"I purchased the Sainsmart Genmitsu 3018 Pro CNC router at a discount. The box arrived, well-packed and secure. Assembly took a few missteps as the directions weren't comfortably clear, but I managed to work through it. Hint: get some blue thread lock once you are positive you have it right. I plugged the unit in, loaded the driver and software on a brand new laptop, and it wouldn't connect. Tried everything to no avail. Last resort, I ran the firmware updater and smoke rose from the X-axis driver board, and the error LED lit for the X-axis just above the connector. I tried swapping the Y and X driver boards, but the X still had an error. I contacted Sainsmart with my story and they shipped a new controller board, which I received within 3 days. I swapped boards, removed and reinstalled the driver and software and it connected. I'm still learning and need to make Z-axis adjustments, but it appears the unit works perfectly. The locking tabs to hold the material to the bed could be better, so I made a strap out of 1" aluminum flat stock for better traction. You bought this because you're a maker anyway, right? Sainsmart ran a Father's Day special on specialty bits and I now have a very complete setup. I'll probably get the laser later. Overall, Sainsmart was easy to work with, the price is right, construction is solid, software is intuitive, and I think I made the right choice. My bucket list includes trying this with a Raspberry Pi 3 due to concerns with dust. Check their website for more cool stuff, especially electronic test equipment."

When I received my DSO212, it was dead on arrival (no charging or an other functionality). Within 24h of my initial message to customer service about the issue, the replacement unit was on its way.

With this functioning unit I found the product description to be accurate and the product performed as I expected. All the accessories are as described and I find them to be good/acceptable quality.
