"I've been a customer for over 8 years .. always liked the site, the products, quality, speed to receive, etc. Then the last 6 months ALL BAD NEWS & this CHRISTMAS STINKS with them! This was my last straw! Holiday cards, simple, 5X7, w/ one photo took over 8 days to ship, and 3 different shipments?? 10 of the printed items were unusable with a stain marking running along the photo. Then, 1 additional day later, my return address labels w/ photos came printed backwards!! The photo & address is on the waxy paper side and the stickers were BLANK!! they offered to send another batch over night but its too late for Christmas cards! Boy have they made a huge mistake at their MOST lucrative time of year ! I'll be doing some review of new photo sites after the holidays!"
"Terrible expirence took me 8 hours to make one book, because the custom builder kept freezing. Tried customer service and only thing she suggests is downloading a whole new browser! My browser is new and fully updated and works on every other site! Then they advertise free shipping, but not with anything discounted, which is almost everything on the site. You also have to click through three windows to find where it says that. Awful I ended up not even buying anything what a waste of time."
"I've been a customer of Shutterfly for over 5 years. As a valued customer, I receive frequent emails from them offering special discounts. I worked for weeks on a special photo book for my grandson for Christmas. On the last day of the special discount, I finished, and tried to place my order. Unfortunately, I was unable to save the last two pages of my book. I had worked for hours on those!! Each time I hit "save" I would get a message that said "failed save!" I not only lost the last 2 pages I had made, but because I was unable to save it, I couldn't order it and missed the discount. I went to their "live chat" and waited 15 minutes before I got Nishit. He/she said I must have done something wrong and that is why it wasn't saving. I assured he/she that I had been saving after each page and was unable to do that again, in order to save and place my order. The next response was "I'm sorry". I appreciated that, but needed the issue resolved so I could order my book! Nishit finally said that they were having problems with their system and that is why my book couldn't be saved. Why wasn't I told that from the beginning? I must be a gluten for punishment because I decided to give them one more chance. I received an email this morning that stated they were having the biggest sale of the year...a world series, a whopper, AND 50% off cards WITH free shipping. I browsed their site for 15 minutes trying to locate the cards that were 50% off. Again, I went to their "live chat" and Pranay A. said my email was wrong and cards weren't 50% off. As I pressed he/she and stated it was false advertisement, he/she said that my email clearly states "up to 50%!" I asked again...which cards are 50% off. The response, "I'm sorry!" So, clearly they are instructed to back their way out if they aren't sure how to proceed. I asked again where I could find the 50% off cards. Then he/she said that only the 5x8 stationary cards were 50% off. Why wasn't I told that in the beginning? Very poor customer service. The website is hard to navigate! I'm going to look to see if I can find better service elsewhere."
"I recently ordered our families Christmas cards and address labels through Shutterfly. Our daughter was married this summer and we have many wonderful family pictures to pick from. The wedding was out doors and their colors were bright green and mango. I was able to find a cute backround to go with it. I was very pleased with how the cards turned out, and I loved the convience of making them at home and not having to go into a store and wait in line or come back to check proofs. I was able to take advantage of the special 40% off which I really appreciated. The color quality of Shutterfly is very good, and the variety of designs are fun and bright. I liked that I was able to add my own text on the back to personalize our card as well. Yes, I look forward to ordering more projects through Shutterfly. "
"Shutterfly used to be a good photo service with a lot of user friendly features and articles. But since a year or two (speaking as of 2012) the quality has significantly deteriorated. The print-quality of photo prints is decent at most. The image quality in photo books has become abysmal: Grainy, low resolution, crude. A photo Xerox can do a better job. Customer service has been outsourced to India.
There are ever more bells and whistles in design options. But the core, on which everything hinges, photo quality, has become so bad that lots of customers have started to return their photo books.
They do not want a refund in money.
They want awesome photos.
I have been a customer for 10 years.
But a few months ago I made the switch and will not use Shutterfly again.

"I have been creating an ordering calenders from Shutterfly.com for over 3 years now. Creating the calendar is easy and they are one of the few that allow the image to be printed all the way to the edge of the heavy card stock paper. The finished product is awesome. My photos look great printed on the calendar. Shipping has always exceeded my expectations. I wish the calendars were less expensive, but they have specials often enough to keep me coming back for more."
"I used to be a huge fan of Shutterfly, but I am now deeply disappointed in this company. I began making Photo Books on their site six years ago and have spent over $500 on their products, all with the expectation that my photo books would be safe on their site. Not so. They made a formatting change and now those books that I spent countless hours creating over the years are no longer available to me. I'm just sick about it and I no longer trust them to keep my memories safe. I will be finding a different site to store my photos and on which to create new photo books."

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I ordered a photobook from them on Oct 2 and was promised to have it delivered today. I not only did not received it as promised but when I called their customer service and after holding for over 30 minutes I was told that they hadn't even started on the book and that there was no way I would receive today and in fact they couldn't get it out until the next week. I paid for overnight shipping to garauntee to receive it by a certain date. They should not be offering this service if they are not able to meet the demands! They also did not notify me when they knew they could not meet the deadline. I had to call them. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS UNRELIABLE COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Wow, where do I begin! I have never been so disappointed in a company in my life.
They say they don't delete your pictures but they sure do stop you from editing your Photo books if you don't finish it in a timely manner. Now I have a half done photo book and no way of editing it. For my connivance they would give me 10 dollars off a hundred dollar photo book that is how much my business meant to them. They are Over priced.. and the last book I got fell apart. I would spend my money else where!"
"I had a voucher for a free photobook and was very pleased with how easy it was to customize the layout, etc. I paid extra to make my own storybook out of my son's pictures and it was a lot of fun getting to write the story myself. When I got the book, it was very well-made and I am very, very pleased and it's so much fun showing my nine-month-old a storybook based on pictures of him. Everyone who's seen it loves it and the quality is so much better than that of what you get at CVS. Well worth the (short) wait."
"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever encountered. I have happily used shutterly about once a month for about 3 years. They are great until you have a problem and unfortunately need to talk with "customer service." They should call that department "customer enragement." They are outsourced and never talk with the home office...they told me that. Nothing ever gets resolved. I will go elsewhere. Don't shop there!!!"
"I tried numerous times to contact someone at Shutterfly to help me with Shutterfly's mistake on my order. Here is what I tried and what didn't happen:
1. The Customer Service link at the bottom of the web site. Got random messages but no way to get help.
2. The Contact Us link on the web site. No help there either - same info as above.
3. Gretchen Sloan's phone number. She wasn't available, but she left a customer service number on her voicemail message.
4. The customer service number from Gretchen Sloan's voicemail. I tried calling twice, on two different days, but after waiting on hold for 20 minutes both times, I gave up and hung up.
5. "Click here to ask us a question" link. No response.
6. Chat with Live Help link. Not available.

"I am very disappointed with Shutterfly. I was a long time customer with KodakGallery.com and had hundreds of photos stored on their site. Since Kodak closed, my pictures were moved to Shutterfly. The quality of my pictures are horrible now! Very grainy and blurry. I am very upset since I have my wedding photos on here and they look awful! I did print them off from Kodak before they closed and they were crystal clear, but I can't share them with friends and family without them being blurry."

First and last time I ever use them for anything and I haven't even gotten my photos yet. I just hope they are decent or I will have to deal with their terrible service again."
