Kudos to The Digital Hunter, they do indeed read these comments and act accordingly. I was contacted by my original sales associate later on the 8th and he said he had put a refund through to my account for the amount they overcharged. The refund went through yesterday.

My rating has been increased from the previous 3-stars I felt early on the 8th.

Update: 9/8/2011
I called The Digital Hunter and was put on hold for half an hour, barely had my situation voiced before I was transfered for another half hour. I finally hung up, suspecting that I was transfered to a dept that hadn't even opened for the day yet! I then called my bank and put a dispute on the $40 difference. My advice, get a CLEAR and OFFICIAL invoice when ordering from The Digital Hunter, one that outlines all the charges so that you too can easily dispute whatever greasy fingers may try to charge you.

I bank with Wells Fargo btw, and THEY rock!

This also started off as a 5-star review on 9/4, but over the course of my interactions, I have rated appropreately.

Update: 9/7/2011
My card was just charged an even $40 over the total invoice price. Shipping, insurance and tax are clearly stated as NULL so we'll see where this magical up-charge came from once the customer service desk opens back up.

This rating pertains to The Digital Hunter's customer service more than anything, which for the record, is amazing. Five minutes after making my initial order, I realized I bought an imported version rather than the USA version (read: documented lower quality, no manufacturer support, possibly not in English). I called The Digital Hunter to cancel my order but instead, the sharp-witted sales rep was able to give me a discount on the USA version, keeping me from paying the 7% cancellation fee and giving me a very comparable price on the product I really wanted. This will save me a lot of sleep, as I was REALLY starting to dread having a potentially incompatible, cheap, foreign product show up at my door.

"The camera arrived in excellent condition, although I was overcharged on the shipping. I had selected 3 day shipping that was supposed to be about $25. The invoice showed a $64 shipping charge, and to add insult to injury the package took a full week to get to me.

I must commend Rick who was a major help in my decision to place this order. He was extremely knowledgeable and saved me from making a grave mistake when I was prepared to order the European version ($500 less) of this Canon EOS 60D, not aware that the mountings of my L series lenses would not be compatible with that version.

"Placing the order was easy and they had what I wanted. What I especially liked, is that they did a follow up call just after I placed the order and made some recommendations that I should consider with my purchase. No hard sell, just FYI. I did go ahead with some of there suggestions. Awaiting delivery of my new camera. They also waved the insurance coverage which I really appreciated, especially when money is tight. thanks"

"At this point I am dissappointed with this site. Like other the only email all I got from them was an email I needed to contact them to complete my order and the nightmare started. After calling numerous times I finally spoke to someone and I hope he is telling the truth and I will have refund in my account Monday... Wow got an email from them telling me to take down my rating because they are doing what they said they would do. Well it is Tuesday and no refund. How abou this? Send me valid information like a tracking a number to locate the camera and see if you have recieved it back. I mean why would you ship it when you were 1. not suppose to place the order and you said you unauthorize the transaction which sat there hanging pending. If you just wait and let it pend it will eventually void and not go through? WHY DID YOU SHIP IT! WHY DO YOU NOT send emails with information? But send one in CAPS I guess to threaten me to take down my rating. Stand behind your word and refund me and I will take it down! This morning I was told and sent an email that they posted mt refund. 1644 CT still no refund. I guess I will pray tomorrow it will be in my account. Still Sept 7th nothing. Taking actions. Filed a complaint with BBB. Filed a complaint with Internet Crime Complaint I also filed with Florida Attornery General. I am also working with JAG. If you like to do business with people who give empty promises and call professional (another name for a dog) I am not giving empty threats. I am doing what is right because not wanting to order something and they know this yet submit the order anyway? Oh now you are going to send me an ALL CAPS email? I am sorry but you should be able to tell the difference between someone from the south and up North. My dears I do not need to pretend to be anyone else. I had to seek help to obtain information you did not want to give me. So I am seeking every avenue I have access to obtain my refund..the complete refund for $729. Sorry you shipped something you new from the beginning knowing I did not want it. I will contact my bank. If you posted it to my account for the right amount the this matter will be closed. But it will be not closed until I have $729 in my account and every other individual who has complaint gets their refund or their matter actually truly closed. I would appreciate if you could refrain from calling professional curse words. Act like business professional you say are. Sept 8th NO REFUND. Order submitted for a $459.00 Canon 60(told it was imported) wanted to sell me a Canon T2i, sounded great but did not have the funds in the bank. Told them this and they said will wait. Not 5 minutes getting off the phone to see if I can transfer the funds (it would take longer) I call back. On the phone with the rep and get text from bank saying it was over drawn. As I was telling him I could not place the order ok we can wait until tomorrow. I call back again explaining what they did (they know) oh we will unauthorize the transaction. Aug 29th it posted. Never got a generated email on the my so called order I placed. No tracking information. Explanation why I was not refunded. Oh it was shipped out and we recalled it and it will back Thursday Sept 1st. Your refund will be in your account by Monday. Monday no refund. Excuse that it was holiday. It will be in your bank Tuesday. Let see it is Thursday still no refund. Never got camera as I am sure it was never shipped. Just an excuse. Still no refund in my account. My bank says they have15 days from Aug 25th to issue my refund. I guess I better see it tomorrow. If not my bank disputes the charge. No merchandise and no refund. I have kept my bank updated. To be continued.... Sept 9th refund of only $699.00 MINUS THE $30 for shipping. Even though they know I could order because of fun and were to way until I actually said process the order. Now they are no longer actively participating at Resellers to monitor feed back. BOTTOM LINE the cheap camera are imported. And I don't think even have the cameras for that price to begin with. Every place I have ever order online from generates an emails upon completing an order with tracking information if they have shipped it. Be honest when doing business. They are not honest. $699 is only a deal on Canon T2i if I am buying it in the store and it comes with a kit lense. I wanted a canon 60D they said oh we have this camera only difference is a swivel. Yet camera listed in there halfa$$ order information was only 15 megapixal. People have been sent opened and used products. Are the name brand they purchased. They promise customer satisfaction with their 60 day return policy huge onthe site and free shipping listed on nextag as well. But do not honor what they have on the site. They change the rules as they go. I am sorry in all my days of customer service even as rude as some customers get I would never call them curse words and degrade them. I called and they said I was screaming. A know I was talking in my upset stern voice because I was tired being rude too.

"This is a scam. I recently bought a Nikon camera with them and they sent me a second hand one instead of a new one. In addition, the extra charger and battery pack I ordered never arrived but were charged. I am currently contesting the whole transaction with Visa. When I opened the package and saw that the equipment was second hand, I wrote an email but they don't even have the decency to respond. They are thieves."

"Liars and thieves

1. Supposed to send 3 USA EOS 7D bodies with 3 Cannon Warranty Cards but only 2 had cards.

2. All 3 EOS 7D's were open box with the lenses removed rather than just sending me what I ordered which should have been a manufactured sealed box with a Canon 7d body inside. See Canon Website (http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_7d#BoxContent)

3. Sales person named Ben said that Canon does not include a battery with the body only purchase so I would have to buy a separate battery for each camera. This is a lie see Canon website (http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_7d#BoxContent)

4. I originally requested the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM but Ben said that the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 was a better lens and currently it was cheaper because Canon was partnered with Sigma and a $500 rebate for each lens would apply. THIS WAS A LIE!! When I called Canon they said they do not work with Sigma at all.

5. I was told shipping over night would be $500 from the east coast but I was charged $734. First off, $500 S&H charge is just Digital Hunter gouging me and the extra $234 is blatant theft!!!

6. Ben told me that if I had any problems with anything I could return everything with a 5% restocking fee. Ben assured me not to worry about anything and that I was getting a better deal than anyone becasue I was buying 3 units of everything. He assured me over and over that he was taking care of me and treat this as a hassle free no worry sale. But when I received the invoice though email it stated a minimum of 10% restocking fee would apply. Even worse, when the actual items arrived the paper invoice stated NO RETURNS because Ben treated my order as a special discounted sale. In reality when you totaled everything up there actually is no discount. Actually I was over charged.

Below is my invoice. Notice he did not put any amount per item. This was to confuse me into believing I was getting a great deal, so low that he could not put in the price per item.

"I had ordered a camera (online) and as i have shopped at "these kind" of sites before i expected a call that would try to sell me a ton of extras i did not want or could afford. I have even had these site prolong my order if i did not; had one even cancel the order. I got the call and to my surprise there were no hard obnoxious sales, or anything else negative. the rep was friendly and polite and even let me know some facts about the camera i ordered that actually changed my order to a less expensive more applicable camera. WOW!! I was also running a little tight on time as the camera is a gift, the rep said he would be sure it shipped within a day... and it did! I will shop here again!"

"Beware-

Initially Ben was very helpful. After reading some of the negative reviews on line I called in on same day of purchase - friday afternoon to cancel order. I was told that I could not cancel order but could amend. I was informed that I would have to call in on Monday to cancel order.

I called in Monday morning and when I asked to have my order canceled they put me on hold and eventually received a busy signal. I called back and Ben got on the phone and asked why I wanted to cancel. I explain that I was concerned over the negative reviews that I had read on line. He initially said that i could not cancel order. When I challenged his reply he called me "jerk" because I was questioning integrity of his business. He said that he would cancel order but I would be subject to penalties.

I will not use this site again.

"I can't say enough bad things about my experience with Digital Hunter. Order placed on July 13th for a product they lied was $4000 and gave to me at a discount price of $2200. It's MSRP was really $1999. ADAM, their 'Sony Specialist for 30 years' told me that the other products I see online for $1500 were not the same product. I contacted Sony who told me "BEWARE". I called and asked to cancel my order, which they would do for $400. My only alternative was to change for a more expensive product. I independently researched other products as I couldn't trust their experts and instead bought a digital camera for $4000 on July 17th ($4496 by the time all hidden fees were applied). By August 8th still no delivery and after they got angry at my vain petitions for a tracking number JOSH offered a promise of 100% refund with money arriving in my bank within 72 hours. It is now August 19th and still no money. On the phone Josh gets angry and puts me on hold. When I call back they say that Josh isn't in the office today... even though I just spoke with him. I had no intention of leaving any reviews for this company, but they have pushed this negative experience so far that I have to warn others of this complete disaster of online shopping. DO NOT TRUST DIGITAL HUNTER.

*** UPDATE ***

Aug 31st. Still no refund. My bank is now taking action against them. DH say that it takes 30 days to refund. ANOTHER LIE. VISA requires refunds to be made in a maximum of 15 days. They will threaten you with promises saying the process will take longer if you get the bank / credit card company is involved. THAT IS ANOTHER LIE.
