"When my coolant was leaking they didn’t try to sell me extra stuff like other car places have. They put the coolant in for me, checked my engine temperature, checked to see if I had a slow or fast leak, and made sure I had extra coolant and a jug of water to refill the tank if it draned again. They were concerned about my safety and showed me how to know if my engine was too hot. I would recommend them to anyone."

"I bought a harmonic puller for $20 and used it one time the same day. the bolts snapped. I then purchased one from Harbor Freight for half the price and it worked. I attempted to return the part the next day and they refused stating "they don't return tools is that condition". I asked them if it worth a customer for life and they replied... " so be it."

"Literally the worst car parts store I’ve ever had to deal with! Where do I start, 1. Thier customer service is terrible(If you want to talk to customer service it’s guaranteed to be a half hour before you talk to someone. 2. Apparently they are intertwined with Carquest but they don’t mention anything about it when you order your parts. I ordered the parts online and went to pick them up from what I thought was advanced auto parts, come to find out was a car questNo mention of that anywhere so I had no idea. 3. They didn’t seem to care that I was upset and now couldn’t get my part because the car quest closed at 3 not 5 like advanced auto parts.Worst experience I’ve ever had and wouldn’t recommend this place for parts to anyone."
"Tried to place order online. Nothing would go through. So went to local store was told that shipping was charged on in store orders but would ship to my home. Week and half went by no part, called store was told part had been there. I asked why did you not call to tell me. The girl said we don't do that. Well excuse me when I ordered it you said it's ship to home so how am I to know. Now you say they don't ship to home but to store. Why didn't the guy who put order in know that? I thought this was a decent company but now I think not. If online shipping is free on my order why not in store? It's you that ran out of stock. And we all know the place you get parts from shipped to store free. So you stole 6 bucks from me for a 7 buck part less than 4 ounces in weight

"I waited on hold for an hour then was transferred to a voicemail that was full, their call center needs to be overhauled, they managers that run it must not be competent enough to put systems in place to make sure people receive quality service. I used to be in CS myself at various call centers and this would never happen, clearly the people running things don't care or the are inept or both.

"Terrible customer service. I placed online order and the next day, I traveled 40 min to store where it was supposed to be in stock. Employee said, "About that...I looked for it last night and could not find it..." He had my number and address. He could have called me, but let me drive that far for nothing. Then I called customer service. I was on hold for 15 minutes. The automated message said I could leave a message. I went to leave a message and it said, "the voice mail box is full." Then it cut me off. Then I got online to chat. It said, all of our representatives are busy, click here to leave a message. I clicked and it said, "You cannot leave a message right now." ...REALLY? "I bought Unlock Holding Locksmith Tool online. It arrived in opened and defective. This was apparently a returned item turnaround shipment with scotch tape around the package. They are making sure to wipe out their inventory shelf by shipping. Now I need to find a time to bring this item to the local store for full refund."

"Attempted to get information about a car battery before purchase. Specifically, reserve capacity. Called provided number and was disconnected after I asked the question. Called back, explained that the website did not show that spec. on the battery I wanted to purchase. The woman I was speaking with couldn't find it either. She called another dept., they didn't know either. She checked MSDS, no info. Called the manufacturer ( Johnson Controls) still no help. They told her to have me call the local store and they would have that info. I did, they didn't. They just guessed based on the general battery group. Next, I called corporate customer service to provide them with an account of my experience. On hold for over 20 min. then disconnected. Only one avenue left. Try chat. He referred me to specs. on the product webpage. of course it wasn't there. He next gave me a spec. that his associate gave him. When I asked where I could verify that info. he end chat. Sooo.... I can't get the info. I need to make an informed decision about their product. ****"
"I do not recommend purchasing any parts from this store, they are cheap junk. For instance I replaced universal joints on my Jeep with their cheap junk parts and they needed to be replaced not even a year later. I also purchased a supposedly Best car battery from them and it is junk within the year.
Also, they are thieves. There was a mishap with a number being wrong on our direct deposit and 3 checks went into the account they all were resubmitted and cleared. Advanced Auto is the only company that has made an issue out of it, even though they received their payment with no issues they attacked my bank account for a $30. fee. We called the store that we made the purchase at and the manager took our number and said he would be in contact if the fee needed to be paid. He never called, then I received a letter in the mail today concerning the fee it stated that it would take the money directly from my account but if I preferred to pay another way to call. They attacked my account today! They never even gave me a chance to pay another way.The other 2 companies have not raised any issue. I have spent a lot of money at Advanced Auto but I will never spend another nickel there ever. Thieves selling junk."

"I bought a starter for my car on June 19 2012 from Advanced Auto parts located on 800 North main street, Blacksburg , VA, and after exactly 11 months (May 2013) my car did not start and I had to take it to the mechanic and he said that the starter needs to be replaced! Honestly I was shocked because I am not supposed to have any problem with it since it was replaced in less than a year! The starter has a limited life time warranty, so the mechanic contacted Advanced Auto parts for a replacement and I had to pay $148 for labor for the second time. On Oct 28, 2014 my car did not start and the mechanic checked everything in the car including the battery and again it is the STARTER !!! The mechanic changed the starter as in the second time and I had to go through all the frustration and also pay another $148 for the third time for labor! I went to Advanced Auto parts on north main street to talk to them because the least I can get from them is an apology! The first employer I talked to although he did not do anything helpful but he was polite until another employer came asking what I want exactly, and I gave him the documents and he said we cannot do anything about it unless you take that starter out and we can give you your money you paid for the starter back! He was so rude and did not even bother to say sorry! I left the place because they wasted my money and caused me troubles and that employer does not worth any minute of my time to be wasted talking to him. I am not going to deal with you Advance Auto Parts and my advise to others is (((DO NOT deal with them)))."
