"I just received my Nikon D7000! Ben (ext. 100), who advised me on buying this camera, instead of my original intention to get the D300S, did me a huge favor. I was able to program it easily and I love the trial shots I got so far. It shoots in low available light, something I need at weddings when a flash is not permitted. The camera arrived the day I was told it would. I will, no doubt use your company again.
Thank you,
Nell"
"BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
Beware of this company. There business practices are pretty shady. I was going to buy a lens for my camera. Price would have been less than $300. After I placed the order, the website said the lens was not compatible. I cancelled the order immediately. That occurred on 10-2-11. On 10-6-11 they decided to charge my credit card for $499. On 10-8-11 after reading my original revue they tell me if I will change the revue and they will credit my card that it was a misunderstanding on their part. They said the credit will show up on my card on either 10-17-2011 or 10-18-2011.
Today is 10-19-2011, the $499 charge for NOTHING is still on my card, they have not issued the credit. Do not get robbed like I did. Avoid this company. Thet can not be trusted."
"excellent service, i would recommend this company."
"Horrible! Do not shop at this store. They charged my credit card $606 on Aug 27, but did not ship the product as I had requested that they cancel it. I also requested an immediate refund of the $606 which the 'manager' insisted I would get in 5-7 days. Today is Oct 5th and I still do not have a refund! I've emailed them several times but no response.
Digital Hunter has lost any trust and I will not recommend them to anyone. BUYER BEWARE. PS - If I don't recieve my refund soon, I will be seeking legal action. Ridiculous for them to charge me $606 when I never even recieved anything in the mail! "
"I tried to order by phone the rep. tried to up-sell me, tried to sell me a used camera twice, lied to me about the languages available on the camera he said the import models only use Japanese. Called Nikon: all their cameras are programmed for the same languages. Even digitalhunter's website description of the import camera says English is available. Decided to order on line and not be lied to. Got a call that afternoon from Ben checking my credit card, Ben told me the camera I ordered was made of plastic not Manganese. I stuck with my order. Called Nikon and yes Manganese NOT plastic. DigitalHunter wanted a review before I received the Camera. So, it was a factual and accurate Review. The next day Ben called and said they would not honor my order unless I retracted my review."
"I would like to have my previous comment removed and replaced with with updated survey due to the end results and daughter's happness with the package given to her as a gift"
"Have not received the Canon sx40, yet, but a great deal and well experienced customer service. Cancelled order Oct 4th due to finding out the great deal was w/o battery. They charged my credit card anyway on Oct. 5th. Cancelled order, waiting for full refund. have not recieved refund to date Nov 14th."
"I had a great experience. Great prices."
"You guys are perfect i got my lens after like 2 days..
That's really good.
Thank you"
""No comment yet. Still to be determined.""
"The Digital Hunter is typical of many low priced online stores. They will try very diligently to upsell you high priced accessories. Know what you want and need and what is a fair price for any accessories or warranties before you order and be wary of high pressure sales when you must call to verify your order."
"I am posting another warning regarding my experience with this bunch of scammers. I was tempted by their incredibly low prices and was switched from the lens I wanted to an inferior, vastly overpriced substitute. The same with the battery I wanted, I was switched from 2 regular batteries, to 1 high capacity for the same price. What I received was a regular battery at double the normal price. After posting the facts about my experience and opening a complaint with my credit card company I eventually got a reply on Reseller Ratings stating they would refund everything. When I contacted Digital Hunter I was told that I would have to remove my complaint first or they would not give me a refund at all.
So far they have refunded the cost of the merchandise that was sent, which did not match the products they said they would send in any way. They lied about “NEW release” Sigma lens, it was a 2004 model, sold to me at $159 more than most other online camera stores, Sigma had no lenses matching Digital Hunter’s description, they DO NOT market any lenses with a PE (Professional Edition) description. The Nikon lens that I was told would not fit, actually fits perfectly and has a metal base not a plastic one that I was led to believe. There appears to be only one or two operators of this scam site, they switch names to make you believe they are bigger operation than they really are, they slipped up a few times when we were making a lot of calls. Nextag is not monitoring anything they claim on their webpage, most of the good deals they don’t have in stock, and the product descriptions are erroneous. When you contact them they will tell you it’s a European model to cover their fictitious description. Just read their return policy, they make it clear that you will be lucky to get anything back. If you are unfortunate enough to get sucked in by their slick talk ,check immediately for the price and availability on other sites for the garbage they are trying to sell you, then contact your credit card company and tell them you have been scammed and get them to cancel the transaction. Keep a record of all phone calls and emails so you can open a complaint with your credit card company if the first action does not work. Good luck.

"Terrible communication. Never rec'd item after being told it was in stock. Will never buy from again."
"Update 12/12/12 - Discover has credited me back my charge. Digital Hunter has never processed RMA refund after I returned merchandise to them back in Oct. I recently tried to call and the number was not working. Typical scammers - there is a special place in hell for these type of people.
UPDATE 10-2-11 - White Box Items - No Warranty Card - $600.00 more than you could by it for at Sams.
I received a call from Digital Hunter today and they offered to refund all my money. This is great news. I will leave the post up until I receive my full refund.
Original Post:
Like many on this site I ordered, got the phone call, are you sure you want a Japanese model D7000? The ad did not mention this and he could get me a US version D5100 with a Sigma lens for only a couple of hundred dollars more. I do not know alot about cameras but know that I can by this camera at Sam's with two Nikkor lens for 300.00 less than he is talking about. So we go back to the D7000 with a Nikkor 18 to 200 zoom. Well he can make me deal and get me a US version D7000 but the lens has a plastic mount and he has just received the new version of the 18 to 105 lens with metal mount. It is listed as a different lens on the web site with a much higher price compared to the standard 18/105 lens.
Against my better judgement I say go ahead with the order although I am now spending $300.00 more than I had originally intended. I told the customer service person that I was concerned about the way this order was going and that I would be checking the lens very carefully when it arrived, he said great because I would not be disappointed.
Not totally convinced by this I sent an email to Nikon asking if they had come out with a new version of their 18/105 lens and received a reply today saying they had not.
Here is Nikons reply:

Dear Mr. Ford:
The original AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens has not been replaced by a new version.
Thank you for writing.
Myron

At this point I do not know what they shipped me but if it is the standard lens I have been overcharge about $500.00. I do not know if I will even accept this order at this point (it is suppose to be delivered tomorrow). I will call them tomorrow morning and confront them with this. Based on others experiences I do not expect it go well, but I paid with Discover and they are very good at handling these type of disputes.
This review could/will change as the delivery is not completed yet.
Update:
I received my order today. The $899.00 new Nikon 18-105mm =255mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX Nikkor Autofocus Lens steel was in a white unsealed box and it was just the standard lens that can be had for a couple of hundred dollars. On top of that d7000 camera was in a white box. I do not know if they are refurb, stolen, or import. There is no warranty card. The super extended battery he included is a standard EN-EL 15 battery. I have already contacted Discover Card about the charge. Digital Hunter said to call back Monday when the customer service would be back in. Story will continue.
Update:
After a long discussion with customer service I get a RMA # but will have to pay a restock fee in addition to the over $100 UPS shipping fee I have already paid. I sent it back by UPS (insured) for about $25.00. I will see what happens with my refund. "
"Good Service! I didn't realize at the time that I placed my order that a special order would take longer to arrive than I was willing to wait, and I was pleased that Ben from The Digital Hunter offered to upgrade my order at no extra charge to me because of the confusion. Thanks!"
