"Ordered around $1500++ of camera and accessories from this store. When I finally got the items for almost a month, they sent me a wrong tripod which is a lot cheaper! I called them and was told to send it back and include the invoice I paid for returning the wrong tripod. I called back again to follow up the returned item which they got Feb. 5 (as per tracking number) and was able to talk to Donna. "I was sceptical of US1Camera simply because I have never heard of them before this order. They have low prices and promise shipping times. They did try to upsell me which is OK. When I said "no" they moved on to the next part of the call. No pressure was involved.
I bought a Canon 40d kit with the 70-200 f2.8 IS lens. When I received an email to call back to confirm the order, I thought here it comes... But I spent more money than their typical order and wanted to confirm it was in fact me who placed the order. I completly understand they are looking out for fraudulent orders. Because the order was now a day late, they bumped me up to 2nd day shipping (from 3rd day.) I received the camera the day it was promised. The camera and lenses were new and with a USA manufacturers warranty. They are totally legitimate. I plan on buying an additional lens and flash sometime within a year and will likely go back to them.
In the day of searching for low prices on the internet and not falling prey to the scammers, it was refreshing to find a company with low prices and customer service. The main negative I had was the hold times were excessivly long at about 15-20 minutes each call."

Everyone at this store is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Today I spoke with Alex (ex# 329), and he was great.
A month after receiving my order the battery charger failed. Alex apologized for the inconvenience and immediately shipped out a replacement.

To me the mark of a great company is excellent customer service (especially after you have received your order and they have received full payment!)

"Cheap, but at what cost?

I ordered a Canon 40D kit, which was advertised to contain a 18-55 IS and 17-85 IS lens, and other accessories. After buying it, they called me a few days later for verification. That's fine. However, they then later claimed that the description on the website is wrong, and that it was a price mistake. This claim was made after my credit card has been charged. A salesman tried to convince me that this was in fact a mistake, but regardless forced me to accept another package. The camera itself however was packaged decently.

Despite their less than stellar handling of the situation, they at least demonstrated a concern towards customer satifaction by telling the general manager to call me. Nonwithstanding the fact that they offered me a battery as a "consolation", the point of the call as I took it was to see what their sales rep was doing wrong. And wrongness aplenty:

-using other customers against the customers (the "why can't you just cooperate like the rest of them" mentality");
-making the customer feel as if there are no other choices in existence and automatically denigrating other companies that have supposedly low prices,
-And thus making the customer feel regret if the purchase is completed somewhere else vs. at US1Photo.

These are techniques that I expect from a politician in a smear campaign, not a camera company. This is not a criticism of US1Photo so as it is a stern lesson in acceptable customer service. I hope from the experience, though, that they gain valuable insight on the subtleties of convincing a customer to purchase vs. simply going too far."
