"DO these guys have a life?? Hundreds of negative reviews and they continue to get customers. Hard to fathom. Tried to order JVC GZ-MG330B. Great price of 279. I had read the reviews of these sellers but I thought I would attempt to get them to fork over the goods to someone who won't get scammed. I told them I already had one of these camcorders and was buying this as an extra for this low price so I wouldn't need battery. They obviously sensed I would have none of their typical BS so the conversation was short. Well the camera was not in stock as listed and was backordered for 2 weeks. I cancelled order. Recieved no confirm so I called today to sweet talk them into maybe another model or color. I asked about Xacti E1 or Xacti hd1000. Neither in stock. In fact they said no Hard drive 'corders are in stock. I informed him the xacti were not hard drive based. He was stupified. Long story short I got the cancellation confimed and that is the end of it. Don't bother trying to be clever with them. They are hoping the numbers yield a VERY FEW suckers. Could this be worth the effort, you fools? Get a real job. They seem perfectly happy in the role of recieving hundreds of phone calls from disgruntled customers. Are they gluttons for punishment or what. I'll get my stuff elsewhere as I expected but it was worth the try for fun since I was ready for the inevitable. If you choose to venture these waters like I did just be prepared to waste some time for sport. Kudos to this Wiss guy, who photographed all of these Brooklyn based scammers. So funny all these palookas I imagine sitting in their shabby dark offices fielding calls and eating cheesey nachos and grease burgers. Get a life boyz. The rest of the world has one."
"Keep away, keep away!!!!
Wow, what a bad joke. Ordered a video camera from BroadwayPhoto first, they just sent me an out of stock email, so I then stupidly went to TechonDigital (aka TheDigitalNerds). Received an email for my order, called to "confirm" my order, they proceeded to upsell me batteries saying that the one that came with the camera only lasted 20 minutes. Hah! I just declined.
Five days later, no charge had been put on my Credit Card and no emails or phone calls regarding shipping. Called them to ask about my order, first call they hung up on me, second call they transferred me to an answering machine, third call I spoke to someone and they told me that my order would be shipped in four weeks. Actually I'll quote what he said to me twice, "Four weeks, you'll love it!". Astonished at the amount of time it would take, I told him to cancel the order. He said "Ok your order is cancelled, have a great day". Didn't think it was going to be that easy but I received a cancellation email with a cancellation code, so hopefully that's the last time I'll have to deal with these scammers. I'm going to cancel my credit card today too.
Keep away, keep away!!!!"

"very unprofessional. Nikon s600 - after on-line purchase got call from sales and tried to sell me battery and accessories. I turned them down. a week later got email saying it was "out of inventory". obviously a scam.
Don't use this site!"
"Found this purchase very shady. I was called immediately and "pressured" to purchase additional accessories. I did! (what a mistake that was)
I doubled the price of the camera I bought by accessories that were WAY over priced.
I learned my lesson."
"I had same experience as others. Should have checked them out first. When I wouldn't buy their high priced accessories, the price they quoted to me for a "US market" camera was over MSRP! Sales reps were unprofessional."
"I purchased a GPS online from this company and was told I had to call and confirm. When I called to confirm, they tried to sell me accessories (for outrageously high prices). When I declined, they said the order was confirmed. two calls later when I still didn't see it on my credit card statement, they said it was backordered and asked if I'd like to cancel the order. (their website said it was currently available) Obviously, scammers. "
"Same problem as the rest of you had. It's a bait and switch scam. Stay away from 86th Street, too. Same company, using different name and website. Same jerk with a Jersey accent working both customer service lines."
"I thought I was going to save $110 on a $500 Sony camcorder, by ordering from techondigital.com. I noticed their prices were very low on their cameras & camcorders, but very high on the accessories (like tripods, batteries, cases).
Afte placing the order, an email said to call customer service, I assumed just to verify credit card. No, they wanted to sell me a battery (the one that comes with the camera is only good for 15 min.), an extended warranty (a lot of returns on these camcorders), a tripod, and an SD card. When I said no, they were friendly no longer - "I hope you enjoy your camcorder", and hung up. A day later, I get an email "item not in stock, won't be for 6-8 weeks". I checked some review sites, and this place has horrible reviews. I've checked my credit card for fraud, but they don't seem to be involved in credit card fraud, just "bait and switch". Of course, their webiste shows this same camcorder as "Available" (as it has every day).
There are reputable companies that offer low prices, but this place ain't one of them.

"I believe this is a sister, or alias, company to TechonDIGITAL. Same Modus Operendi. (NO posts are being taken at that named site)
On the evening of Mar 19, 2008, I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 online and printed the order summary including the request to call and confirm the order before it would be shipped. I called the next morning. Guy finally answers, asks for order number. He states camera battery only lasts 20 minutes. I need to purchase a battery. I say not yet, I just want the camera. He says camera will only take about two pictures, I need an SD Card. I say I have a stack of them and only want the camera. He says it's a nice camera and hangs up. Today I receive this e-mail (and I copy verbatim):
-We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us .
Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We regret to inform you that the order is canceled due to the product being on backorder. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .-
I checked their website before this post and the camera is listed as available, but now at $175.00. The 1GB SD Card is $59.99 and the battery is $69.99! I do believe this is a dishonest way to do business. I feel almost lucky to have had the order cancelled with no fee charged (yet). I will definitely be monitoring my credit card number. Caveat Emptor!

"I just ordered a GPS Magellan 4040. I was called to confirm my order. They told me that I needed a memory card, and that I had to order an extended warranty (was supposed to come with a one-yr manufacturers warranty) and that the instructions would be in chinese (though it was shipping from Japan?) and would take 7 days, though I was paying for one day delivery. When I told him it sounded like a scam, he told me he would cancel the order and send a confirmation. Yikes. The site shows a five star rating from buyers and all good feedback from customers. I used a very low limit card to order, but plan to call my bank and put an alert for any amount from these folks. Not a happy camper right now."
"This is a fully scam-system operated fraudulent company. They show you "incredible" prices in their websites (they run under many names) for electronics, etc. That's their hook. THEY DON'T HAVE THE PRODUCTS... but if you fall in the scam, they're getting your credit card number, address & phone! Before buying anything on the web do a simple thing: copy the name of the website, check it at the BBB. If they're red-flagged just drop it, don't buy there.
I checked their system, exactly as mentioned by others scammed customers."
"If something looks too good to be true.....I had bad dealings with these jerks. Bait and switch. Low priced camera then you will need batterys for 200.00 that you can get at circuit city for 19.00. If the price is low on a little known .com look down at the prices of the acessories. 15.00 charger for 200.00. Everyprice.com,s page is loaded with these type of cons mixed in with a few ligit stores. If you do get sucked in ( like I did) call your credit card company and get them to send out a new card with new numbers. Better safe than sorry"
"Hideous, hideous company run by rude, stupid people. Same experience as everyone else - tried to order a Garmin 200, got the confirmation email, called and was expected to pay 50 bucks for a 1 gig memory card, or else I would have to ship the unit to some godforsaken place to get map updates... with their extra special super-keen memory card, however, I could download updates right from home! Well, gee, I said, I think I want to take ten minutes to research this and call you back. At that point, "JJ" (the owner, apparently)had his latest Prozac dosage run out, and he suddenly flipped out. He called me stupid, said he was doing me a favor, etc. and then said he'd cancel the order and hung up on me. Truly the oddest sales tactic I had ever seen. So, then I became nervous that this was a phishing scam, so I called back and told the peon who answered the phone that, if any charge appeared on my card, I would make it my personal lifelong mission to totally destroy him. I then received a very polite email from them, stating they had totally deleted all my information from their systems.
I'd have to say this was a fairly negative experience, but the threat bit at the end was kind of cathartic."
"I've just been reading all these reviews and the story is the same. I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 650...I couldn't believe what a great price I found! It was supposed to be a gift for my boyfriend who travels a lot for work. About 15 mintues after my order was placed I received the same call mentioned by all of you below...trying to upsell me on memory cards, carrying cases, batteries and then the 'grey market' speech. When I said no for what seemed like the 15th time, he said fine, and hung up on me. I'm anticipating a cancellation email anytime now, based on all the other comments here. How can places like this stay in business?? It is very frustrating!"
