"Attempted to purchase Canon Dig Rebel XT body. Price was good, reviews seemed reasonable enough to take a chance. Ordered online, promptly got a "to help us prevent fraud, please confirm order by phone" email. Did so. Was expecting a hard sell on accessories, given that this is a NY camera shop. Surprisingly, no hard (or soft) sell received. Was told everything looked ok, camera would ship "in a day or two". Credit card is promptly charged.
Fast forward 3 weeks. No camera, no shipping notification, no tracking number, charge is still sitting there on my CC. Emailed company, asked "what's up with this order". Told: order is still in processing. Email address is not valid (it's not). Billing information is incomplete. (it's not). Asked to call again to provide more details.
Cancelled order, asked for refund on CC. Am still waiting on the refund. May have to start process of contesting charges on CC soon."
"I recently order the Rebel XT w/ 17-85 lens kit. I priced around at several online retailers such as Radioactivedeals and USAphotonation only to get the runaround or be told to they were selling stripped down kits (body and lens only) or that they were selling gray market versions.
I then went back to Willoughby's (I purchased a Kodak digital from them in April) to check their price. Their price was very competitive after including shipping (cheaper than the others that had US warranties).
I ordered the camera and it was a hassle free pleasant experience (which included free shipping). On top of having a nice ordering experience, the shipping was 3-day express.
No more searching prices online for me. I had the runaround from websites that advertised lower prices."

"I ordered a camera on 09/23/2005 at a very good price. I emailed and asked if it was a price mistake and if so to please cancel my order. Later that day Willoughbys sent me an email (not a reply to my emails) stating the camera was oversold and they did not know when they would get more in. I called them today 9/25 and asked if the camera was in stock and they said yes it was. I told the sales person what happened and that Willoughbys did not reply to my emails. He told me that it was the search engines fault because it showed the wrong price and was not a willoughbys site problem. I told him that when I ordered it it showed up at the low price. He repeated it was not their fault.
I asked him to cancel my order as I am fairly confident that willoughbys would not sell it to me for the price since it was evidently a price mistake. He repeated that it was the search engines fault not theirs. How can it be the search engines fault when their site listed it at the price I had ordered it for?
Instead of telling me that it was a price mistake they claimed to have oversold it and when I called they said it is in stock. They seem not to be trustworthy. IMO willoughbys should simply stick with the truth rather than to make up a story to try to make themselves look better. I will not order from them in the future as willoughbys was not honest with me and they did not reply to emails.
Even though I emailed them and asked them to simply cancel my order if it was a price mistake I still had to call to try to cancel my order. My order still shows up exactly as it did immediately after I ordered when I track my order on their website. I will not be surprised if I have to call back numerous times just to cancel my order. Looks like I might have to call my bank and request a replacement of my credit card so I do not get any surprises down the road. Willoughbys does not seem to be very helpful when a problem occurs. There are many places that sell products. The only things that really matter are the price they charge, how fast they ship and the support they give.
Willoughbys has definately disappointed me.
If you cannot get support before you buy how can you expect any support after they have your money?

"I am VERY happy with my purchase from Willoughby's. I ordered the Panasonic DVX100A on Wendsday the 27th and they shipped it out on the 28th. I tried to pick it up when it arrived at the local FEDEX. They wouldn't release it unless Willoughby's called them and authorized me to pick it up. I called Willoughby's and explained. The person I talked to said he would call FEDEX and authorize me to pick it up. I hung up wondering how long he would take to call FEDEX (I wanted my camera BADLY). Five minutes later the guy from Willoughby's called and told me I could pick up the camera in 15 minutes. GREAT GREAT customer service."
"I purchased a Monica Minolta DiMage A200 from Willoughby's on Tuesday Morning at 9:30 AM, got the expected call to confirm around 11:00 AM. It was a polite soft sale for accessories. I told him I already had compact flash and batteries were much cheaper elseware. He said thankyou for your order and that was the end of conversation. Thursday at lunch my camera was delivered.

Ordered a Canon EOS D20 on line on July 15, 2005. Got online confirmation and receipt of the order and email confirmation as well. The only thing I was asked to do in the email is to call the company to confirm my order to prevent fraud. Called store on July 17 and talked to a sale person – “SAM”. He confirmed my order and started to sell me accessories and warranty. After I rejected the recommendation, Sam told me the item would be shipped on Monday. Today, July 18,2005, I received an email from this company telling me that the item I ordered is oversold and the waiting time is unknown...
Strongly recommend any shoppers NOT to do any business with this type of company.

Recieved an email that evening containing the tracking number for my package. Package was shipped Fex overnight. Avvived 5 hours early on tuesday.
