"I placed an order on-line for a Konica Minolta X-1. When I received the order confirmation via e-mail, I phoned to confirm the order and was asked if I would like to purchase an additional battery. "The regular price of this item is $99. However, today only, you may purchase this battery for $69." I replied that I was only interested in buying the camera. The salesman really tried to push this extra battery.
When he realized I would not buy the extra battery he then stated, "Did you know that the camera is not new? A new camera costs $100 more." I replied, "Cancel the order." He said, "The order is cancelled." I immediately received via e-mail the cancellation notice, within seconds (a stock e-mail or template stating that the item is currently unavailable.)
After re-checking the webpage, I could not find (even in small print using a magnifier) the word 'refurbished', 'reconditioned', or 'used'. I believe the term consumers usually use for this type of sale is "Bait and Switch."
I would definitely not recommend this retailer to anyone.

"Stay well away from this company, they are a bunch of crooks. Their items are refurbished, although they state their items are new. When i tried to talk to their so called "customer service", they would hang up on me.
STAY AWAY!!!!"
"This store is a scam with terrible customer service. I called to buy a Canon EOS Rebel Camera body earlier in the day - they were available as drop ship. I called back to place the order and because I refused to purchase the batter pack (which, btw, is included in the original body only packaging), the camera was not available!!! What they're doing is advertising LOW prices, but making the real money on the accessories they make you buy."
"It appears i had the same problems as everyone else. Placed an order. Got the call back for accessories, and i told them i could find all that cheaper on a nice firendly auction site. Was then quoted 6-12 weeks for delivery.
Rang them back asking for status of order (appeared as cancelled on there website). Got varying responses, all ending with them hanging up so i couldn't ask further questions. Even got shouted at when i got through with a bad connection.
I say flood this store with phonecalls. There's only about 2-3 people who must work there. They won't be able to keep up their same methods of business if the phones are constantly jammed."
"Never buy from this store!!
I ordered a digital camera for a good price and on the web showed as new and it was refurbished. The salesperson was very rude and hang up on me! "
"Negatives:I think the only positive comments made here are by WAWA employees. I ordered the canon powershot s80 last week and called them to confirm. They were rude and hung up on me the first time. I called back and they tried to sell me batteries and memory cards with the camera; I refused and they told me I should receive the camera within 5 business days. After 5 days I checked the order status online to find the order had been canceled. I re-ordered and called to confirm. The guy I talked to was upset that I re-ordered but he checked to make sure it was in stock (it was), confirmed my order and told me it would arrive soon. I checked the status later to find that the order had once again been canceled. I called back and asked why only to be told they were out and hung up on. I have had similar experiences with USAPHOTONATION.COM and CCICAMERACITY.COM.
preferredphoto.com might be legitimate but I havent received the camera yet.
Overall review: This place is a Scam. A new form of telemarketing. I hope what theyre doing is illegal and theyre put out of business.

"Tried on two separate occasions to order from this company 2 - Canon A610 cameras - when I declined to purchase accessories at ridiculous prices (and items that I already own from a previous camera) they were abusive, rude, and cancelled my order(s). This is after I called to verify an internet order as instructed and on a second occasion, they called me and confirmed the order."
"I was shopping online for the cheapest digital camera of a well-known model. One of the price comparison sites showed wawadigital to be about $100 cheaper than their nearest competitor. I placed my order online.
Hours later, I received an "Urgent" e-mail and phone message telling me that I had to call immediately in order to verify my order.
When I did so, I was told the item was in stock and would ship in 2 to 3 days.
-BUT-
When I refused to purchase any accessories, the wawadigital rep. got angry. barked that the item would not ship for 10 days, then snarled, "This order is cancelled. It is not available. This order is cancelled."
THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD. I ADVISE ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO IS THINKING OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM TO KEEP FAR, FAR AWAY."
"Buyer Beware of low prices from this store, it's just a come on. I placed my order online and received the "call to verify" email. Sure enough I was told the camera I wanted was out of stock and I got the hard sale on the latest version. I'll give them credit for one thing....they are very good at hard sale pushing and I fell for it. Ok...so I got had and paid too much for some garbage accessories but the worst part is that they didn't send me my $200 rebate and now won't respond to email. Please don't make the same mistake I made, buy from someone else or you'll just get ripped off by these people. Look at the other reviews here and you'll see the pattern."
"Well went on the internet to loof for a Canon Sd200 camera. wawdigital came up cheaper by about $20 than anyone else. The website they were listed under gave them nothing but glowing reviews. Placed the order and then got the infamous "Call to verify" e-mail gave them a call and was complemented by my choice etc. I was first told that I couldn't cancel my order as it was Christmas and that he was going to record that if it was okay. I think that was bogus and it would have just been to hold over my head in case I din't agree to any of their add-ons. I was then told that it didn't come with a memory stick and that they had 128 for $79 and 256 for only $109. I agreed was told the total which was $280 when I thought I'd be spending $160 or so. I hung up then feeling like I had been had. Did some research on prices for memory and sawthat I had been done. Then I found the reviews on this website. So I first checked my credit card online to see if the order had been processed. It wasn't. So I called my credit card company and cancelled it so have been issued another number so they wouldn't be able to process the order. Then I emailed wawadigital to cancel the order. the fact that it is a Yahoo account should have been a big red flag.
Well I just received a call from the Infamous James saying he just tried to process my order and my credit card was cancelled. I told him I had done some research and the memry he sold me should have only been $20 and that I had cancelled my order by e-mail yesterday. he said no problem he would be forwarding my order to collections they charge a 20% cancellation fee. I said no because the order had not been even processed yet so there should be no fee. And then said I had done some research on thema nd that there had been a bunch of complaints about them and with that he said fine your order is cancelled and hung up.
Classic. I am so glad I found all these reviews so I was prepared for that phone call. Bottom line they do everything to try and strong arm you into an order. It's all smoke and mirrors. As soon as you throw some facts at them tehy cut you loose so hey can get onto the next sucker.
I have learned a big one form this and will definitely not get suckered in again. "
"Ordered online, got a telephone call-back e-mail immediately, on the weekend, and called on Monday morning to recieve a high pressure sales pitch for the memory chip and batteries. Neither memory chip or rechargeable batteries were included. Then tried to sell me the camera bag, which was thrown in "free". Authorized three day shipment, two weeks later still no camera so I called, 866 number didn't work. Nutbar, pushy, rude, and obnoxious "owner" tells me what he's gonna do for me. Expects me to thank him for it as he talks over me while I'm trying to talk to him. Camera wasn't in stock at time of order but is now, will ship for free, upgrade 128 meg chip to 256 "free", and will "throw in the camera bag free". Then tries to sell me the 5 year warranty for another $200, but offers me the whole package for $480 (original order is $408) and I accept. Three days later camera arrives, with only original order materials in box, for original order price. Called back and talked to "same voice", who says it wasn't him I talked to before, but will ship out 256 meg chip and extended warranty for another $72. Camera is beautiful, terrible service, will never do business with wawa again. On the second call the sales person was polite and calm, on first call was a total yankee nutbar!"
"DANGER! BEWARE! I placed an order with Wawadigital for 2 digital cameras -- at an unbelievably low price. The next day I was called on my cell phone (by "Scott") "to verify my order". The guy warned me that the camera does not come with memory and my Xmas gifts would not work when received unless I bought some. He was very impatient and that should have been my 1st red flag. I was quoted a price of $79 for a 128MB SD high-speed memory card. I had no idea what price was reasonable. (I was not at home to check this out). I was told this was a heavily discounted price. I told him I wasn't sure I wanted to purchase that and he impatiently said -- "You know -- we just ran out and you missed out." Then he hung up. I was so shocked I called back to make sure the rest of my order was still straight. I got the same guy when calling a different extension. He hung up on me. I called back (very worried now) and a very nice reasonable guy answered and told me that he apologized but he believed that "Scott" was being layed off and thus was irate. He explained very patiently about the cost of the memory and why it was such a great deal. He convinced me by saying it was risk-free -- I could call them with any other store's info that had a lower price and they would match it. He then went down to $59 dollars which was their "factory price". I made the purchase but was upset that my $124 camera was now costing me $180. I thought about it for a few hours then called back to cancel -- they were closed so I wrote an email with the subject line of "Cancel order #nnnnn" and a message to call me at once and "don't ship". I didn't hear anything so I called back this morning. The guy who answered demanded to know why I wanted to cancel and then told me my reason was a "stupid" one. He berated me some more and said I couldn't cancel -- it had already shipped. Then he hung up on me. I called back and asked for a manager -- the phone went dead. I called back immediately and got someone else who also demanded to know why -- I told him I was not going to go through it again but he said he could not cancel without this info. I very briefly told him and he started being (beyond) rude. He said it was too late -- that it had already shipped. I said that then I was going to send it right back and he said he'd charge me a restocking fee of 20%. I told him that was ABSOLUTELY NOT going to happen. Finally was told the order would be cancelled. Then he hung up. Since I did not trust it at all, I called back with a friendly tone and asked the guy's name (J.J.). I said I wished to "check the status of my order". I was told it was cancelled. (so I was relieved to hear that) I then asked for a cancellation verification number (because I was hoping to fully document this for my credit card company). The guy said I did not need one. I asked for his full name and he refused. I asked for the full name of the guy who cancelled the order. He yelled that I was a "f@#king moron"!!! and hung up. "
"After at least 3 calls from this company trying to sell me extra batteries by telling me that the one in the camera would only last 15 minutes, I was told that my camera would be shipped in two to three weeks. There was no reason given for the delay in shipment. After following up with the company, I was told that the camera was backordered. Since this was a Christmas present, I cancelled the order and reordered with another company."
"i ordered two cameras from wawadigital.com thinking that i found an unbelievable price. i ignored the confirm your order email that they sent me, so they called me instead. the boy started off being polite then he went into this rant telling me that one of the cameras that i ordered neeeded a battery pack. that sounded strange to me because i figured that the camera would come with one. i told him that it was a gift and that if the user wanted the accessorie he could order it himself. he said "fine" and then hung up on me. that left me wondering if by him saying fine that meant i will recieve the cameras and only the cameras or that i will recieve both cameras and a battery pack priced at eighty dollars. my wife called back moments later to confirm that no battery pack was ordered they were polite and said that only the two cameras will be charged and we should recieve them in a few days. a week went by, no cameras, my wife calls wawadigital.com the boy said the order was cancelled and hung up on my wife. she calls back a second time with the same response. so i call a third time he tells me the same thing. i tried to ask him a question but i couldnt even fit in a word, he just hung up on me. i will be cancelling my cc so that these scammers can not sell my cc info to the highest bidder. stay far away from these fools, PLEASE!"
"Though this site processes your order quickly you have to confirm your order by calling their toll free number. Once doing so gives them the opportunity to sell you more accessories.
I am not sure who wrote the past glowing reviews of this company (perhaps friends and family). But I can assure you that my experience with this company was VERY BAD! After thinking about the purchase I had made the night before as not being of a sound decision I decided to cancel the order the following morning and do more research before I buy. These people want to try and charge me a restocking fee of 25% on an order that had yet been shipped!! I also found out that my credit card company had yet to see the charge in their system. Which was all the more reason not to charge me a BOGUS restocking fee for an order that had not been processed yet! The owner also threatened to send be to collections if I at least did not pay $125.00 in restocking fees on a $550.00 camera!
Needless to say that if my credit card does get charged I am promptly reporting these people to the New York Better Business Bureau. I also canceled my Visa card (JUST IN CASE) because these people strike me as being very dishonest and maybe even scam artists of some kind.
Bottom Line, these people are very rude, impolite and ill-mannered when it came time to cancel an order that wasn't even 24 hours old. This truly is not a sign of a reputable business. Please don't buy from this outfit!"
