"I really like this multi-zone mattress, because it has really lessened the pressure points at my shoulders. I don't weight very much so I prefer a firmer bed, but this always causes problems for my shoulders. My wife has a completely different body type, but she was able to adjust the bed so it is comfortable for her as well. Customer service was also great and they got the bed built and shipped before they had originally estimated.

I did a ton of research before buying this bed and had considered several others (sleep number, Boyd, etc.), but this had the best warranty, by far, and all of the features we were looking for. I should mention that we have tried latex mattresses, inner spring, and inner spring & latex mix, but nothing really worked for both my wife and I until we found this multi-zone air mattress."

"Bryan was the reason we decided to buy this bed. He provided us facts and not the "sales talk" on how the Airpedic 800 bed stacked up against the Sleep Number I8. Though we would have to wait longer to get the Airpedic, because they make to order, it really seems worth the wait for a custom, well-made bed that has more functionality than the Sleep Number -- that is backed by a great warranty. I have terrible back issues and having a bed with 3 different zones I can adjust will make a world of difference. I hope the bed is as good as the people they have working for them!

"I purchased the Air-Pedic 1000 eastern king split top. I am a side-only sleeper. She is a back and side sleeper. Side sleepers are by far more discerning due to the pressure points on the shoulder and head bending down.Having tested all kinds of bed types all over our area, my wife and I decided on the Sleep Number 360 i10. After choosing the bed, we comparison shopped we came across the Personal Comfort A10 Smart Bed and Air-Pedic 1000 which offer similar specifications to the i10. The Personal Comfort sales rep admitted they did not actually test the Sleep Number i10, but owned the similar Personal Comfort A10 model. NOTE: We were very concerned that these mattresses had differences to the i10, as this would be an online purchase without testing. I also did not like their marketing method online - they advertised a discount but financing it increased the price by $400.00 in fine print. I fired them on the spot - I don't put up with that stuff and neither should you. However, Air-Pedic sales reps (two separate individuals I talked to) actually DID testify to personal experiencing and assured that the Air-Pedic 1000 would be a close feel. Big purchase here. A better assurance to me. The bed has customization options that Brian explained. If needed, to get the mattress to align my back, he'll explain how to flip the foams or even exchange a layer or two along with the best pressure settings. Basically he will work with me to get the plushness I need. My arm falls asleep a lot with my current foam bed... The two folks I talked to were not pushy - at all. I honestly felt they actually believe in the product they sell. A refreshing sign as it is a fact that the entire mattress business is a sham from the consumer's point of view (where do I start?) All the specifics were explained in detail along with the small print gotcha's about the restrictive return policy that the mattress business is so well known for - at least Selectabed is more honest about situations of returning a large mattress. Warning: Don't expect anyone to accept adjustable bed returns, just the mattress - this an industry-wide low bar. The final price-tag was competitive (relative to their competitors) and shipping freight was fully explained. That being said, mattresses are simply overpriced and selectabed is no exception. The material costs do not correspond to the high price of mattresses. But the Air-Pedic 1000 was cheaper than Sleep Number i10 by 40% and it is of better quality - in my humble research. The mattress is made in California but note that the ENTIRE pump assembly is MADE IN CHINA. Selectabed is encouraged to disclose this information to the consumer. Now, more bad news. The consensus in other reviews is that you will not receive your mattress for at least 4 weeks. I received mine no earlier than 6 weeks after sale! Oh my! They don't build until you finalize the sale - but that just plain ****. The pump arrived first via UPS (week 5) and a week later the mattress arrived via Saia Freight. Sleep Number only allows white glove at 199.00 shipping cost, but since Air-Pedic is shipped as a whole unit, the shipping costs were half for me and no need for assembly. It arrived with no issues or any damage. Slightly bad news. All these beds are advertised as 3 zones per side, well, there are only 2 ADJUSTABLE zones per side. This should be better disclosed, I was a little miffed about this type of marketing strategy. The head/feet is one adjustable zone and the center is the second adjustable zone. Now the not-so-bad news. I think it's not such a bad thing. Most people complain that Sleep Number has a "hammock effect" and this bed did actually prevent this for us. Also, the additional adjustable zone will increase user complexity. I settled with this, positively, after looking at the overall goal of comfort. All in all, the comfort of the Air-Pedic 1000 is actually as plush or just a little plusher than the Sleep Number i10 in our opinion. We are happy, and that is the goal. The items mentioned here would not prevent me from recommending or buying another Selectabed mattress but it is good information by which to at least know up front for others whom might spend a large sum on a mattress. We did not purchase an adjustable bed option, maybe later. God bless. "
