"Do NOT order from them. I ordered labels in mid'Nov 07. 3 weeks later, nothing. I contacted them and they supposedly were going to ship priority on 12/6/07. it is 2.28.08 and i have yet to receive my labels - which didn't arrive the first time - nor the second. it has been 3 mos since my first order and zippo."
"In December, when we knew we were really going to move into our new address, I ordered business cards and return address labels so that I can immediately use them to let others know what our new contact information are. I went for Vista Print because of their visibility in the net.
Vista Prints free offer are free only for the items. They do, however, charge for shipping and processing. That's ok. They do have to cover some costs, so I accepted that. I ordered free business card, premium business cards (250 pieces for $3.99), return address labels (140 pieces for $3.99) for a whopping total of $7.98. Guess how much the shipping and processing fee was for the slowest service (21 days)? $10.10 - hahaha... even more than the items' total price. With that shipping fee, they actually even beat some of the ebay'ers who pad their shipping fees.
I love the Premium Business Card not because Vista Print quality was any better than others since I have no experience with others. I love them because it functions as I expected - has my name, address, phone and email contact info. Nothing special about the business cards being from Vista Print. Other reviewers have mentioned though that the $3.99 is cheap for 250 cards. If I have to factor in the shipping, that would be $8.99 for 250 cards. Is that still cheap?
The return address labels were just ok. The free ones I get from non-profit organizations actually look even better.
As for the Free Business Card? I can't say anything because I never received it! I emailed them in January but never received a response from them. I prefer emailing as I have my own record of the communication and also a lot of times, it is difficult to understand the person on the other side of the phone. By the way, Vista Print does not put their phone number in their emails so you have to go to their website to get the number - and it is down at the bottom where you have to look for it in the middle of a lot of items listed and buried in the next layer. Also, the link to Feedback on Vista Print's website does not work - that should have given me an indication that they do not really want feedback :)
I finally got to call them just now February and got a representative who stuck to his cheat sheet - "it is already 75 days since I ordered", "they only guaranty satisfaction until 60 days (why???)", he then proceeded to point me to their Satisfaction Guaranteed which shows a 30 day period for complaints. He even got to the point to ask my why I did not call earlier (instead of emailing) since a phone conversation would be automatically recorded. (As I mentioned I prefer email and also this did not rise again to the top of my todo list until know because of travels in between.) I told him that I emailed well within any of those timeframes and that I could forward my copy from the Sent Box. He would not make any allowances to that nor any moves to escalate to someone who could help me. He would not even give me the benefit of the doubt. His bottomline was that I contacted them beyond their timelines and that I should just reorder the Free Business Cards and pay for the shipping fee. What pay the overpriced shipping and processing fee again??? No way!!! There was no point in engaging this customer service rep any further since he was not doing his job in servicing me, the customer.
It is very disappointing that Vista Print which seems to have good enough quality for their price has this kind of customer service representatives (at least one) who would not do anything about this simple thing. In a very competitive business environment, customer service is a differentiator. I hope whoever runs their customer rep team understands that and retrain their team members to put down the shield and service their customer more.
Anyway, I cannot help but think that the Free one is just their bait to get you to investigate, then not ship it to you hoping that you won't mind or that you did not catch the 30-day "Satisfaction Guaranteed " thing (which I did not). I hope I am wrong but unless I experience differently that is my opinion.
So you fellow frugal guys or gals out there, Vista Print could still be an acceptable deal (it could even be a good deal if you run your business). Just take note of the lesson I learned here - that if you have a complain (like not receiving your shipment), CALL or get your email acknowledged WITHIN 30-days ...lest you get engaged in a non-value-add "customer service" conversation!"
"Vistaprint is prolific and somewhat pushy in its advertising; their offers give you a chance to save substantially off their normal prices. However, in my experience (two purchases of business cards, about 14 months ago and 1 month ago), even those discounts result in prices too high for the quality of their product.
Pros:
--Easy online design using a fairly extensive and varied set of pre-designed templates; text placement, color and style is extensively variable; template graphics cannot be changed; template colors can only be changed to other pre-defined palettes in a list of about 100. You can upload your own custom graphics.
--Their "Priority" printing/shipping normally results in faster delivery than the promised 7 days (mine took 4 days).
--Telephone customer service is quite good, once you get past the recorded messages trying to sell you more stuff.
--They DO live up to their "Guarantee of Satisfaction;" in my experience, they even refunded the shipping/processing charges without a special request on my part. They will "redo" a defective order at no additional cost.
--Actual print quality is good, with uniform colors and no obvious "jaggies". Note: this does *not* apply to alignment -- see "cons:" section below.
Cons:
--Their MANY offers emphasize "free" or "50% off" this and that; in reality, inflated prices for minor product enhancements result in final order prices that are no bargain.
--The colors that appear on the web design screen are sometimes quite different from the actual colors that appear on the printed card. You can request an online PDF "document proof", which shows the colors correctly, but that will cost you an extra $2 *each* time you request one, so experimentation with colors can get expensive!
--The alignment/registration of the design on the business card is erratic: out of 4 separate boxes of cards I ordered at different times, each came with about 1/6-1/3 of the cards wrongly trimmed -- either the design was tilted relative to the card borders, or offset so there was unwanted color intruding from the card edge.
Bottom line:
They're cheap (if you don't get any upgrades), they're helpful on the phone, but your order will likely include a number of defective cards."
"I thought I'd post a review of VistaPrint because the experience I had was altogether different that most of what I've read online about them. I was pretty worried about what to expect from VistaPrint after reading so much negative press online about them, from extra charges, to poor quality on the manufacture of business cards.
I couldn't find anyone else online, though, that gave as much control to layout of the card, along with whatever graphics I wanted to add to the base image, so I went ahead and took a chance. I ordered 250 business cards, my wife created her own business card and ordered 500 plus some post it notes.
The cards arrived the same day, several days earlier than expected. Hers looked fine, but on my cards, one of the graphics I had uploaded ended up with a border on 3 of the 4 sides, despite the fact that when I had been designing the card, there was no border at all. It didn't look *bad*, but it was kind of goofy, and definitely not what I had wanted.
I called Vistaprint to see if there was some way to fix things, and the gentleman I spoke with was amazingly helpful. After taking a look at my design in their system, he directed me to look at the proof of the order. It hadn't occurred to me that there would be a difference, but the proof shows you exactly what the card will look like. I believe you can order a proof for $1.99 when you place an order, but I didn't, so I missed the error on my order.
Here's where it gets good, as it seems like Vistaprint has taken a page from Dell's customer service woes in recent years, and has started to realize that enough bad press online can start to cut into your profit margins. The customer service rep pulled up my order, used the crop tool in their online business card design program to remove the border, put in another order for 250 more cards on the same 100 lb paper with the same priority shipping, and then gave me a credit for the amount of the order, so the remake of the cards was free for me.
I was on the phone maybe a total of 10 minutes with Vistaprint and they had addressed my problem and gotten the solution already loaded into their system. In checking the next day, the order was already finished and set to ship the next business day via DHL.
Color me impressed. I will continue to use Vistaprint for my business card needs, and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone else."
"I have ordered 3 shirts and 1 set of labels from this store and have been very pleased with the price, delivery, and quality. (The labels were for an address other than mine so that is why I didn't use the free sources on the web.) I've always used their "free" offers which mean you pay s/h, but for shirts I use their standard templates and then make gifts &/ or political statements for $4.41/shirt. It has served as a creative outlet for me and a way to make a subversive statement toward society for less than it costs for me to make my own shirt. One was a gift for a friend using a religious template making fun of his frequent use of the word antidisestablishmentarianism. It just takes creativity. They say they take up to 21 days for arrival, but mine have always come in about a week. I've had no issues yet with not getting exactly what I ordered and the prices have so far been the cheapest I've found considering I'm ordering 1 item at a time as the need arises.
I can't comment on ordering multiple items as that hasn't been my goal and I've heard that their prices are not as competitive in quantity.
After writing this I see many people complaining about being signed up for some $14.95 monthly payment plan. I can say that my first order was in the beginning of June (now 9/20) and no charges like that have appeared on my statements. (I just freaked out and spent 10 minutes reviewing statements as I'm behind in balancing my bank statements. I do know that they throw about 10 offers at your at different times through the checkout process and I think one of them may be "Click here to save $10 on this order" which then gets you signed up for one of those "money saving" memberships. Ticketmaster and many other companies offer this during checkout and I've learned to ignore them and actively click "no". Perhaps this is what the other people posting are referring to. It's my only guess as my card appears clean."
"VistaPrint is a shady company with unethical business practices. I ordered business cards from them which I paid for with a credit card, and then about a month later, unauthorized $14.95 charges began showing up on my monthly credit card statement for some "Rewards" program that apparently does not exist. I did not authorize enrollment into the bogus "Rewards" program, nor authorize my credit card to be charged $14.95 per month. When I called to have this stopped, the customer reps claimed to not know anything about the "Rewards" program. After repeated calls to VistaPrint, only to be placed on hold for extended periods of time, the charges finally ceased after several months. The customer rep at my credit card company said that they hear complaints all the time about VistaPrint and their unauthorized monthly $14.95 charges.
If you want to avoid HUGE hassles, do not do business with VistaPrint. I suspect there are many people who do not check their credit card statement closely who are being charged bogus monthly fees without their knowledge. "
"I ordered 250 matte business cards from Vista Print last year and was not satisfied. I decided to try them one more time and get the premium glossy cards. These cards were “free” with a $9.95 charge for glossy and $4.50 for slow shipping.
These cards (as well as the first order) were 1/8 inch smaller all the way around as compared to normal 2” x 3 ½” business cards. I could live with the size difference, but the print quality was just awful. The screen (little white dots) is clearly visible in the picture on the card.
These cards are cheap and you get what you pay for. I’ve bought cards from another printer (gotprint.com) and although they were $10.00 more, I would say they were 10 times better.
I ordered on the 10th and received on the 22nd and that was with “slow” service, so their turn-around time was okay. If you need a lot of cheap cards, use Vista Print. I’m a photographer and the picture on the card is an example of my work. The cards from Vista are unacceptable. I will stick with Gotprint.com from now on.
"
"Do not order from this company. They advertised one price, decided the price was too low, then canceled my order. They never told me they canceled the order though, or refunded my money."
"Aloha let me first say that I didn't read the ratings on here before ordering my business cards! Had I checked before hand I more than likely would have not ordered from Vistaprint.
With that being said I ordered 1,000 premium business cards with a couple tiny dollar amount items. I ordered on the 13th and it said I would receive my order within 7 days. I got it in 3 days! They are wonderful cards and I have absolutely no complaints about the service they offer.
The price doesn't compare to anyone else!
"
"They are con artists. Do not, DO NOT give them your credit card number. They enroll you in a membership program and don't send you an email that they did that. I asked what the name of the membership company was, and sherri dena said "I don't know". Then I talked to the super, Jason, and he said "I don't know" and that I will get an email in 28 days about the membership program I joined for 14.95 a month. After some rants and raves, he suddenly knew the company and phone number. The membership company, by the way, is VISTAPRINT REWARDS. They are con artists. "
"The resellerratings.com policy is that you may not work for the company being reviewed. I do not work for Vista Print nor any company review on this site. I do, however, work for a retail printer (ie. Xerographic, digital printing, ect) who out sources a lot of high volume full color printing to various offset printers. We have recently been using Vista as an alternative to the local guys. After reading some of the reviews on this site I felt compelled to share my experience with vista. I have sent probably about 50 - 60 jobs to Vista with varying results. No other vendor I have dealt with can touch Vista in terms of full color pricing. That said, Vista is NOT the highest quality offset press I have ever dealt with but they are not bad either. I think a lot of people who are online trying to get business cards free probably aren’t corporations with specific pantone colors needing to be matched perfectly. Vista business cards (the item I send to them most) are not standard size (ie 3.5" x 2") They are very close but come in at 3.43" x 1.93". To some people this descreptency is unacceptable, to others they hardly care. To some people price is no object concerning company image, to others they simply ask for the cheapest option carried. When submitting a job make sure upload high quality files. If you do not have access to graphic design tools that use vector art (ie adobe illustrator or even Microsoft publisher) then use Vista's design engine. If you are unfamiliar, vector art is images that are made up of lines instead of pixels. In Microsoft word if you zoom in until a letter is the size of the screen you see that the letter is solid and not pixilated. That is what vector art is. The only aspect of you file that should be rastorized (ie made of pixels) is photo's and completed graphics. I have read at least one bad review on this site that mentions that the writer is much happier with his new printer and graphic designer. A good design makes all the difference in the world. I have seen very high quality looking images come out of Vista and I have seen complete crap. Because I send so much work to vista I feel like I may have more pull with their customer service but when there are problems (and there have been) they have been quick to fix them. Vista is based out of Canada so delivery is affected accordingly. They are not for everyone but in the time I have used them their quality has improved a lot. Make sure to follow their specifications. Make sure that if the color on your product goes to the edge of the sheet that you understand what bleeds are. (google full bleed printing if you need an explanation) If I had a company and needed full color printing I would definitely give vista a try. Like I said you can't beat the price. For some things the quality is outstanding and for others it is sub par. Sometimes it’s the uploaded files quality and other times I find no rhyme or reason to quality problems. I've had a ton of problems with blues with a lot of magenta coming out purple even though on ever other cmyk printer in the world it comes out reflex blue. If your particular design works with their presses you've struck gold. If not then spend the extra cash on a high quality offset printer that is willing to color match. I have had no billing issues with vista (ie false charges) nor have I had problems with their staff. I do feel like I have more printing knowledge than some of their customer service people which may explain why some people feel like Vista is not a good company. If I didn't already understand offset printing and design I would probably be frustrated with the telephone customer service. I have found Vista's online references to be quite helpful in producing quality work for my customers. These online guides were obviously not written by their customer service people.
On the hidden charge issue. After the first few orders I have found that vista will charge 4.95 for uploading ANY art. That is anything not already on their site. This is a one time charge and does not apply to future orders. They also charge 14.95 for 7 day shipping. (Means you get your job 7 business days after you order it) They have cheaper solutions but that means waiting 14 or 21 days. Expect the price of any job to be $20 more than the site says if you want a decent turn around time. Even with those charges their prices are still cheaper than anyone else.
Hope my experience helps.

"Free is not free with vistaprint.
I got an offer from vistaprint for free business cards, and decided to take them up on the offer. Each time I tried to get the free cards, the website would always charge me full price at checkout. I tried a few times, clearing my web cache between times, and eventually figured out which options to choose to get the free cards.
This is the fundamental problem with their free offers: Pressing the link to get the free product takes you to pages that have lots of non-free possibilities for you to choose from, and they don't tell you which possibilities and options are free versus not. Only after you have designed your text and layout are you told that it's not free, at which point I'm sure most people just groan and place the order.
I did finally figure it out but it took a few tries to get my free business cards.
I just got an offer from them for some free postcards and figured I'd give it a try. I found the same problems: Only after designing my cards did I find out they are full price not free, even though I designed them starting from the free offer page.
This time I noticed that the fine print for their free offer states "photo/logo uploads not included", and noticed that right next to the "Free" logo is a link for "upload complete design". Having a link for a paid service right next to the "Free" logo just ain't right. And to top it off, when I followed that link I ended with two separate charges of $4.99 for "Uploaded logo/photo/design" even though I only uploaded one design. And my "free" cards also required $5.25 for postage.
I'm done with vistaprint free offers.

"My wife used my credit card to purchase business cards from this company. She received the order fine, however, I did not notice that my card was billed monthly by a company called Vista Print Rewards for an additional 4 months at $14.95 per month. My wife did not sign up for any discount or special offer. I have not received any correspondence or service from this company. There have been many consumer complaints regarding Vistaprint and it's website affiliates. By sharing your credit card information they are violating the law. I am currently working on obtaining a refund for these fraudulent charges. I have made many online purchases and this is the first time that I've been a victim of something as underhanded as this. Do not order from Vistaprint using a credit card, debit card, or check."
"I was one of the lucky ones who checks my credit card every day, so I was lucky enough to catch the WLI SHOPPERDISCOUNT temp authorization. I called the phone number listed on my credit card to cancel some "membership" that VISTAPRINT automatically signed me up for. I called VISTAPRINT directly and talked to someone with a Jamaican accent.
I told him that it is against the law for a company to pass on credit information to a third party and threatened to have my lawyer look into this. He made me hold, he came back and told me that the credit card charge was not associated with VISTAPRINT, I told him that the people from Visa said otherwise - that they've been getting this problem quite frequently and the easiest way to get out of it is to cancel your membership with SHOPPERDISCOUNT, which I did - but I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.
This is a scam company, they're business cards are incredibly cheap, but I have yet to see mine. Sometimes they're on time, sometimes not - the first time I ordered it was ok.
AVOID - if possible.

"Ok, here's one for the record books...
I ordered business cards from Vista Print 2.5 years ago.
I didn't realize they signed me up for some revolving charge on some buying club Business Pass~ www.Deal pass.com
So far I've been charged $351.50 (Had a lot charged on the card & obviously never truly looked at the smaller charges)
(Business Pass says it will credit back but we shall see, not a good track record on the web)
THOUSANDS of customers have similar complaints, mine went on too long because I did not look at my charge bill closely enough.
I am just an honest person who ordered $40.00 of business cards and got swindled out of an extra $351.50. They are not helpful or polite on the phone. At least as soon as you speak about this issue. Nothing but common crooks!"
