"I ordered the $379 Canon 350D Rebel XT (Body only) from Photonation online. I called the next day to find out why the charge on my invoice said Mastercard instead of Visa. What a mistake that was. I was told the camera I had ordered came with nothing, not even a battery. The saleman talked me into a four hour battery which is really only a standard off brand battery and the Canon USA Retail version of the camera. This added $300 to the price. I said OK and hung up the phone. After thinking about it a minute or so, I called back and when I finally got through, I told him I wanted to cancel the order. I told him it was more money than I could afford. He said I would have to pay some credit card fee of ~$50 that they incurr to cancel because my credit card had already gone through. I said it was more than I could afford and to at least take off the battery he had talked me into purchasing. He finally said he would credit me the cost of the battery if I didn't cancel. It's been almost a month and still no credit. I called and talked to the salesman a week after the order and he said he would take care of it. It's been almost a month and still nothing. I called them today and talked to someone else. They pretty much told me I was lying about the free battery and that the original saleman would never have given me that deal. He said they buy the camera for $620 and my price was $649. He said they would loose money with that deal. What a lie. Never, Never buy from these crooks!!!"
"Extremely dissapointed with service & delivery. Salesman Mike was rude and extremely high pressured trying to sell me unneeded accessories. Billing was incorrect but was corrected eventually. Short shipped a battery and CF Card was not was promissed. Many attempts to correct the battery and CF card but with no results. Shipping was promissed for 2-days and 10 days later the goods arrived. Stay away from this store. "
"BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE
I was searching for the Canon PowerShot S3 IS on a price comparison website and came across this product at USA Photo Nation at a very good price - $269 plus shipping. So I went to the USA PhotoNation website, selected the item and I put it in my shopping cart. I input all of the information for shipping and payment and confirmed the $269 price. But AFTER I hit the submit button the price changed to $310.
I immediately sent an email to the Company (it was after hours) and did not hear back from them. After two days, I decided to call the company. I was informed that the item I was interested in purchasing was a Chinese version of this camera. All of the markings on the camera would be in Chinese and there would be no instructions for use nor would there be any warranty. You can imagine how upset I was.
The customer service man tried to upgrade my purchase to the “USA” model for an additional $100 and I told him that that was not acceptable. With this man on the phone, I went back to the website and plugged in the information for the camera. In no place was it disclosed that this was a “Chinese version.” When I asked the man on the phone about this, he said, it was in the Companies “policies” section at the top of their web page to sell foreign cameras. I searched through policies and could not find this disclosure. Of course, at this point, the man hung up on me.
I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT RECOMMENDING THIS WEBSITE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF THEIVES.

"This store is one BIG SCAM! I ordered a $1,600
Sony A1U camcorder before I read reviews about
this company. (big mistake on my part). But thanks to this site, I cancelled my
order the next day. Oh yes, Jason called saying
he needed my three digit credit card number and
of course the camcorder I was to purchase was only
a skeleton and for only a $1,000 more I could have
the rest of the camera. They also went on to say
tha the $500 dollar rebate from Sony would go to
them because they were giving me such a great deal
on the price. Ya right. Lucky, I cancelled my order before they got their hooks into me.
"
"WARNING This company is a flim/flam front. While trying to purchase a Sony digital DCST9 camera which has a lithium ion battery, they tried to resell me the battery that comes with the camera for more than $100. Be aware that they are selling imported cameras with NO Sony warranty. I cancelled the order - they had not charged the card yet and the man (who was very rude (gave phony name) tried to tell me that they would now charge my card for 15% because I cancelled the order - I had not even confirmed the order yet, they had not even charged the card for the order yet. I cancelled, sent them an email requesting that they remove all my information from their data base and stating that I owed them nothing, they had shipped nothing and the order had never been completed. Today received an email from them asking to CONFIRM my order - ? I called the number and told them I had cancelled yesterday the man started to argue with me and then said - don't ever call here again, you are banned from this company???? Thank God, very happy about that but please DO NOT SHOP AT THIS PHONY FRONT OF A STORE.
This is the worst store on the internet, they are absolutely the bottom feeders."
"I have recently ordered a Canon S3 camera from this fraudulent company prior to reading this post. Their "price" was very competitive as well.
I received a call from their salesman today to confirm the order. Though not mentioned in the website when the order was made, the camera that was quoted was "not a US version" and that the US version is $79 more.
Subsequently, I cancelled the order. The salesman was pushy why I wanted to cancel the order and became quite rude on the phone. When I asked him to transfer me to his supervisor, the supervisor he "transferred" me to was the same salesman.
When I requested repeatedly to cancel the order, he made a mocking racial enunciations/slurs to further provoke me.
I'm gonna have to burn this company down..."
"Ordered a camera Sony great price $300, memory $45, Specific accessory case and battery $49.99. FedExed in because was Birthday gift.
Received Camera and memeory OK they set the cheapest case accessory they had. I complained they slow shipped another cheapy case no battery. I complained they sent a Sony case the wrong one and still no battery.
ONLY buy their specials they appear to be dishonest when supplying accessories. I am out $49.99 and distgusted."
"Stay away from this store!!! Do yourself a favor & do a "google" search for USAphotonation.com. Read the costumers' comments. The store does not have a mailing address on the web site & not even on the invoice! The advertised price is not correct. I received my order with parts missing. When I contacted them regarding the missing parts, they said they would ship them separately.
A week later, I received an opened box tripod which was broken!
I learned an important lesson: in the future, IF I decide to buy anything on-line, I will do more research.
I read the comments of the other costumers, and I had a similar bad experience.
This web site is a very good resource for everyone who is planning to purchase an item on-line.
"
"The company has fraudulent, misleading advertising online. They claimed that they had Sony DCR-HC26 camcorder for $230. When I made a purchase, I was told that it's out of stock. Then the salesperson called Larry recommended a "Deluxe kit" which includes the camcorder, an additional AC adapter, a rechargeable battery, a tripod and a three-piece cleaning kit for $350. After I received the shipment, I found that the so-called "Deluxe kit" only contains the standard camcorder, and the tripod which they promised free of charge with every camcorder purchase. I called several times trying to resolve the issue with the salesperson. Each time I was transferred back and forth between the customer service and the salesperson and was put on hold for ever. I was treated very impatiently and brutally. When I told them that I wanted to return the package, they said they would charge a 15% fee and I should pay the shipping fee myself."
"Well, I'm ashamed. I know better than to order from any website I had not done business with before without checking their user ratings thoroughly, not just from the referring site.
I ordered a Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorder from them on Friday, 3 June 06. The next day, Sunday, I did look them up after getting their email, and read about all the bait-and-switch/upgrade scams, and the rudeness of these guys.
I called them first thing Monday, and after giving "Jason" my order number, he said he just had a couple of questions before shipping my order.
The first one was, as CONFIRMATION, what is the 3 digit code on the back of your credit card? I said "What's the second question?
It was, do you know that this model doesn't come with any of the accessories needed to operate it, not even the battery?
I'd read a lot of comments about how insufferably rude these people have been, so I gave him some RUDENESS.
The last part I shouted was "Do you hear me? Cancel my order!" Then he hung up on me.
I called Citi and alerted them, they've always done an excellent job of getting me out of dumb stunts.
I feel better, even though I might have to change my CC number.
After posting this, I'm also going to use methods 1 and 2 below.
There are some ways, low tech, high tech, or legal to at least cause them pain.
1. Call the webhosting company and complain about how you were defrauded.
2. File a complaint with their State Attorney General's Internet Crime site.
3. The low-tech fun way:
All of these scammers have to have a phone number to do their dirty work.
They likely have caller ID, but I can think of a lot of other numbers (and voices) I can use besides my own.
So if any of you are fed up, sympathetic, bored, or would like to abuse somebody, just give any of these jerks a call.
Start out polite and naive, don't use your real name, address, or credit card number.
Waste their time, string them along, then give them some ABUSE!!!
See how long they can take it before they hang up.
Clog their system, give "Jason" a headache, feel better.
Go to their website to choose a product and get their number, get your script together, and have some FUN!
Repeat as necessary with any of the jerks.

"When I ordered the Nikon D-70S on May 28th, the USA Photo Nation website listed the battery, charger, and software as included with the camera. I received a call from Larry several days later to "confirm" the order. At that time I was informed that the camera did not come with any of the Nikon supplied accessories, such as battery, charger, cables, etc. When I informed him that their website listed at least the battery, charger and software as included, he said that was all a mistake, and that nothing was included.
My experience was much the same as others who have written reviews. This is a bait-and-switch outfit in absolutely the worst tradition of the New York off-price camera market. I've purchased many cameras in the past from such institutions as 47th St. Photo, and retailers in Brooklyn, NY whose operations were hidden from view. Their prices were low, and they gave you honest value.
USA Photo Nation exists to prey on those consumers who will resign themselves to having been cheated. They will continue in business until sites such as this force them to change their name, and slither once again onto to the Internet.
Having lived in New York for many years, one question comes to mind. With a Consumer Affairs Department as powerful as the one in New York, why are all these dishonest businesses allowed to exist? Check the addresses, they are mostly located in Brooklyn and Queens, and that is in the heart of New York City. Who is protecting these people? Maybe if the city's Consumer Affairs Dept. gets enough complaints about these businesses, they may shut them down. After all, they are licensed by the CA Department. "
"Okay everyone, here's critical advice which I should have adhered to when ordering from an online merchant with such a low price for the product I wanted (Sony DCR-DVD405) - "If the price looks to good to be true, it is!" If you don't listen to this, you're in for a lot of frustration and in my case, credit card fraud as well.
Now to the transaction in question. USA Photo Nation (which I've read here deals under another name Radioactivedeals.com among many other names the same owner uses) was advertising this camcorder for an awesome price. And you know what, it was too good to be true indeed.
This company deceives you in every which way. I called their customer service specifically on this product and asked the person if this was a U.S. version in retail packaging and if I'll get the proverbial email confirmation stating to call them after my online order, which is normally a bait to upsell you on accessories. The guy says it is a U.S. version, and they will only email me to contact them if there's a discrepancy with the billing/credit card info.
Of course, that was a lie because I got the email asking me to contact them - a person by the name of "Thomas". I knew right away what was in store. But I got a little optimistic at first (after being placed on hold for 20 min) because the guy asked to confirm my card's 3-digit security code on the back (information that I have revealed to quite a few online merchants, albeit reputable ones). Well, right after that the guy asked if there's any other question before he ships the product. Good thing I asked! All of you out there, never forget to ask!
I asked him one last time if the product was a U.S. version and had all the manufacturer accessories included. What do you know - he says it's only the camera (no power cord, USB cable, etc) because it's an overseas version - no where on the site does it say this, and the guy has the audacity to say it's on the website if I just look (huh?). I would have to pay a lot more for the U.S. version. Wow, what a bunch of deceiptful liars! And then the guy goes into all his antics about why I wouldn't buy the U.S. version and there would be a 7% fee for canceling. People - never accept this!! As a consumer this is not legal business practice no matter what they say. As long as the item has not shipped, there should be no fee - your credit card company will always back you up on this. And even if they say it has shipped, they're probably lying - just say please make sure if it has because you will call your credit card company to credit back the full amount.
After I hung up the phone, I kinda knew my credit card info was compromised. So today, I check my statement online, and there's a $260 charge to some Ad company in Toronto!! I filed a fraud charge with my credit card company and an investigation is underway. Needless to say, the charged will be credited back and the account is closed. But now I have to go through the invconenience of updating all my auto pay accounts and online accounts with the new credit card number.
If an attorney is reading this or anyone here knows of an attorney seeking class action members, please let me know (****@****). I'll surely provided my witness testimony. USA Photo Nation and all the other AKA names the owner uses should be prosecuted! I feel sorry for the people that get strong-armed and scared into buying things from them.
Don't pay any attention to "good" feedback from other customers. I'm sure this company uses some valid transactions to disguise its dispicable business practices. And note, good luck to those who have bought from them as far as future customer support. They will do everything in their power to keep you from returning the product and NOT to refund any of your money. Bait and switch is one thing, but stealing my credit card information - that's truly horrendous. These guys should be closed down."
"As most people have stated, this is essentially a scam company.
I ordered the Canon 30D (Body Only) and got an email stating I needed to call them (sound familiar). Upon talking to the representative, I was informed that the software, cables, and battery items were not a part of the package. The rep kept pressing the fact that the camera needed the software to function. The software, which according to him would normally cost me $300, was being offered to me for $200. I informed him that I was certain that I could find the drivers (which are the only essential software item needed) on the Canon website for FREE. He did not reply, rather he started trying to sell me the Canon 20D instead, which, incidentally, was a little more expensive (believe it or not). We argued over several things for a while, and then I told him to cancel my order. He initially told me it would be a 7% re-stocking fee. I told him that that was absolutely bogus, as he hadn't even shipped out the camera! Then, he went to a 5% credit card cancellation fee. Luckily, I had my laptop right in front of me and was looking at my credit card statement. They hadn't even processed my card! I told him that, and he dropped that point.
Then, the conversation became very odd. He asked me if I was a stock broker or someone who was involved in stocks professionally. I refused to answer that question, as it was clearly not relevant to the conversation. Then, he tried low-brow psychology on me by saying, "Oh, ok, since you won’t answer my question, it is clear that you are a stock broker." I called him out on it and told him that that type of psychology would not work with me. He kept on pressing this question for some reason, and then I told him that I expected this order to be cancelled with no fees or I would pursue legal action. He dropped the issue, and that was it. Don’t know what he was trying to get at with the stock broker issue.
UNREAL!"
"I recently ordered a camcorder from here for a very cheap price. The next day I get an email saying that I needed to call them regarding my order. When I did the guy tries to sell me all of this stuff for a cheaper price and stupid me, bought a few things. Before I knew it my bill was almost doubled and the price of each item was not listed, just a "package price". I did a little research and found out that this company is a scam! so the next day I call to cancel my order and boy did they make it hard! They placed me on hold for over 5 minutes and switched me back and forth from customer service to sales rep. By the time I talked to someone they told me that my order had been "shipped" and that I can no longer cancel my order. Not true! I checked the status online and it was "in shipping" and I told the guy that I knew they still had it. He then changes his story and says that the box is marked "shipped" and that I can no longer cancel. Not true again! Their policy states that I can cancel even after it has been shipped. In the end they would not let me cancel my order. I had to refuse the package and am now disputing it with my credit card company. I just got an email from them today saying to call when they found out that I had refused the package. Stay away from these ppl! They'll put you through hell."
"Unbelievable that companies like this are allowed to stay in business. You'd think we would be protected from consumer fraud. I ordered a Canon 20D online for the advertised price of $639 after seeing glowing reviews on Shopcartusa.com (obviously, this site also operates fraudulently as my later research revealed). I was called the next day by "Jason" who informed me that I was buying a grey market camera that was a plastic body versus the magnesium body that the "US" version has. I informed Jason that I was looking at the USA Photonation website and the camera advertised stated that it had a magnesium body. He said "well you don't get a warrantee with this camera." I told him to honor my order and ship me the camera, and I'd deal with the warrantee issues if I needed to. They shipped the camera, but charged me $1154. Unbelievable. I'm dealing through American Express to try and get a refund."
