"Hi everyone, I want to share my experience with student universe.
I booked a flight from Seattle to San Jose in January. In previous, whenever I needed to cancel the flight student universe helped in cancellation and refunded in form of studentuniverse credit.
So I called them in month of January end to cancel the flight which was set in APRIL month. this time they gave me really really hard time. On call, they said yes they are canceling and refunding the charges and then they put me on hold and after sometime they said turned back from their words. They refused to cancel the flight and said we never cancel flights. I had my bank involved to reverse my charges. Bank authenticated everything and reversed the charges.
Just 2 days ago studentuniverse emailed me to give credit card details and signed form that I allow the payment for April San Jose trip.
What is with the foreceful behavior studentuniverse? I’m not going to travel so I’m not going to pay! Simple as that. I also gave you notice of 3 months about not traveling anymore. If studentuniverse forces me and my bank anymore, I’ll hire an attorney for their bad behavior with their customer.
Also furthermore they added, I can no longer book flight from studentuniverse. Guess what? Me, my friends no one will book anything from studentuniverse. Who wants to stick to worst customer service company.
You’ll save yourself from hassles! It’s better to pay little more than facing worst customer service"

However, the tickets you booked were basic economy tickets (the airline calls it as saver fares), and such tickets are highly restricted regarding change and cancellation. We always display a notice reminding customers the limitations of such tickets when customers add flight to cart on our website and app.
As per the airline's policy, "No refunds are allowed beyond the first 24 hours after ticketing. No changes, including same-day confirmed changes, are allowed for Saver fares." We are sorry that when you contacted us, it was already past the 24 hours free cancellation window. We also agree with you sometimes it is worth paying a little more (e.g. booking economy class and beyond) to allow more flexibility for changing/canceling. If you have any other concerns, feel free to contact our customer service team!
