"I have used the treadmill once when the motor and panel had issues. I called in mid July and was promised replacement parts. One part showed up in late August but it was another 2.5 weeks till the next part arrived. This was in late September and I have been waiting for a service tech since. I will never recommend nor purchase this brand again. "

"It all started the day my elliptical died and I had to get a new one. I was looking at machines with large prices and not feeling good about the reviews I was reading on the internet. I came across the Smooth fitness website and called and got Lee. I talked to him for awhile and he steered me toward a sit down elliptical. I had told him about my back problems and thinking about it overnight, I called back and bought it with Lee's help. It has been about 5 months and I have missed only 2 days. 20-30 min each day and I mad still enjoying it. It also changes from a stepper or elliptical, quite a good idea. Don't hesitate to look over their website and call and talk to them."

Customer service has tried to solve an ongoing problem, namely that the cardio monitor doesn't function. As of this time, I've been waiting over a week for some word that they'll be sending a new computer so a tech can be scheduled.
History:
Several significant errors were made in assembly. The two men who came to assemble the unit clearly didn't understand the drawings and written instructions. I don't believe that one of them spoke English. From asymmetrical pedal installation to misaligned parts, missing bolts, not using the roller template, etc., the unit was marginally usable at first. The cardio monitor didn't function properly from the outset ... and still doesn't function even after replacement of two (the wrong ones!) components, the handle bar and a cable assembly.
The tech rep who was contracted the second and third time around was knowledgeable and thorough. The unit is to my satisfaction mechanically ... but the cardio monitor still doesn't function.
A week or so ago, Smooth Fitness was going to try to replicate the problem ... in that the monitor was picking up a pulse beat ... but not displaying the correct numbers. I'm still waiting on a call.
The new computer monitor has been shipped. A new problem now. Significant friction coming from stride length component area and is felt all the way to the handlebars. Now unable to adjust stride. I believe that the problems is related to setup. I keep finding more problems that were created by the setup team. Some I've been able to fix. This time, I'll wait for the tech who will install the new monitor. "
