"When I need auto parts & supplies, I buy from either Autozone or Advance Auto. Generally I prefer Advance Auto--Autozone doesn't even allow the use of coupons with in-store pickups (which is insane)--but I was extremely annoyed with a recent order.
My car battery died, and I needed a replacement that night. Long story short, the store hours posted on the Advance Auto website were incorrect, so I wasn't able to pickup my order that night. After shuffling my schedule for the next day, I called their customer service to speak my mind, and they were extremely helpful. I had planned to boycott Advance Auto after this (major) inconvenience, but they treated my issue as a serious matter, offered fair recompense, and generally made me feel like my business was appreciated.
Even after a major debacle, a company can still shine, and Advance Auto accomplished that--at least in my eyes. The store reps were very apologetic when I arrived to pickup my order. They may have some problems, but I absolutely will do business with Advance Auto again."

"Ordered items Saturday evening for in store pickup. Visited the store later the next day to pick them up. They never pulled the item off the shelf and sold out. When I asked when the item would be available for pick up, they stated the truck comes in Thursday and I should call back. When I asked that they call me when the item arrives, they stated that they probably wouldn't remember to call! Terrible customer service and it turns out this was the manager! When I called their 800 number to see if they could provide better service, they were just as inept as the store. There is no sense of accountability in this company. "
"Ordered a GPS from Advance Auto Parts online with In-Store Pickup option. The item was in store when I placed the order. Next day, I drove 10 miles to the store for picking up GPS. The salesclerk said they could not find the GPS. So this order was just a time waste, and I drove 20 miles (two ways) for nothing. Disappointed."
