"It's hard to believe the 1 star reviews. I bought a Colt 1911 on 5-17 and was delivered to my FFL dealer on 5-20. Like many others I was hesitant with 2nd thoughts. But they had the gun I was looking for so I rolled the dice and it paid off. Defiantly will buy from SOS in the future. Oh, by the way if you call them they do respond. Very professional!"

"I ordered 2 boxes of ammunition (308 WIN 175 Gr). Money was taken out of the account and I was given an email telling me to wait for tracking number. I got an email stating to prevent fraud they need a copy of my card and ID. I sent them A copy of mine and my wife's ID (since we used her card) and the card. No confirmation was ever given for receipt of these forms of identification, nor any confirmation of shipping. When calling customer service My wife and I both tried calling at the same and both of us were number 5 in the waiting line. Both of us were also cut out of this supposed waiting line and told to leave a message. No email or phone call has been received by this company."
"Placed an order then come to find out gun most other places is $220 cheaper. I notified them within 12 hours asking for price match or to cancel. Which ever they choose. Heard nothing for a week. Finally got an email after I sent 4 and tried calling multiple times to just be put on hold. So today I sat on hold for an hour and 15 minutes to see what would happen. Yep nothing. So email said sorry but we cant stop order now its being shipped. “7 days after my first of four emails to them. Absolutely Garbage company. Who ever is posting good reviews on here are lying for them. Horrrrrible. Put one star because you have too. This **** hole is negative 5 stars. "
"I recently was referred to SOS by a friend after our local ranges did not have the Sig P365XL in stock. Placing the order was easy and I was happy with the price. But 4 days after my purchase I received an email requesting a copy of my DL and Credit Card because my purchase was flagged as fraudulent. The only thing I could think of was that there was a typo on my part when entering my info or they had made a mistake BUT I would never send any company a copy of both my DL and credit card because of my own concerns of fraudulent activity. I did provide the last four digits of my CC and send them a copy of my DL and FOID card for verification. I also called them to do a phone verification of the information provided. I was quickly disregarded and told my order would be canceled. What a disappointment! I was expected to send them vital financial information because of their fraud but they weren't able to extend me the same courtesy. Not being able to provide a customer, who is trying to work with you so that we both get what we want, the proper service places SOS on my list of places I will never shop. "
"Nowhere in the ad on their did they state the revolver I purchased on line was used. I received the gun through a FFL transfer. At a glance it wasn’t obvious but after taking the gun home doing a more thorough inspection I could see marks on the barrel and more than enough carbon residue inside it to indicate it had fired many more times than required for factory testing. I wished I had the foresight to read reviews before I made the purchase. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. "

Happily, the folks at the Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore make it simple to use their site, and they keep promises. My handgun shipped 8 days after my purchase- better than promised. And when I ordered ammo, it shipped after 7 days, as promised, and arrived on time. When I called with a question, the staff were courteous and very helpful despite the hectic sales environment of recent months. You can rely on this company and will be happy with their merchandise."
"SOS just sent an email that 9mm and 5.56 is back in stock. Well their $17 CCI ammo is now $47 and their $60 green tip 5.56 is now $169. This is outrageous and should be against the law! SOS has lost my respect!"
"I was reluctant to do business with Sportsmans Outdoor when I saw the poor rating. After rreading some of the 5 star reviews I decided to take a chance. I placed an order on 2/17/21 the order shipped on 2/24/21. A 7 day turn around with high order volumes is pretty good. I would do business with them again. "
"Should have read the reviews on this company first! I never received the ammo. Contacted them...twice. Spoke to Melissa the instant I received a text telling me the order was delivered. then Alyssa a week later. Haven't heard a thing. FedEx (the worst shipper since mankind) refuses to answer anything. Placed a stop payment on credit card. Now, my video surveillance shows FedEx delivered the items to a different address. Had our local police dept. verify the delivery was NOT made to my residence. Still, they don't give a sh*t. They got my money and RAN. "
"Like most people I usually don't submit a review unless I've had issues with my purchase or customer service etc., but based on what I've read from other reviews I figured I would chime in and tell you all my experience from this particular company.
On 1/26/21 I made a firearm purchase for a very hard to find rifle (due to the pandemic situation, future gun legislation, and caliber size). This rifle was so hard to find that within a few hours it was out of stock on SOSS and selling upwards of $800+ on gunbroker. My purchase was $580. When I saw rifle I just purchased was out of stock on SOSS website I began to worry that maybe the item was already out of stock and I might have just handed over $580 for something that wasn't actually in stock. So what did I do??? I went and read reviews from other customers, and that's when I really began to worry. Lots of bad reviews put there. On this company's website it advised in red bold print that orders for ammunition and accessories could take up to 7 days to process, and firearms longer. I gave this company the benefit of the doubt and just decided to be patient and wait at least 7 days before I inquired about my order. .. It was a firearm after all and I suspected that my order would take possibly 2 or 3 weeks to ship (If it was indeed in Stock).
So Wednesday passes by, then Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Obviously two of those days are weekends so essentially it's only been 4 business days since I submitted my order. (Also, my credit card was already charged by Friday so at this point I felt like I had a lot to lose) All my worries stemmed from reading the bad reviews about this company.
Anyways, Monday comes along and I decided to check the status of my order. It came as a surprise to me to see that the status of the order had changed from awaiting shipment/processing order to SHIPPED!!! Yes that's right!! In a total of 5 business days my firearm purchased had shipped according to SOSS website. I still did not have any tracking information though, but 6 hours later (same day) I get an email from Fed Ex with all the tracking information. My order shipped and arrived on time without any error, so all that worrying I did amounted to nothing.
To conclude, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I am satisfied with how fast my firearm shipped, and I am satisfied with the availability of products they had advertised as "In Stock" as it was indeed in stock. I felt like with all the negative reviews I should add a positive one for future customers or somebody that may be stressing out like I did about an order."
"Prices on the high side and delivery is slow (over two weeks to ship) but they charge your card at time of order. They never answer the phone or emails so forget customer service. I did get my items albeit after three weeks and they did have a hard to find item. "
"On 11/21/2020 I was placing an order for ammo. The site was having a glitch, as sometimes happens in our digital world. Not sure if the order was going to go through, I cancelled it. I expected to be charged for the order and then refunded within a few weeks. I instead was charged twice. I quickly received a refund for one of the charges. Today is 12/8/2020. I have not received a refund for the second erroneous charge. The most frustrating thing is that you can't call and talk to anyone. The call directs you to leave a voice mail. I have left a voicemail and several emails. I have not heard from them one time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!"
