that I won't get what I ordered and I won't get the camera delivered in 2 days.
I'll update my review and ratings based on how things progress with my order.
2/22/12, 9:20pm: I received notification for payment a couple of hours ago, about 24 hours after submitting my order, so this may be the process. Payment was submitted and I'll update if the camera is shipped/received FedEx 2 day and includes all boxed accessories. Will update later.
2/24/12, Called Customer Service to confirm shipment of camera. Customer service rep was extremely helpful (don't recall her name). She said the package would be shipped Next Day at no additional charge due to the delay in processing the order. There was an issue with different email addresses. Manager called me back shortly after and tried to sell a higher capacity battery and I declined. Offered to sell a Canon warranty vs grey market for $150.00 and I took it. I received email that evening that the camera was shipped.
2/27/12, Received camera.I've received a few follow up calls from the Customer Service manager since I received my order.
Summary: As many have mentioned in other reviews the service is hit and miss and you need to follow up to make sure your order moves through the system. Had I not needed the camera in a short period of time my concerns may have been less of an issue. Half of the conversations/interactions I had were positive/helpful the other half not so much. The price was good and the item was as advertised. Thank you to the Ryther people who were helpful in my purchase."
