"This was my second order from them. The first, a couple months prior, went flawlessly so I went back. Not complaints on this one, either. Items were exactly as promised. Only complaint is that they use UPS for expedited delivery, and UPS is much more difficult to deal with on signature deliveries that are missed than the other choices."

"Thenerds.net had the lowest shipped price on the Audigy 2 and a very competitive price on the Megaworks 510D so I ordered both. Ordered on 10/17 and arrived on 10/22 via UPS Ground. "I placed my order for a HP 5400Cxi scanner on 9 October. Their web site claimed to have 54 in stock. I placed a followup call about a week later and was given a bogus UPS tracking number. I checked my credit card account online and saw that they had charged the order the same day I placed it. I finaly called again today and was told that "the product is at the end of life phase." I canceled the order and am now awaiting a credit for the full amount on my credit card (I'll be sure to post an update if that goes as well as the order did)."

"After taking forever to verify my card, it took them almost 2wks to get the TRACKING information up after shipping the item. To add injury to insult, they shipped it to the WRONG address! Horrible horrible experience. Needless to say I will NEVER shop with them again!"

"When I ordered a DPP-SV77 SONY printer from a link from CNET to thenerds.net
the price was $361.00 plus shipping. The shipping was $6.95. When I
received the product it was $412.65. I called customer service and the man
said that I was wrong when I ordered it it was $412.65. Why in the world
would I order it from them when I could have gotten it for less buying it
from Sony. The reason I use CNET is to get the best price. Not to get
prices raised once you order something. thenerds.net will not get my
business again. By the way they did offer me a credit of $10.00 towards my
next purchase. I said no thank you.

And my fault for not saving the invoice or printing it out...lesson learned!

"This is the worst. They are located in the same state as the delivery, about a 3 hour drive down the interstate. I paid top dollar for shipping expecting it to be delivered within a few business days. No such luck. Had I known, I would have driven myself to get the 2 lb package I'm waiting on. UPS tracking has estimated arrival date at the 13th(8 days)of the month so I guess it really got shipped from Miami to Canada and I live in Central Florida. I will avoid the tax (living in the same state) and the high shipping cost from this company and order from someone else next time. This is totally uncalled for. Never, never again from TheNerds.net."

"I tried ordering from a few other dot.com mail order companies, and had bad delivery experiences. They either became instantly our of stock of the particular item or took over one week to process an order. The Nerds actually shipped my order in one day. How refreshing!"

"Took them 72 hours like they claimed on the website to have my stuff shippped... but unfortunately this 72 hours didn't include weekends, so in reality, it's been over 5 days.

I can't blame them, after all, when I placed the order I was told that it would be ready in 72 hours, excluding weekends. But had I realize that they were going to take their statement seriously and take all those 72 hours... I would have ordered from another reseller that has no problems shipping the next day.

Thenerds also has very very bad phone customer service. They claim they have operators standing by... which is a bunch of BS since I was placed on hold for 25 minutes before I had my problem resolved. The damn voice recording kept telling me at 2 minute intervals that I was "number 1" in line.

I wouldn't order from The Nerds again nor would I recommend it because their service is SUPER SLOW. Furthermore, after the hacker attack on their servers, I would be very wary if I were a new customer since they store all your credit card information.

"My credit card was charged BEFORE the company checked whether the item was in stock. Next, my order was cancelled because the company claimed they did not have the item in stock. I was informed that a refund would take 3-5 days. The notification telling me that an item had been cancelled from my order did not include the name of the item, or any identification that I could have used to identify the item on the seller's website, only an "internal" stock number (not searchable), and a price. Luckily I figured out which item it was. When I checked the company's website on the day my order was cancelled, the item did indeed appear to be in stock. I called, and was informed that the in-stock list was made up from "several warehouse locations" and that my order could be re-issued if I liked. I declined and went to another supplier."

"Well, letst start with they are about 30 miles from me, and it took 11 days to get the parts to me. They had them in stock..or so they say, and when I called, they refused to give me tracking information, "you will get it tommorrow" and that is all I would get.

I sent the shipment back, and found the part for 1/5th what they were chageing too!

Then, the incompetence continues, they get hacked, on a known bug, and credit card numbers are leaked. I also get regular spam from them as well, with no WORKING option to unsubscribe.

"I purchased a Casion QV3500 from thenerds.net along with a 256MB Flash card to go with it.

Shipping was pricy ($56), but I was floored when the camera arrived the next day - fantastic. The flash card turned up a few days later.

Unfortunately, within a few days I realised there was something up with either the camera or the flash card. Seemingly the other flash cards I had worked fine but the 256MB caused the camera to become faulty. I called Casio to see if there was any size limitation on the flash that the camera could take. The rep claimed it would max out at 192MB so I asked for an RMA from the nerds.net for the card (this is something they tell you to do on their website - even if you call).

Before I sent the card back I noticed the camera began to exhibit the same problematic behaviour (crackling LCD - fails to take pictures) with all the other flash cards too. With a 16MB card the camera would work for 20 minutes, with the 256MB card it would work for just a couple of minutes - if at all. I tried tourbleshooting (trying different cards, different types of batteries, an ac adapter), but the camera was clearly faulty.

So I then further requested an RMA for the camera and it cost me a further $15 to insure and ship it back.

A week or so later I received an email saying the camera was out of stock and the cost of the camera was refunded to my card ($475 or so).

So I was out the shipping back and forth (around $72 in total) which kind of irritates me - but dealing with thenerds.net was extremely good though; emails were abundant and I was never on hold for more and a couple of minutes.

Ultimately, it's a shame their website doesn't list a total of how many items they have in stock though, as I would not have ordered had I known they were running low.

I'm not sure if I'd use them again.

Update: July 03rd. My most recent CC statement revealed that thenerds.net refunded my money extremely quickly. Good guys.

Second order placed with them - came next day without next day shipping charges! STUNNING! Highly recommended
