"This company is shady. I do not recommend doing business with them. LISTEN to all the NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!! I ordered the Canon XSI + IS lens because it was the best price and it was listed as in stock. I received an email confirmation of the purchase immediately afterwords so I thought all would be okay despite all the negative reviews. I got a call 3 days later to confirm my order and was asked if I wanted to purchase extra batteries 1 hour 69.99 and 3 hr. 99.99. They told me that the standard battery only lasted 20 min. I said no thank you and they confirmed my camera was in stock and that it would ship in 7-9 days. I called them back a few minutes later to ensure they were not going to try and add the extra battery on my order. After confirming I didn't want the extra battery, they change their story and tell me that they are and have been out of stock. I looked on the website today and it still shows they have them in stock. They either have them and will only sell them if you buy the extra overpriced battery or they are not in stock and don't update their website and keep their staff informed. BTW, I hear this battery last a very long time so the extra battery isn't really necessary."

"I ordered a dSLR from this "company" in jan and never got anything other than a call from a rep confirming my purchase and promising delivery on the second week after my purchase.Still no camera three weeks later, i called but was kept on hold for 20 minutes with no answer, now in the process of having bank reverse order and hopefully get my financial aid money back from these scammers!"

"I wish I read the rating before ordering a Nikon Lens from US1 Camera. I placed an order on Jan 12th. They charged my credit card immediately and here we are Feb 1st and no product. No reply from them on multiple inquires and no tracking number, no answer when calling and endless hold for customer service. At this point I am not sure if this is a legitimate operation. I may have to order my credit card company to charge this back. I would advise spending a little more and ordering from a know good dealer like B&H photo.

Update: They don't even reply to the Better Business Burro.

"Astonishingly bad. Unforgivably noncommunicative. Criminally negligent. Four message. No return calls. Four emails. Ro response. A 7-9 shipping window transformed into 3 1/2 week wait. And no camera. Never spoke with same person twice, even when Michael and Alvin provided me with extensions to reach them on. This company cannot be trusted. I just checked back on my order information and they are saying they are refunding the order. A call to customer service (long wait) revealed that when the last person I spoke with contacted Nikon they were told they couldn't get the camera, so obviously they never had it in stock as advertised. Do not do business with this company."

"Do not order from US1 Photo if you actually want to receive your item. Though they frequently advertise the lowest prices, you will wait days for your item to ship, only to receive an email saying your order was canceled due to "unforeseen shortages". It shouldn't take 4 days to figure that out if the item is listed as "in stock" on the website. Also, the company's customer service line is either busy or forces you to wait at least 20 minutes EVERY TIME you call, no matter what time of day. You're better off paying a little more with a reputable seller than wasting your time on this "bargain" seller."

"Ordered a camera (Canon SD 870 IS) from us1photo a month ago. Received order confirmation via email. Never received shipping information.

Called 3 times over the next month. Each time, the hold time was over an hour. The representatives were very evasive and uninformative. When confronted about the hold times, they gave me a 'direct extension'. This was the same extension time after time...even for different representatives. It went directly to a voice mailbox.

Decided to cancel the order after a month and no shipment (claimed it was out of stock --> yet still shown as "In Stock" on website). Attempted to email ****@**** and ****@**** in order to cancel since I didn't want to wait on hold for another hour of my time. No response via email.

My experience is extremely lackluster. The lack of customer service, no verbal or electonic correspondence and shifty tactics leaves me nervous about them having my credit card information.

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! For three days I tried calling and emailing numerous times to see if my order (Nikon D90) had shipped, but they don't reply to emails and you are left on hold FOREVER in the telephone customer service cue. I finally called their sales department, and the guy I spoke to said that my order was canceled due to "no supply"; however, their website still shows the item as "in stock". Was anyone going to inform me of this or was I to wait eternally for a camera that would never arrive? TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!"

"It has been 24 business days and I have not yet received my $1200 camera lens. I have been hung up on twice today when trying to contact customer service to find out what the deal is.

If I don't get it next week, it's chargeback time. I will never buy from this company again.

"My worst online retail experience by far.

I placed an order for a camera costing $699 on January 15, 2009. I recieved an order confirmation promptly that day. I also received another email that saying, "Please contact Patrick ext#334 at your earliest convenience so that we can process your order." I called him immediately, and he started by verifying my address with me and that was all he asked that was related to processing my order. After that he just tried to sell me accessories. I declined the accessories. That was it, he said he would then process the order.

Seven days go by and on the 22nd of January, I decide to give them a call because by this point I haven't received a shipment notification from them and I'm getting concerned. I wasn't surprised that the item hadn't arrived yet though because I did receive free shipping and when I placed the order it said it would take 2-4 days to process and 7-9 days to ship. I asked the person on the phone to confirm for me that the item had shipped and to provide me with a way to track it. He was rude in his tone and told me that it had shipped but he couldn't provide me with any tracking information because some system was down. I expressed some frustration that I would not be able to track my package. He said that I would get the tracking information sent to me by email on Monday the 26th and that my package will be there by Wednesday the 28th (which if you do the math is the maximum amount of time promised if you add up the high end of the tolerances the website stated for processing and shipping). Since he was making a pretty bold statement here that those two things WILL happen, I asked him for his name and extension. His response was disturbing. He began to say one name, which sounded like it was going to be Greg, but stopped midway and said Kelly Peter. It like this, "Yeah, my name is Gre–Kelly Peter." He also told me his extension was #335.

Monday the 26th rolls around and, of course, no tracking information in my inbox (I checked my junk mail to make sure it wasn't filtered out). Wednesday the 28th rolls around and I'm crossing my fingers that at the very least my camera would show up within the given time frame, now 13 days since I ordered. It doesn't show up and by about 3:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) I'm getting a bit frustrated so I decided to call and find out where the product is. I find out from a recorded message that they are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time so they're already closed.

The next morning, the 29th, I call them up at 8:02 a.m. Pacific time. I called extension #335 so I could talk to Gre–Kelly Peter directly since he was the one who assured me my product would arrive the day before. Unfortunately I get the voicemail of someone with a very similar voice named Marco. I transfer to the operator and get directed to the DSLR department and after being on hold for about 5 minutes I get Patrick on the phone, the guy who tried to sell me accessories before he supposedly processed my order on the 15th. I start to tell him the story of what's been going on and in the middle he interrupts with "Let me transfer you to customer service" and without a chance to even respond to that I'm back on hold waiting for customer service. After 20 minutes more on hold, I get a guy named Michael. Instead of launching into a recap of my experience with his company right away, I just get right to the point and tell him what I need, which is the tracking info for my order. After looking into it he finds that my order is sitting on a manager's desk waiting to be processed. He says someone was supposed to have called me. Now I lose it and go off on him about how horrible my experience has been, how rude people have been, I've already been waiting for two weeks for my product and it hasn't even shipped. There is no sympathy in his voice and he says something like, "What do you expect me to do, I just work here." He says the only thing he can do is refund my money. Too bad he can't refund my two weeks of waiting and frustration.

I've since done a little research with Google and found that I am by no means the only person who has had a negative experience with US1Photo.com. The research seems to indicate that their reliability is really poor, they often "bait and switch" you by letting order a product and then telling you it's out of stock when you refuse their attempts to upsell you accessories, and they falsify positive feedback and ratings on online retailer comparison sites.

I will now always order from one of the trusted sellers.
