"Worst online order experience I've ever had. 3 days after placing an online order for a digital camera, I received an email telling me to call to confirm the order. After being transferred several times and waiting over 10 minutes on hold, a salesperson finally answered and almost immediately insisted that I needed to order batteries and other add-on items that increased the price by $200. He claimed that the camera I had ordered did not come with the factory supplied battery, charger, software, USB cable, etc... I told him that I needed to check other website prices - that while their advertised price appeared to be cheaper, in reality that might not be the cheapest price. The salesman became abusive at that point, telling me that he was getting annoyed - that I could never find a cheaper price anywhere else. I offered that while that could be the case, I wanted to check for myself. He then told me that he would make certain that I could not buy the camera from ANY website. I asked him how he proposed to do this and he said he would notify all other online merchants - give them my name, address and last 5 digits of my credit card and prohibit me from ordering the camera. I asked him for his name at this point (he had only introduced himself as Jamie), and he refused to give me his last name. I then told him to cancel my order, and he told me that it had already been placed. He then told me that if I could find the camera on another website for a cheaper price, that he would give me the camera for free. I pointed out that I doubted this - that he would not even tell me his name, at which point he said his last name was Taggett. I found another website with him on the phone advertising the camera for a cheaper price - and he told me to call them from a cell phone with him still on the line - that it could not be true. I called the other company and was placed on hold - at which point Mr. Taggett told me he could not wait anymore. He said he would now place my order on hold (perhaps it had not already been placed?)and that I should call him back after I confirmed that the other merchant was advertising falsely. "
"Rip-off, bate and switch, rude, deceptive, inarticulate, uninformed, fraudulent liars. The problems started out like a lot of the other bad reviews indicate; with an email request to contact them about my order. Then Bob (ext 208) tried to tell me that there were two types of TV’s and that I had ordered a European (PAL standard) Samsung TV instead of an American (NTSC) TV (Liar – their site under the features TAB lists an NTSC tuner on this product!) and if I wanted one that would work in America I would have to pay more. I guess Bob doesn’t know about the SECAM standard used in the old Soviet block countries and part of central Africa. He told me that it was common practice on the internet to indicate a NTSC TV by displaying an American flag next to it (Liar). In all my research I never saw that practice used. He argued with me for 8 minutes about how the other reviews accusing them of bate and switch or worse tactics were wrong and written by competitors. Unfortunately I had not read them until after I ordered the TV. Then he argued with me more about the price and continued to talk over me while I was canceling my order. He finally said he was putting me on hold for two minutes so I could “cool off”. I immediately called my credit card company and they graciously agreed to put a note in my record that I would be disputing all charges from USAPHOTONATION.COM. I called Boob back but could only get the recording inviting me to leave a message. I did, again stating that I was canceling my order and that the credit card company was expecting a dispute of any charges including restocking charges (26/12/2005). According to their web site my order is “on hold”; it can stay on hold another 52* years for all I care. If this review (my first) can save one person from going through this Barbara Streisand it will have been worth the effort. I read in one review that there is a lawyer who is planning on suing them; I would gladly join a class action suit!
May 10,000 worms invade their computers and reformat all of their data storage devices!
*52 years is how long the National Television System(s) Committee standards have been in effect.

"never sent item. refused to sell at advertised price and cancelled."
"Incredible! Why the hell I didn't check this store's ratings here before I ordered a camera from them I'll never know. What a bunch of thugs.
I ordered a Canon DC20 camcorder from them. Cheapest price I could find. The very next day some guy calls. He tells me I ordered "the wrong model". I'm thinking to myself, what the heck is he talking about, I knew what camera I wanted and that is what I ordered on their site.
He then tells me that the camera I ordered does not come with the USA warranty, that it is a Japan model. I immediately responded with "cancel my order". He kept right on talking and I kept repeating "cancel my order". He finally told me to "SHUT UP!"
I hung up and made immediate contact with my credit card company. The goon called back and asked why I hung up. Yeah, why did I hang up? You just told me to shut up, that's why you goon.
Go to their web site and look for the "ShopCart" advertisement that gives this company five stars. Click on the link and read the posts. You won't believe it. I have to believe there may be an action that can be filed against "ShopCart" and USAphotonation. I was misled by what looks like phoney ratings.
Don't give them high marks for pricing - it's all a fraud. They don't sell this stuff at that price, they call people and high pressure them to buy expensive add-ons and warranties.
Why let these guys continue in this scam they have running? They are located in New York. Go to the site below and file an on-line complaint form! Let's work together to stop these scams!

"This company lied to my son when I wanted to cancel my order (he was paying for my Christmas Present). They told him it had already shipped but refused to give a tracking number. When the package was delivered, the shippment tracking revealed that the package shipped 24 hours after his conversation with them. Any returns to the company after shippment cost the buyer 22% of the purchase price plus the shipping cost. These guys practice bait and switch and are definately fraudulent in their business practices. Don't buy anything from them!"
"The Minolta Dimage camera I ordered was listed on their web page at 299.00 - I ordered a filter adapter and 3 piece filter set and the total cost of the camera came to 553.98 - A very misleading advertisement, and the web site shows no address. To track your order, you have log in or register, which can't be done since you need a password to log in, And the website offers no way to register. I will never do buisness with this company again. and would reccomend that no one else use them either."
"I found dealing with USAPhotoNation.com a sad experience. I am sold a camera advertised online and assured 3-5 day shipping by salesman. A week later: It takes me 20 minutes of calling and being hung up on to finally gain the truth on 12-07 that the camera is on backorder! Then to top it off, Jamie tries to sell me a "kit" for $40 extra to assure my camera is in stock. This tactic is called "bait and switch". It sucks to deal with such pressure sales bs for a $300+ order. The initial salesman on 12-05 tries to sell me a 1Gig card for $347! discounted to $147 because of a "package deal" -- oh gimme a break. This company overcharges on shipping compared to other New York dealers by over 200% compared to B&H's 3-5 day UPS for $10 vs their bs $25. This sucks folks!
So I go to B&H, they are so courteous and helpful that I order a REAL camera in STOCK, (no backorder crap), no USAPhotoNation.com "white box" / "blue box" bs (nice try guys) folks -- just the real deal and I get a 1 Gig card from them for $70 versus USAPhotoNation.com bs $147 charge. So these schmucks lost my $334 and the $374 they tried to leverage out of me and instead B&H gets my money -- NOT USAPhotoNation.com! And, guess what? B&H IMMEDIATELY confirmed my order and got my e-mail correct the first time. Amazing aren't they! AVOID USAPhotoNation.com!
So far I am watching USAPhotoNation.com to see if they illegally charge my card after cancelling my order. I trust USAPhotoNation.com will soon be contacted by the Attorney General(s) of several states and suffer a class-action suit for the crap they pull on unsuspecting customers!"
"Worst service ever. Very unprofessional. A representative from the site repeatedly called my house for approximately three hours last October, tormenting and teasing my small children while I was not home. The man verbally disclosed my password I used for site log-in in an answering machine message when my kids did not pick up, the password I happen to also use for my e-mail and bank account. Looked up my address on Google Maps to get an arial view of my house in Florida, and made comments about my home, frightening my kids. Threatened to have lewd e-mails sent to my inbox if I didn't "stop yelling at him" for having the nerve to talk to my children. Needless to say, I wound up cancelling my order. I'll never forgive these jerks. Do not buy from them, your personal information is NOT secure. Dreadful experience to say the least."
"BAIT & SWITCH
I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 3 camera from USA Photo Nation. The following day "Kenny" was calling me to ask if I *knew* I was only buying the camera body, nothing else. To get the full working camera, I would need to pay $130(?) more! I said no.
He asked gruffly, if I wanted the camera. I said yes, but not for the extra money.
Yes or no, he demanded. I told him I needed time to see where on his site it said that the price was only for the camera body.
Did I want the camera or what, he harassed. Not until I investigate.
Do you want it or do you want to cancel! I want more time to investigate. Okay, we'll cancel the order. He hung up.
The results of my investigation were that USA Photo Nation was indeed offering the camera as it comes from the factory in operational order with battery, memory card etc, for the low price. They were not selling a demo. I called 'Kenny' back, who knew of my order but denied speaking previously to me.
I explained that I wanted the Coolpix Camera package at the website price. He basically said I was crazy to think their low price was for the complete camera; didn't I see how much it cost on other sites?
I demanded he sell me the camera at the web price. I told him that I if he didn't sell me the camera I would find the website that said his company was ***** and give USAPhotoNation a bad rating. He quickly pleaded, no... don't do that. He said he'd get back to me.
Of course he hasn't!
I have tried three times to contact USAPhotoNation via email by replying to the cancellation order.
Upon further review tonight, I read that USAPhotoNation is suspected of being one of many names/websites a disreputable company is using. see: http://www.pricerunner.com/retailer/21388/reviews
Buyer beware!!!!!!!

"I should have paid attendion to the reviews. It was only after I was ripped off that I went looking to see if anyone else was scammed by their bait and switch tactics. After i looked at my invoice on their website and saw that it was $50.00 over what I was quoted on the phone, I tried to cancel the order. No luck, I even called my credit card to see If I could stop the transaction. They could not assist either.
Received package - I did not recieve all of the products I ordered. I was then told that the price I paid did not include the missing items, only the items that were shipped. What a bunch of bull. I argued with the rep, and he said that he would send the missing items free of charge. Even though I didn't pay for them. Sounds like they knew they messed up, doesn't it?"
"Scam seller! Call back required, tries to sell additional items and warranty, THEN tells me it is unavailable and back ordered when the website said it was in stock. Nothing but a hassle! Cancelled order."
"My experience was pretty bad. Like everyone else, I got the email saking to call. They told me they had accessories for fifteen ninety five plus shipping for a total of sixteen sixty nine. I agreed, thinking what's 16.69? Well, I was charged $1669.94. How's that for outrageous!!! I called them, cancelled the order and refused the package when it got here. However, they refused the package when it was sent back to them.
My credit card company told me to give them 30 days to fix the charge. I have copies of all correspondence, including faxes, and I have notes and witnesses of all conversations (I put them on speaker). I have obtained the address of their lawyer:
SPIEGEL & UTRERA, P.A., P.C.
45 JOHN ST. SUITE 711
NEW YORK, NEW YORK, 10038
I'll wait for 30 days and then will review my options."
"This company is a bait and switch ripoff artist. After ordering the Nikon D50 from USAPhotoNation.com, I received an email saying I need to call them (Kenny) regarding the order. When I called, Kenny tried to sell me batteries and memory cards, which I do not need more of. Then he said this camera is a "gray market" model that does not include the manual, cable, etc., (and I imagine no warranty) but that I could order the full USA model for $90 more. When I threatened to call the Better Business Bureau, he cancelled the order. Very rude! False advertising! Stay away from USAPhotoNation.com."
"SCAM!!!! Do not buy from this outfit.
I found a Panasonic 50" Plasma TV from usaphotonation.com through everyprice.com. All of their reviews on that site looked great. Their price was lower than I could find on any other site. I went ahead and ordered the Panasonic th50phd8uk for $2700 plus shipping.
The next day a person from usaphotnation.com called me. He wanted the code from my credit card. He asked me if I wanted the North American package. When I said I did not know what that was, he talked me through looking that up on their web site. That is when I found out that the TV did not come with the factory warranty, remote, cables, or any other accessories. When I asked what that would cost, I found the price was $400 more.
He said he would have to send me a credit card authorization form to sign. I said go ahead and send it and I would look at it, thinking this would give me time to check out this company. It didn't take long to find out that this was a scam company. I replied to their e-mail credit card authorization form with a statement to cancel the order. I thought this was the end of it since I had not authorized the additional charges and had told them to cancel the order.
This morning, just to be sure I looked up the order on the web site. It showed the status as in shipping and the total cost of $3299.99 I was furious. I called them. The first guy I talked to said the only way to cancel an order was through a phone call and denied that they ever got the e-mail. He stated that the unit was back orderd and since it had been ordered I would have to sign their cancellation form. On this form was a statement: to return or cancell an order you agree to our return and or cancellation guidelines. While I had him on the line I looked up their guidelines. It stated that if the order was cancelled after the order was charged or shipped. there would be a 7% charge plus the shipping. I refused to sign unless that statment was changed. At that point he put another woman on the line. Funny, she now said the order had been shipped by sekworldwide.com. So in fifteen minutes this had went from backorder to shipped. This I'm sure, was to insure they not only would get the 7% but also the shipping charge. I told her I would accept nothing less than to have the entire amount credited back to my credit card. Said she didn't care if I did dispute it with the credit card company, and at this point she hung up on me.
I called AMEX and put in a dispute of this charge. AMEX said it would take 6 to eight weeks to resolve but, whatever I did not to accept it when it did arrive.

"My experience with this company was terrible! I tried to buy a canon A610 digital camera. Four days later they called me trying to sell me extras like memory card, batteries, and a warranty. When I asked doesn't it already come with a one year warranty, I was told they were selling me the "japanese camera" that came with no cables instructions and the menus were in japanese. I had to pay extra to upgrade to a camera made for sale in the US."
