"Low quality photo reproduction, blurred and pixilated images results in about 80% of the last two orders. First one refunded, second order they refused to refund, wanted to redo order but charge me for shipping. Go to Costco, their website is also much easier to use than that of Shutterfly.

"So I just wrote a review...but I am now changing my review to 5 stars! My initial rating was because of poor customer service, but I called back and tried one more time with a different customer service representative and everything is fixed. Shutterfly usually has great customer service...you may just need to call more than once. 9 times out of 10 the person is very helpful. I unfortunately talked to someone that was not very helpful the first time. Here is situation - I ordered with a 40% off coupon...the next day the 40% promotion expired...and they offered a 50% off promotion. I was very upset that I rushed to submit my order only to find that I should have waited to get the 50% off coupon for orders more than $79. I spent $263 initially. The first customer service representative was not very understanding or helpful. She said that since 99 cents of the order had shipped (one 5x7 photo) there was nothing she could do. Apparently if the 99 cent photo had not shipped, they would have been able to apply the promotion. I gave it one more try (because Shutterfly usually has amazing customer service). This time the representative talked to a manager and they applied the 50% off to the remaining $262 (not including the 99 cent print). What great customer service. This is how you make a return customer. Great quality photo books...and they want you to have a good value. Great books at great values makes loyal customers. Thank you shutterfly for granting this request. I will be back for more photo books. I will just be sure to keep a look out for the 50% off promotions now that I know you offer them occasionally. "
"I ordered birthday party invitations for my moms 60th surprise party. After 2 weeks of nothing shipping I decided to contact customer service. They informed me that while they had been experiencing issues with direct mailing, no one had gotten in touch with me. One representative said they "did their best to get in contact with every purchaser" however I never heard anything. Now I have invites going in late for a surprise party in under 1 month. We needed to get a head count for caterer by next week which will not be happening. I was offered a "photo book" by shutterfly and nothing else. I asked for expedited shipping which they could not accommodate. Will use other online services from now on. "
"Ordered a "photo card" to send to family on the holidays. Turned out it was just a photo printed on photo paper. The back had nothing - just the back of the photo paper. I called to talk to customer service and spent over 10 minutes. Offered a 5% coupon. I was an avid user, ordering products monthly. But your lack of customer service just made you lose a customer. "
"To keep a long story short as this has turned into an ongoing matter, I ordered a photo book as a gift. I used professional, high resolution photos. I had chatted in to check the status on my order because I noticed it was taking a little longer to ship than expected. I was told the book had to be reprinted. I received the book and it wasn't what I had hoped for. The pages all came out fuzzy and unclear. My friend referred Shutterfly to me and her products come out flawless. Since this was a surprise I could not call in, so I took advantage of the chat system. It took me 20 minutes before I was connected to a specialist. I was on chat for over an hour. I still don't have answers as to why the product came out poor, but I have every excuse in the book! This person wanted to reprint the book but expected me to pay shipping. When asked to speak to manager I was transferred to the next level of support. Again got the excuses. The person reprinted the book without the filter they apparently add to their products and shipped it to me at no charge. I still received the same quality in the second book. Hopped on chat again. It is like pulling teeth getting in touch with a manager. Do they exist? I was quoted a phone call within the hour. We passed that. Was told they would give me 50% refund. I paid with a groupon and the rest on a card. They refuse to give the fair amount back. This company is unreal. No business ethics. I will not use them again and you shouldn't either if you want your memories and products to come out right. It's not worth the frustration and they are robbing their customers their money."
"I ordered a mix of 4x6 and 5x7 prints (90 prints total) from shutterfly on 4/5/16 and payed $15.49 for guaranteed shipping by 4/8/16. When I tracked my order online it said they will be delivered by end of day 4/11/16. So I called Shutterfly and they didn't know why and couldn't get me the prints when promised. They did refund my $15.49 but that's not the point. I needed some of those items by 4/8/16 for a reason. When you guarantee something, follow through. If i can't count on shutterfly to get my items to me when promised, I will have to put my trust elsewhere. "
"I always order my Christmas cards through Shutterfly but, last year was my last one. The cards turned out awful and my pictures had a brownish tint on it. Customer service gave me the option of redo the order for me but, I thought it was to close to Christmas that I didn't wanted to do that. After that, the only option was setting a credit in my account but, I had to use it before 02/12/16. I don't need any cards until next Christmas so, I lost my money. No Christmas cards or money. I thought would be fair if they would let me use my credit for my next Christmas cards since I couldn't use my 2015 Christmas cards. I think the point of giving me that credit was to do not use it. I didn't need it at the moment. "
"Very disappointing product and customer service. Received another customers order. It was very poor print quality. They never responded to my voicemail. Mind you, due to an "unusually high call volume", they asked me to leave them a message. This was three weeks ago - still waiting. I then began corresponding via e-mail. I waited 3-4 days per e-mail to get a response from them. I sent them a picture and they actually requested that I go to the post office and mail the unusable product back to them. They still had/have never sent me the custom product that I purchased. So bummed. "
"I made a customized Christmas card and was pretty satisfied with it. It looked really good when it arrived and the colors, photos, and text were great. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that the web interface for designing the card is somewhat difficult to use and unable to customize (at least for the card template I selected). There was some text on the front cover that I wanted to increase in font size, but when I did that, poof, it disappeared and showed the ! icon saying it was too large to fit. There was plenty of space but I guess those are the limitations. All in all, I will use again. Note: I selected the expedited shipping and my order arrived on the date it was scheduled to."
"I am a professional photographer. I uploaded a file that was formatted to print as large as 30x40 (@300dpi). I ordered a 16x20 print. What I received was so horribly pixelated it didn't even resemble the photo I had uploaded. It looked like they stretched a thumbnail to fit a 16x20 print. HORRIBLE QUALITY!"

"Unreliable merchant with poor customer service. Ordered a book of family photos for my mother's 90th birthday party and paid extra to expedite the order with a guaranteed delivery date of three days before the party. When the book didn't arrive on the promised date, I looked online and it showed as "in production". Spent a majority of the next two days on the phone or in chat sessions with Shutterfly customer service reps and managers and was "guaranteed" the book would be completed and sent overnight to arrive the morning of the party. It's now 9pm the evening before the party and I'm told that they had a production issue and have to redo the book so it won't arrive until sometime next week. Needless to say, I cancelled the order. I will never use Shutterfly again and am sorry that I ever trusted them to produce something for such a special occasion. "
"I just want to say that Shutterfly reflects "Good Customer Service". I ordered a calendar in December and the order was delayed past the expected delivery date. I contacted Shutterfly so that they could assist me with when the item was expected as I was hoping to have it before my son's return to college. They responded promptly that the item was delayed at the post office and then placed a replacement order for me standing by their commitment of delivery of the product as stated. Even though the delay was not their fault, and I did not get this in time to have it go back with my son to college, I appreciated them standing by their commitment to their customers at their expense. Shutterfly is indeed one of the "good" companies when it comes to customer service. Thank you Shutterfly!"
