"I placed an order for a Canon Powershot 450 on May 4, 2006. Shipping is from 7-12 days. I waited after 12 days to call them. They didn't send me any email regards to my order or status of my order. I finally login their site and checked the messages, they told me to contact this guy name Thomas. He is a butt hole. I asked him why has my camera not ship yet, he ask me why shipping address is different from billing address...after I verified everything, he told me to add a shipping address into my billing address too, but I told them there is no section in their website that allow me to do that...he didn't explain or show me how...He immediately offer to cancel my order. I called to check why and try to solve the problem...Gosh! they offer to cancel instead of HELP. So, I got mad and cancel my order. BAD SERVICE"

"Maybe I am sooooooooo lucky, they did refund my $$$ back after I made many calls and my bank involved. But I do NOT know why they only refund me $781.97 of the $1059.96? Any suggestions?

I don't think I made my clear statements for you guys -USA PHOTO Nation

1. I already send the camera back to you, signed by for S. IFergan.
2. Please don't send anything back to me, I do NOT want to exchange any items with you guys, because I already canceled the order with USA PHoto Nation, my order no is: 75980-P.
3. Rest of items that you shipped based on the order are on the way to USA Photo Nation by Fedex.
4. My company already disputed/stopped the payment for the purchase of the items.
5. If I have some difficulty for this manner, I or my company will look for a legal justice in future against any illegal issues.

I am really tired to deal with USA Photo Nation.

I called the USA Photo Nation again this morning and Canon USA. First the USA Photo refer me to call canon for the Manufacture Limited Warranty Card, and the salelady in Canon told me that they will never forget to put the card into the box, and the Canon will not give me a new one. and She also claimed that many people in the world already complained against those "bait and switch" for the same store.

After that I called the USA Photo and ask for return, they agreed that the camera "maybe" a refurbished one. they asked me send just the camera back for exchange. I agreed and I have send the one back by fedex at 12;00pm today.

Letter I wrote to USA Photo:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The reason, that I have to return this item that I have ordered in April 27th through the phone line, is because the original package box does NOT include/have the Manufacture Limited Warranty Card, so I can not get my $100.00 rebate from the Canon manufacture.

Another issue on this ordered item-Canon Rebel XT camera body- is the bag that contain the operation manual already opened, when I received the package before I opened the operation manual.

What I ordered is a brand new camera, not a refurbished one, so I want to have a brand new one on this time, so please send a brand new one asap.

I am looking forward to having my BRAND NEW CANON REBEL XT.

I think I was screwed by the USA photonation. Because I already opened the box. Now I realize that the box already had been opened before I opened the box. The Camera was refurbished. I called the store, no body pick up the phone on the other hand. I do NOT think the store will allow me return the camera anyway. So my 1050.0 dollars was wasted.

I was misled by everyprice and shocartusa.com at beginning shopping the camera. Because the goole guide me there.

After contact to Canon USA, I found that the USAphoto Nation is not an authorized store.

Well, I wonder why no body take those guys to a court. I like to donate some $$$$ for the law suit on the "bait and switch".

Any sugesstions?

I have purchased a Canon Rebel XT camera from the USAPhonation.com (http://www.usaphotonation.com/) in April 27th of this year through the phone, and I just got the Camera on May 4th. Actually, I check the internet and googled the “Rebel XT”. I found that the USAphotonation have relatively lower price and better review on their service. However, I had different experiences with other consumers. The person that picked up my call is Jamie and his extension is 238.

I am not happy with this store, because of:

1. They promised me that they will ship the merchandise/camera through the UPS over night. However they shipped the camera through the ground transportation. It is not big deal for me to have the camera sooner or later, but what is the matter is they do NOT follow what they promised to their customers!!
2. The Canon Rebel XT has $100.00 rebate from Canon Corp with a Copy of Warranty Card. However, when I opened the package box, I can NOT find the original Warranty Card in the package, and the USAphotonation hold the Warranty card for their own purpose!!!

3. I called their customer services this morning (May 5th) to ask the Warranty Card, they send me to an extension that nobody picks up the phone what so ever!! They tried to avoid this issue for somehow!!
4. The price in the USAphotonation is not as less as other local stores, after I checked the local camera store. And the staffs in the USAphotonation always push you to buy more and more things through the phone, which in not necessary accessories. I wonder what the % of return customers the store has.

5. They even push me to buy extended warranty, I asked them it is the Canon warranty, and they told it is. But after I opened my box, it is third party warranty!!! How I can trust this company!!

"Yes, the history is repeating.
Following the link from http://www.everyprice.com/item.asp?item_Id=123689&search_id=424200652038149420521
in order to buy Sony DCR-DVD505 Camcorder. I was in a rush and didn't check reviews on other sites. As you can see on everyprice.com are more than 700 reviews with average score of 4.5 out of 5. So, on Sunday 23 I placed my order and on the next day I received usual message that they were trying to reach me (no messages in voice mail at all). Ok, I called back and after few transfers (it was very interesting `cause I think that I heard TV and the sound was like it was somewhere in the living room) the person asked me if I know the difference between the imported and US model. At that moment I've remembered about this type of business and told them that “everything is clear for me right now, please cancel my order”. The person started to threaten me with charging of 7% cancellation fee. I told that I’ve read all terms and conditions during the purchase and there was nothing about this 7%. This information is only given on website in "our policies" and should be shown during the order process. At the same time I have canceled the number used for this “purchase” (thanks to the Citi’s virtual credit cards) and informed the salesman about my actions. It makes him very angry; he told me that I don’t have money `cause I’m trying to buy the cheapest stuff and that I’ll not find it anywhere for the price below 1100. And so on.. and so on.. My final words were just “Cancel an order, Bye”…and I hanged out.

Also I wrote a review on the everyprice.com, but I think that it will not pass the moderation according to the others reviews on it (almost all of them are very positive)

"CAUTION: They will use the "bait and switch” on you. The Canon 20D (body) advertised for $699 is a cheap plastic knock-off. Their WEB site say’s you get a “refined magnesium alloy body:” they say it is a misprint, and it does not come with anything else; i.e. battery, charger, software, etc.. When they call, and they will, they try to talk you into the real camera, it is $300 more. You are warned!"

"Watch out for these people! The classic bait and switchers. I ordered a Sony DSCH1 digital camera. I should have known the price was too low. After I ordered the phone rang, and a good old fashioned NY City hustler was on the phone. He advised me the camera they had advertised was the "Chinese version" and wouldn't even work in the US! I said I could "upgrade" to the US version for a $100.00. He was very unpleasant. When I advised I wanted to cancel the order, he advised they already had shipped the camera, and charged my card, and there would be a re-stocking fee of 15%, plus, having to pay the shipping both ways. I am now going to have to dispute this huslter's charge with my credit card company. DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR AND ORDER THROUGH A REPUTABLE DEALER LIKE BUYDIG OR NEWEGG."

Ordered a Canon XT Rebel EOS-350D Silver Body for $409 + $19.90 7-12 Day S&H. No conformation email was received after order. Next day received email to contact Alan at extension 243 in regards to my order. First Alan confirmed my address. Alan asked about what types of cameras I have. I told him I have both an SLR and Digital and asked if I had any lenses. I told him I have some Minolta lens that I planned to use. He said they wouldn't work. I told him someone said they would. He asked if I had any questions. I said I wondered if the Body came with a battery. He said it didn't and started describing the different battery packages they have. I told him I could find a battery and charger elsewhere. He told me if I didn't by the battery and charger that they couldn't warranty the Camera and couldn't sell it to me. I said I'd like to keep the order just as it was. He told me it'd be 7 to 10 weeks for the order to be shipped. I said I thought it said 7 to 10 days on the shipping. He said 7-10 weeks because it was coming from overseas. He asked me if I wanted to cancel the order. I said no, I can wait. So I'll be interested to see what happens next.

"Got what looked like a good deal on a Cannon point and shoot. Was going to ship to my son, they called to get his address verified. Then the guy told me the one I ordered was an OEM version, not a full version with charger etc. Wanted me to upgrade for another $60. Thats contrary to what their web site said, and when I told him to cancel the order he become abusive. "

"I purchased from this site becuase it advertised 100 dollars lower than everywhere else (for a sony digital camera dsc-t9 ) i then get the bait and switch e-mail telling me that the one i am buying is an "OEM" model which dosn't inculde battery or cables or anything. Note, no where on the website does it mention this. Well I call the salesmen and he offers me the "retail" package for B&H's price. I should have just canceled my order and went to B&H, in the end i would have probably saved about 10 dollars. The salesmen did offer me all sorts of accessories but i politely declined and he did not push on. After this conversation i found their review page here and got very nervous, but just as the salesmen promised, he did ship it out that day and i did recieve it the next day. So in the end i neither got a great deal nor did i get screwed. the transaction was fairly straightforward except for the blatently false advertising on the website. Also i should note. the camera i recieved did not come in a "sealed" package, ie no tamper-proof sticker on the box, i may have gotten a returned or refurbished camera, but there was no refurbished sticker on it, they may have taken it off. the camera works like it is supposed to so im not really dissatisified.

"Yes, the ol' "bait-and-switch" scheme. I came across USA Photo Nation seeing that they had the cheapest price for a Minolta Maxxum 5D (listed for $479) and purchased it immediately. All seemed fine until the following day when they sent me an email telling me that I needed to call either an 800 or local number and speak to Kenny, extension 213, "in regards to your order." Not being available this past weekend (purchased 2/25/06) they sent another email only three hours after the first one. Then they left a message on my answering machine telling me that I needed to call them. Still out of the house and not back til Monday morning, they called early that morning (my mother answered the phone). They asked her if I was going to Europe (I ordered it for her to give to me as a birthday present) and of course I wasn't, because the camera that I ordered was supposedly the European model and that they would send me the USA model for an additional $130. I *definitely* did not order the European one. I made sure it said "Maxxum 5D" (whereas the European model is the Dynax 5D) when I ordered. I told them to cancel the order, that I would find a better price somewhere else. They told me that I just clicked on the cheapest link and ordered the wrong model (untrue). "Kenny" then told me that he would send me the USA model at his cost, plus $10 insurance, that I wouldn't find a better price online. I decided to say "OK" to the offer and that was it, until I read all of the reviews of this company on this website (should have read them first! Me stupid!) and realized these guys were doing the bait-and-switch to dozens and dozens. I looked at the balance on my order and it was now $749.99! A far cry from what "Kenny" told me. I called Visa and my local bank hoping they would be able to stop any transaction from this company but no luck. I had to wait til the transaction completed then I would have to have everything submitted in writing. Knowing that time was wasting away, I called and asked them, politely as possible despite everything, to cancel the order. They said that it was already processed. I told them I didn't care. They said they would charge me a "7% cancellation fee". Eventually, after being put on hold a few times they cancelled it and received an email saying they cancelled it. *Hopefully* they really did and my credit card won't be charged. STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!"

"Horrible experience. Ordered a sony camera DSC-T7 online for 289+Tax & S/H. Next day 'Jamie' called to confirm last four of credit card. He said the order placed is for camera case without battery and memory. If I wanted every thing in the box it will cost $349+Tax+S/H. He called me and my wife stupid to expect sony camera for $289. The manager, 'Ted' was even worse. Finally I told him to cancel the order as I do not want a shell for a camera. He refused. I told him I will take up the matter with Am. Express. Buyer beware. I will never deal with this company again"
