"Seller ships camera to wrong address. UPS cannot deviver the camera and returns it to USA photo. Two weeks after the camera was returned by UPS as undeliverable ( seller shipped it to the wrong address), seller contacts me and states no refund will be issued, they will just let the box sit until and send them a return authorization form. Another 3 weeks pass and they credit my credit card for $80.00 less than I paid. They seem to think I should pay them $80.00 for them sending the camera to the wrong address."
"Order was placed. Four days later, they sent e-mail to call them. Camera did not include any accessories (battery, cable, sd card, etc). I could buy one with all the accessories for $100 more. I still wanted my original order so they told me it was backordered 3-4 weeks (it still said available on their website). I still wanted the item and was willing to wait. Five minutes after the phone call, I got an e-mail cancelling my order."
"Bizarre.
I purchased a Kodak V550 from this store at their low advertised price. It was a great deal! As you should always do (but don’t), I did not read the store policies, etc. The camera that was being listed as “new” is actually newly refurbished (as stated in the company profile page). The day after I purchased the camera, some guy sent me two emails and left a voicemail with my office phone and my cell phone saying he had an urgent matter.
Thinking I must have typed my credit card number in wrong, I called right away. When I called, the guy on the other end of the phone said that before he could send the order he had to sell me a package to go with it. I said I was not interested, so the guy said that if I did not buy the package I would have to purchased the battery and the data transfer wire as all his refurbished camera are sold as “CAMERA ONLY”.
Well, this is where it became good. I told the guy that if this was the case, I wanted to cancel my order. He explained that I would have to pay a 7% restocking fee, but at this point I knew this was shady and wanted out (I would sacrifice $20). The guy then said I was stupid if I canceled my order. He argued with me calling me stupid, idiot, moron, jacka--, and so I hung up. The guy calls me back and starts yelling at me. I said cancel the order and stop harassing me.
Well – two weeks later, no 7% restocking fee. My recommendation, use beachcamera.com and stay away from usaphotonation.com.

"Believe it or not the salesperson I spoke with on the phone actually threatened me.
I found a Nikon D50 with a Nikon lens listed on their website for $399. Wow! I thought. I called up and asked to order 2 products- the Nikon set and a filter package.
First the salesman took all my info down including my credit card number. Then he asked me which charger I wanted the 180$ oner or the even more expensive one.
"Isn't this a box from the factory?" I asked. "Of course" the salesman replied. "Whats included in the box?" I asked.
At this point the slaesman went through a big long speech about how he was going to upgrade my camera to an $800 set for only $580 and give me the filter set at a discount. BY the time he was through I wasn't sure what I was getting. I just wanted a basic camera set but it turns out the one advertised for $399 does not include a charger, coputer cables, software or anything. I started to feel a bit confused and pressured, after all this is not what I called up to buy. I politely told the salesperson I needed to cancel my order. This is when things got ugly. The salesman told me that I had "wated 18 minutes of his time". He also told me he was going to "blacklist me from all websites" and "Good luck buying a camera except for $900 at your local retailer". Well guys I went to another website and bout the camera for a great value from a company with good customer service. At first glance USAPhotoNation seems like it has some great prices but dig a little deeper before you buy. It's confusing and pushy NY style dealing and poor customer service make this company a poor overall value. "
"I ordered a Canon SD450 from this company on 1/2 and paid $21.95 for 3 - 5 day shipping so I would have the camera for an upcoming vacation. I didn't receive the camera and called USA Photonation on 1/18 to check the status, at which time they told me that I had ordered an "overseas model" and would need to pay approx. $70 for an upgrade to a model that would work in the US. I said okay, when my questions weren't adequately answered and I decided to trust them instead of my own instincts... big mistake! I was also told that I needed to call my credit card company and add my shipping address to my account so they could charge me for the camera. I then did some research and realized that the SD450 was on many websites and nothing was ever mentioned about a foreign model. I called USA Photonation back to cancel and was told that I needed to speak w/ the person who sold me the camera. When I said that I had purchased online and, therefore, had no salesperson, I was told to "please not make a food out of me" and then further belittled by his slow and sarcastic recount of my purchase. I was told to call back tomorrow and speak w/ Kenny. I asked when Kenny would be in and was told "tomorrow". After asking "what time will Kenny be in" 2 more times, I was told to try around 9:30. I then got online and found this website, called my credit card company. No charge has shown up yet and I did not add my shipping address to my account, so, hopefully that will keep them from being able to charge me. I have already filed a complaint w/ the NY Attorney General and would encourage others to do the same. http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/complaint_alert.jsp
This company is a huge scam and they make it difficult to cancel an order by the shear fact that they are so mean and rude! No one wants to have to call again and deal w/ these people. "
"We have a very similar story to the others listed here. We placed an order for a Konica Minolta Dimage X1 and soon received an email telling us to call Charlie about our order.
We called Charlie about our order and were informed that the camera came with none of the expected accessories. The website shows the "Lithium-ion batteries" as a "feature", but the battery was going to have to be purchased separately.
When we stated that we wanted to cancel the order Charlie told us that there would be a 7% charge. We told him that we weren't going to buy the camera from him because we could get it cheaper from Best Buy once he added all of the accessories (battery, memory and docking station) in.
He told us if we could give him a tracking number from an order that we placed that gave us a cheaper price that he would cancel his order. We called to give him the tracking number and he wouldn't speak to us; nobody there will talk to us now and we were charged for the camera.
Our credit card company is giving us our money back and filing complaints on our behalf. Do not waste your money on this company!"
"Ordered Panasonic camcorder - website says "IN STOCK". Next day receive message asking to call and 3 minutes after that another saying that order was cancelled. On the phone told that item out of stock."
"This is one of the worst customer service experiences that I have had. I ordered a Canon Powershot A620, which on their website was $269.00. They called me the morning after stating that I ordered the "overseas" version, and that I was only allowed to get the US version(they acted like it was my fault), which happened to be a hundred dollars more. Nowhere on the site was this stated (I still can't find any documentation). I finally just said I wasn't interested anymore so they cancelled my order. Buyers beware, the prices listed on the site are not what they intend to charge you. There customer service was horrendous to say the least."
"This store is horrible. I ordered the JVC Everio gz20 microdrive camcorder. 5 minutes after placing the order they called back stating that i only ordered a "replacement" camera and it came with nothing other than a camera. The details portion said that it came with the cables, battery etc...The guy Kenny was a complete idiot and was yelling at me. I have never delt with anyone like this. I wanted to cancel the order and he wouldn't let me...said that I was already charged. My order started out at 459 dollars and ended up being 729 after all was said and done, and he didn't send me what he said he would. The extended life battery and a large carrying case for the camera. I was completely scammed. I am trying to file a complaint with the better business bureau, but of course I can't find any kind of address...Anyone have that info??? I am not letting this go."
"Big Scam... Don't order from this company. Be smart. "
"BEWARE!!!
I order online ALL the time but have never had an experience like this. I receive a phone call at work. I had ordered a Canon S2 IS for $389.00 including shipping and tax. The rep from USAPHOTONATION said that I had bought the "foreign version" of this camera and to upgrade to a USA version that $100 would be added to the price. The rep was very rude and said he would add it to my credit card and send me the USA version. He basically hung up on me. I called back and was on hold for at least 10 or 15 minutes only to basically get in an argument with the customer service rep. He said that he would give me the camera for $400 off, for $89.00. I said no way...by then I had done research on the internet and saw all the complaints posted about his company. I told him about the negative comments on the internet and he had no response. I had to basically raise my voice at work before he understood that I wanted to cancel my order. He said he would cancel it and hung up on me. That was just today. I had to cancel my credit card today for the fear of him charging me anyway. Wish I would've researched beforehand. But I've learned my lesson!"
"I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT AFTER ALL THE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS STORE THAT THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. I ATTEMPTED TO POST A REVIEW ON SHOPCARTUSA.COM BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE THEY ARE A 5 STAR BUSINESS. I ATTEMPTED TO POST COMPLAINTS 13 TIMES AND NOT ONE OF THEM ARE POSTED. IT APPEARS THAT SHOPCARTUSA.COM MUST GET KICKBACKS FROM THEM SINCE THEY ONLY POST WHAT THEY WANT WHICH SHOULD BE FRAUD IN ITSELF. USAPHOTONATION IS THE BIGGEST SCAM AND I AM GLAD I DON'T LIVE IN NEW YORK BECAUSE THE NY GENERAL ATTORNEY DOESN'T CARE THAT THE LITTLE GUY IS GETTING RIPPED OFF BY THESE IDIOTS! I NOTIFIED BBB AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T 'HANDLE' BAIT AND SWITCH ISSUES. BBB IS A WASTE OF TIME IN THIS CASE."
"i made the purchase, then canceled the following day, because the rep tried telling me that i had to pay extra for the manuals, cd and wires that are supposed to come with a canon rebel xt"
"Bait and Switch
They advertised a Fuji Finepix S9000 for $385. The day after I bought it a service rep called and said the price was now $585. I said I wouldn't pay the extra money and they cancelled my order."
"I ordered a Panasonic Camcorder from them. It was a great price. HOWEVER I got the "We're trying to contact you..." email and there was no one answering their phones for several days over the long weekend. When I finally contacted someone, the real price for the real, full product went from 759 to 1400 for exactly what other sites are selling for about 1000. It is typical bait and switch. They did not charge my credit card or ask for a "re-stocking" fee. The just cancelled my order. At least I have not seen a fee come through on my credit card yet. I don't think I would use them again. I would rather pay the real price for something and get it before I grow old."
