I suggest that SCG, as far as possible, indicate at the time of purchase when an item is out of stock. Also, when informing a purchaser about a back-order or out of stock issue, make it clear that the remainder of the order will not ship until the missing item is available. For this order, everything was in stock and all the items arrived in 5 business days."

"I just bought an open box Rancillo Silvia 3 and grinder from Seattle Coffee Gear (SCG), after much deliberation and research. Right now I am very happy with my purchase, and am experimenting with getting the "best" cup, but even the mistakes are a lot better tasting then other machines I have used in the past or coffee I have purchased from cafes!

I found SCG's videos and website very helpful. When I called, their answering machine was acting up, but I was still able to leave a message and Gail called me back within two hours of leaving the message. Gail said that they knew about the problem and were working on it.

The Silvia's footprint, open box prices and our price point aided in our final decision, since our other choice was the Rocky Celinni/Giotto. Gail answered all of my questions and was able to articulate the differences of using these two machine, without trying to "sell" one product over another. She asked me more about what I was looking for, so that we could discuss the options that best fit my needs and price point. Of course, after all of this research it was an added bonus that both the Silvia and grinder were recommended to me as the best combination for home espresso from a dear friend and coffee master, who has the coffee roasting company "Doma" in Idaho."

"Seattle Coffee Gear mostly delivered. Excellent product selection. Pricing equally good. Very helpful video demonstrations of products and benefits of each. Products bought arrived when I expected them, and all at once. The only downside is that the website ordering experience was less than good, unnecessarily time consuming and difficult. A couple of package options were offered and then not recognized in the ordering process so I had to order separately and pay more for the products in doing so. (Only $10 more and the pricing on the site generally is very fair, but the effect on customer experience made it feel a little like bait and switch.) One product was not in stock, but there were other good alternatives available. I have already recommended SCG to others in this area based on quality and scope of products offered. "
