"A year or two ago my experience was always great. Now it's not good at all.
I called tech support about my E61 group head leaking and asked did I need a gasket. She said yes, of course, and they're listed on the web site. Tone of voice indicated it was a dumb question and she wanted to get off the phone. Plus, a good tech support answer, I now learn, would have included the suggestion that I get a screen as well (maybe other parts?). There was no engagement with my issue; just wanted to end the call.
Then when I went to order the gasket and a few other things I'd had in mind, the shipping cost was equal to or more than the product costs! I must never have ordered less than $50 before. I called sales and said this must be a mistake - the shipping costs are way too high. The response was dismissive impatience...she can't do anything to adjust the shipping cost - I can take it or leave it. I could not really find a good way to get over $50 (the screen would have done it but I didn't know to look for them and you don't seem to have them), so I looked to get the gasket at Chris or Espresso Parts. I had no success so I came back and ordered 3 gaskets, thinking to optimize the shipping costs. But, no, the shipping costs went up with the total cost, obviously unnecessarily. And then when it came it was way over-packaged.
So I get it that Seattle Coffee Gear doesn't want small orders but they should also understand that that is an alienating policy and must drive good customers away as it has me."
