I recently visited my sister, and after a great nights sleep on her new mattress realized it was time for a new mattress as well. So, I started researching mattresses online to see what technologies were now available.
I was surprised to see how the traditional coil spring mattresses have now been taken over by a wide variety of “foam” products. I also noticed the many online companies who are now doing business directly with the consumer. Could traditional brick and mortar mattress stores be a thing of the past? No way! How can you purchase something as important as a mattress without even trying it first? Well it seems as though they have figured this out. They provide up to a 120 night trial period. So with that resolved, I started focusing on the products.
We have slept on “memory” foam and other “foam” beds in the past and didn’t care for them. (They foam doesn’t breathe as well, and your body can create a depression in the foam that makes it harder to change positions) So we ruled out foam products and started looking at more traditionally constructed products.
We also are concerned about our health so we looked for a manufacturer who offers products that are made with organic and non-toxic materials. (Who wants to spend 1/2 of every day breathing harmful chemicals?)
We also wanted a company that also focused on using overall high quality materials and craftsmanship. (We would like this mattress to last another 22 years).
