"Bought an Apple Watch on Swappa, at least I thought I did. Paid for it with my linked PayPal account. Seller never responded. After a week I asked Swappa for help. They did nothing! In the meantime out over $300. Swappa tells me to take it up with PayPal. PayPal has no record of the transaction even though I linked my PayPal account with my Swappa account. PayPal says the purchase was processed as a guest account and they need to escalate to see if they can challenge the transaction. This will take a week or so. Now I’m 2-3 weeks in, out $300+ and no watch. STAY AWAY!!!"

The review and verification process for listing a phone will give buyers assurances that they are purchasing what they expect. It is quite strict. My only listing was a local pickup so that worked out for me. However, the process and directions for the local pickup needs to be clearer. It was states on the Swappa local page that the buyer simply needs to process the order on Swappa and pay the listing fee. The balance would be exchanged in cash. Well that didn't happen for me - perhaps it was user error. But, the directions need to be clearer. Also, Swappa needs to be clear that paypal will charge the seller a fee for processing the payment. I have a personal PayPal account and not one for business. So I was surprised to see the fee. While I guess this is not a Swappa fee, the fact that you can only link a PayPal account to get paid, it limits your options. Again, perhaps there's another option, it wasn't clear on the website at the time of setup. Lesson learned. So the platform has great potential, it needs to be clearer on the process as well as the fees.

"I think Swappa is the best site for selling an iPhone. I do think that when they generate your listing code they should have a link where you print that of page and place the phone in various positions so that all listings are consistent. Also, you need to get used to the platform for posting updates and communicating. I almost missed Some questions regarding my iPhone and the notification of the sale. Once you get familiar with the platform it’s very good. Also for this review a drop down of invoice numbers should appear based on email. So annoying!"
