"I did a LOT of research prior to placing my order with Vigor. In the end, they provided the configuration I wanted for several hundred less than the next-best choice, another firm who is very highly rated on this site. I had eliminated companies like Cyberpower owing to their terrible reputations here. Vigor also sports a AA rating from the BBB, which is quite significant.

My experience is much like others described here. I emailed to ask about the build I wanted, in terms of turnaround time, and received a prompt reply. After placing my order, Daisy phoned to confirm, and within hours I had my customer number and invoice number. The next day, their website had status info on my rig, and it was put together and in QC in less than a week. It shipped on the day estimated and arrived on the day they said it would.

The only problem was that apparently after QC was done, the builders reset the BIOS to its default settings. I had ordered a RAID 0 array of two HD's, and because of this the machine would not post, saying "Missing operating system". It took me about half an hour to figure out what the problem was, and once I restored the HD's as being RAID instead of IDE, it booted up immediately. The only other nit I would pick is that the documentation is very scant; they clearly expect their buyers to be experienced nerds like me. Novices might be daunted.

I ordered my rig with Vista 64 bit, and they had already set up my user account with my name-- a nice touch. The install is blissfully free of bloatware. It runs blazingly fast-- 3DMark of nearly 16,000 without taking any steps to optimize. I put the HD from my old machine into a free drive bay, and it was immediately recognized by the BIOS and Vista-- literally plug and play.

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and have already recommended Vigor to a couple of colleagues who are in the market for a new desktop machine. I have nothing but the highest regard for the entire experience.

"Another satisfied customer here. I'm not going to go into my detail about how excellent Vigor Gaming is. I ordered my PC and received it at my door about 3 weeks later. It took them two weeks to build and test and 1 week to have it shipped UPS ground. The computer came exactly as described and fired up with no issue. After going into the registry and doing some tweaks to speed up Windows, I noticed that the Vigor technicians had already made some great tweaks to my computer to make it faster. I downloaded the latest video drivers and when I went to install I realized that Vigor had already installed the latest drivers for me. Awesome stuff! So if you're looking to get an awesome gaming rig and you came across Vigor, don't look elsewhere. Their prices are VERY competitive and their customer service is awesome. I havn't had to use tech support yet, but I have no doubts that they are great. You might have to wait longer for your PC than you would with other companies, but who cares. It's easy to see where that extra time went. It went into building, testing, and tweaking a kick ass computer. Thanks VIGOR!"

"(Initial Review) Like many others, I decided to do quite a bit of research before making a grand purchase like a new computer. Having never built a desktop from scratch, I really wanted to go through a company with a warranty and came across Vigor Gaming. Although I saw that some of the more smaller vendors (Cyberpower, Ibuypower, etc) had some lower prices, the mixed reviews and reputations of these companies left me hesitant. I found Vigor Gaming not only had an excellent reputation, but they also had a very impressive AA rating with the Better Business Bureau.

I placed the order on July 11th, 2008 and although I hadn't received it yet, I can already attest to the excellent customer service. When sending an E-mail to inquire about the model selected, I received a quick and helpful response from their technician, Chuck, inviting further questions. When I made the order, I received a call on the next business day mentioning that the graphics card selected required a larger power supply (something I overlooked). Not only was the receptionist and technician I spoke with extremely patient with my indecision, but were more than willing to help me figure out differences in cost giving honest advice about the performance differences. I NEVER experienced that type of consolation with any of the other vendors I purchased computers from (try calling Dell with this type of question!). So far, their customer service has been admirable and I eagerly anticipate receiving my new system!

----

(FOLLOW-UP) I have just received the computer yesterday on the 29th, the date in which Vigor Gaming stated I would receive my system. After a long day of waiting for UPS, a large white box had finally come to the door! The first thing noticed upon opening the box was the clean organization and lack of clutter. The computer itself was heavily wrapped in a very thick layer of bubble wrap for protection and nestled to the side was a small box that held all the drivers, instruction booklets, additional adapters/screws and a plastic folder with a small FAQ inside (the same as found on the website). After carefully slicing through the bubble wrap, I beheld the system itself, which was very impressive. The clear case revealed a neatly assembled system, also free of clutter and drawing some attention from others.

After plugging in everything, I proceeded to turn it on only to have it turn off than on again. I'm not sure if that is normal; the computer proceeded to start up afterwards so it doesn't seem to inhibit the functioning of the system. Next is an important reminder: DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS. Although Vigor Gaming packages their systems well, shipping through UPS doesn't exactly give me much comfort. Lo and behold, the hard drive had a disconnected wire causing the computer to prompt me for a boot device. After plugging this back in, the computer came to life quickly, featuring the sleek Vigor template they provide.

----

(February 2009) After having the computer for a bit over six months, I remain extremely happy with my system. Perhaps the greatest asset has been that it's amazingly stable (knock on wood). I still haven't experienced a single crash or system freeze, though I have been careful with what I download and/or install. The CD-ROM drive is a bit noisy (but works fine) and the sound seems a little quieter on this system than others I've had, but with speakers it's not problematic. Overall, I still highly recommend Vigor Gaming and plan on being a repeat customer!

"I placed my order after doing intensive research on all custom gaming pc builders. Vigor gaming by far has the best reviews and offer the most rock bottom prices. I recieved my pc with one problem which ended up being a lose wire which is understandable...ups duh. Other than that, this pc is perfecto mucho bueno. Congrats and thank you vigor. I called with ?'s during ordering and have to say they are on the ball with customer service. tech support is awesome... blows dell and gateway out of the water... what? multi billion dollar companies being out done by the little people, right on vigor. Anyways, I will recommend vigor to anyone. Many thanks vigor and I will close with a standing ovation. "

"I ordered the Artorius laptop, after researching and reading up on different companies. I happened to find Vigor Gaming, checked out their site, and wow, amazing prices compared to almost any other custom computer company. I have yet to receive the laptop, as it was ordered 2 days ago, but thus far, I am extremely pleased with how everything has been handled. They have unbelievable customer service, and respond to questions remarkably fast. My only gripe so far has been that they can't accept international credit cards (had to do a wire transfer). Will update when I get the laptop.

UPDATE 07-30-08
Got the laptop, amazingly well packed, amazing laptop in general. Quite possible the most satisfying transaction i have ever made. 5/5 for sure

"I found Vigor Gaming on-line quite by accident. I was shopping around for a custom-built PC since I was tired of building my own and really didn't have the time.

I did several different configuration comparisons with other on-line retailers and Vigor always came in with the lowest prices while offering the best parts. Their on-line ordering system was very easy to use but I would say that their “helpful” information about each item is not very helpful and sometimes sounded dated. I did contact Chuck at Vigor Tech support with several E-mails about a configuration that I was considering. He always promptly replied and gave me his straightforward answers to my questions.

On 9 June 2008, I decided to actually place an order. I built my configuration and submitted it with credit card info that evening. About 2 hours later, I got a call from Vigor sales confirming my order. That was a nice touch. Unfortunately, that was about the last time Vigor sales called me without any prompting! Two days later I noticed my credit card had been charged. I didn't see anything on their web site that indicated they would charge your card immediately. I sent sales an E-mail asking about this and a day later I got a reply that this was their policy.

By 16 June, a week after my order was placed, I still hadn't received any confirmation that Vigor was even working on my new PC. I sent an E-mail to sales but never got a reply. On about 18 June I sent an E-mail to Chuck and asked if he could find out the status of my purchase. I couldn't even check the status on-line because I still hadn't received my Customer number 8 business days into this process. The next day, I finally got an E-mail from Vigor sales with a customer number that said my PC should be ready for shipping in 5-10 working days. I checked my on-line order status and my system had already been through parts prep and assembly and was now in Quality Control. I also had an “Estimated” shipping date of 20 June.

20 June came and went with no indication of anything happening. On 23 June I checked my on-line status and noticed the “estimated” shipping date was now 23 June (today!). I waited all day for some kind of notice that my system was actually shipping. On 24 June, I sent sales an E-mail and asked if they would update my shipping date since 23 June had already passed. I got no reply. I once again sent Chuck in tech support an E-mail. Finally, on 25 June I actually got a call from Vigor sales telling me that my system would be shipped that day. Hurray! At 8:30 PM I got a UPS shipping notice and a tracking number. My new PC would arrive on 30 June!

Well, wouldn't you know that on 30 June, my Wife had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon! So we went and did that and got back home at about 6:10 PM. The UPS delivery guy had just tried to deliver my new PC at 5:59 PM! I still wanted the system that night so I called UPS and they said I could pick it up between 8 and 9 PM. So off I go.

My new Force RECON NXE came in a 59.5 lb box! I was a little bit of an effort to get it upstairs. Packing-wise, everything was very secure. The PC case box was inside the Vigor box with a separate box of parts tucked down the side. I un-boxed my Vigor PC and is it a beauty! I immediately opened up the case and checked to see that all the parts and pieces I ordered were there and that everything was still securely plugged in. The internal wiring wasn't anything special; Vigor could do a little more here.

The next morning I prepared to start up my system for the very first time. Vigor had attached a warning note to the outside of my PC telling me that if I used a UPS, to make sure it was capable of supporting everything that I was going to hook up to it. They also gave me a phone number to call and they would assist in checking out my UPS. Well, I called the number and got a recording telling me that everyone was busy and if I left a name and phone number, they would call back. I did that and then waited. I never got a returned phone call! Fortunately, I was able to answer my own question but once again, Vigor's communications was not up to par.

I fired my Force RECON up and did it ever take off. This thing runs fantastic. I configured mine with an Intel 9450 CPU (Quad-core), 4GB of ram, ASUS Striker II mb, two GeForce 8800 GTs, and Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). So far it's a great machine. Even with that huge fan in the front, it runs very quiet. I really like all the blue lighting. I haven't found one single problem with the Operating System installation. Everything works just as advertised. My Internet and my printer were recognized immediately and didn't require any special setup. I hooked the PC up to a brand new Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP using the DVI cable and it is just magnificent!

I think Vigor Gaming has a very good product. I think their ordering process needs some work mainly with the communications back to the customer. I didn't feel real comfortable with spending $2,400 and not knowing when my purchase would be delivered. Vigor Sales didn't respond to very many of my E-mails (if any) and when they did, the information was usually late.

I think a little more effort needs to be made in their packaging. The sent a nice leather (fake) binder that has absolutely nothing in it. It would have been nice if at least an inventory sheet was included showing the parts that were ordered being checked off. That would be a good Q/C item and give your customers some sense that they got what they ordered.

Overall, I got a very good machine for a very good price. I had to wait 22 days to get this machine which is hard to do if you're a computer nut like me. That's converts to 16 business days so if anyone else is ordering that might be your guide. As of right now, I'm very satisfied with Vigor Gaming and would tell others to definitely include them when comparison shopping.

"I was very happy with my experience with Vigor Gaming. Thier website is easy to use and I was able to upgrade certain components in my PC. I decided to go with the Force Recon NXE with the Pentium Duo Core Processor. I received a call the next day from Daisy to confirm my order, answered all of my questions regarding the components. And also gave me the option to will call the computer since I was close to them. This saved on shipping costs which I thought was a very cool option. After placing the order I received a call less than 10 days later saying the computer was ready. The computer runs awesome! I saw such positive feedback from other customers in this forum with their purchases from Vigor that I gave it a go. Happy that I did. I was going to build my own rig, but I would have had to start from scratch and the pricing of the NXE with the components I wanted just could not be beat. I definately recommend Vigor!"

"When I first received my Vigor PC, it had a dead motherboard. I spent nearly an hour with their tech support trying to figure out the problem, and they were incredibly thorough and good. They arranged to have it shipped back to them, then they fixed it and sent it back to me. I now have a great and fully functional computer which does everything I wanted. It was definately worth the wait. I am extremely impressed with not only the quality of Vigor's computers, but also the quality of their services."

"When I initially surveyed their ordering system, I was pleased at the amount of description available on various items and what I should be looking for in my purchase. I am reasonably well-informed as to computer hardware, but am by no means a master, so the extra help was appreciated. The prices are actually a lot better than they seem to someone who is not versed in hardware; if you were to go to ibuypower.com and select all identical components, the system would not be much cheaper, and some of the components are actually not available from most other retailers. A lot of the cost is in a high-quality motherboard (which is very important) and high-quality cooling and ventilation.

My only complaint is that the quality check process on my order took a very long time; the ship date was delayed by about a week from their original estimate. Of course, I'd rather have a quality machine here late than a cheap one here early, so I can't fault them for that.

Overall, I'd recommend Vigor to anyone getting a gaming computer over any other retailer.

"I started out researching ibuypower and cyberpower, quickly changed my mind after reading up on them. I was about to say screw it and go with Alienware, then saw an ad for Vigor in Maximum PC. Started researching them. Began with the comments on this site, BBB Online and other forums and sites, I decided I give them a shot. (One note: Gamers are notoriously hard to please, and they have maintained a AA rating (only one catagory better) with the BBB, this alone says something extremely positive for this company).
Then I researched the components they used and was very satisfied, nothing low end or knock-off.
Customer Service:
Had a few questions, within a day or so I had both emails and phone calls to answer any questions. Only negative for their customer service is it is not 24/7. I can handle that and its not that big of an issue.
Ordering was easy. One configuration only needed minor changes for what I wanted, otherwise it was almost exactly my dream gaming system. (Force Recon NXE -Intel with Nvidia SLi)
Delivery: I was able to see where they were in the processing of building it and it arrived a day sooner than promised. There was a hole in the outer box when it arrived (even with all the fragile stickers on it, it had seen better days.) The computer was in perfect condition. Vigor had packaged it extremely well.
Computer:
One issue I have here, but it is with the case manufacturer of the El Diablo case. The whole purpose of a front/forward access panel for headphones/USB and such is that is is FORWARD, not half way back the top of the case.
That said, unpacked and booted. System works beautifully. My monitor is a year or so older than optimal, but they had two adapters included to work with standard monitors. The support box was filled with replacement parts and other needed items. Nice leather binder with warranty info and place to store system discs.
Vigor includes a copy of your operating system as standard practice, they don't charge you $49 extra for a copy of it (*cough* Alienware*cough*) nor do they take the cheap, backsliding way out most lackluster companies are doing (Only G rated way I can put how I feel about companies that give restore discs or the new trend of make your own restore disc). Another important note here: Vigor did not install any bloatware, no onlines services or other garbage. I didn't have to uninstall anything. This is was so shocking and refreshing, I'm still a bit taken aback by it.
I can not stress how impressive these last two items are.
I'm not a big Vista fan (averages 10% performance loss on most games vs. XP), but so far it has been working extremely smooth, it already had SP1 installed. A few small updates and install anti-virus (and other security apps) and this system is ready to go. Graphics are crisp clear and vibrant. With dual nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB, I would expect to no less.
The one comment I saw over and over researching them was the lack of documentation, not a big deal for most gamers/geeks. Only question I had was, this is the first system I've had with dual video cards, wasn't sure at first where to hook up the monitor (there are 4 ports between two video cards). Took 20 seconds to figure, no problems since.
Booted, activated windows, installed a few programs I use (plus a couple of games) and put it through its paces. It is quiet, I hear a fan, but its not loud. The system runs SMOOTHLY. The inside of the case has lots of room (heatsink looks like a mini-skyscraper, its slightly bigger than a softball). Everything is as described on their website and my order sheet. SLi was already configured.
One unexpected bonus: the Logitech X-240 speakers work with iPods, wasn't aware of that when purchased.

Overall:
I've had the computer 2 days now. But with the experiences I've had with Vigor, I would gladly repeat my buying experience with them. The system is beautiful, it works great. Other than my one issue with a misplaced forward access panel, the case is very nice (a bit bigger than I expected, but my fault as I didn't pay attention to the given dimensions).

Extremely positive opinion of Vigor and highly recommend them, but do your own research. Compare them with other companies. Only company I found that compared for my desires was Alienware. But Vigor didn't charge extra for things that should be included in the price.

Its not often I find a company that actually meets my expectations of what a company should have for their product and service (my expectations are not outlandish, they are pragmatic and reasonable). You could say I have the BBB on speed dial. If a company is found lacking, I will call them on it.

Vigor is in a class of its own. It is not often I can give praise for a company. Vigor not only meets, but has so far exceeded all my expectations. They have set the bar and other computer companies are just doing a limbo dance.
