"I purchased (2) i730 cell phones on wirefly website offering a total of $300. in rebates with 2 yr. plan. Rebates have been denied for numerous reasons since this past summer. Now, as of December 2004, they deny the rebates cause they now say I don't have a 2 yr. plan but a 1 yr. plan. I verified with nextel that I've had the 2yr. plan since joining last March. "Inphonics" who apparently handles the rebates doesn't care what nextel says or what paperwork I have. I have filed with the BBB and have retained an attorney."
"This place sucks. I ordered two phones on December 2, 2004. They took the money out on December 6. Yet they did not acknowledge the money until December 16. Then on December 22, I paid $49.99 to get my phones activated and sent to me within one day (they were suipposed to be xmas presents). Finally after calling NUMEROUS times. I get a message saying that I asked for the phones to be cancelled and I would get a refund in 7 to 10 days. Well I was MAD as Heck. I got a hold of someone and said I did not cancel, and they said, No, liberty says they don't have coverage in your area! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? They have my $100 for 25 DAYS before they say, oh we don't have coverage and you have to wait another 7 to 10 days for a return!!!And I have an email with them telling me that I was APPROVED by a local service provider. THEY ARE LIARS!! and now I just pray i get my money back!!!"
"BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! The company sends emails containing erroneous shipping information. Further, their customer service personnel do not have a clue and appear to be reading from a written scrip. I would never order from this company or any of its many aliases again."
"I originally hesitated to go with this company based on the reviews at this website but when I went to Buy.com (which had the phone at the second lowest price I could find) they used Wirefly's parent company (inPhonic) to sell cellular phones. Knowing this, I chose to go back to wirefly, get the phones for free and take my chances despite poor reviews.
I chose to do this transaction over the telephone rather than the internet partially because of the poor reviews but mostly because I wanted it clear that I wanted to keep my current cell number. The call went without a hitch, the rep was curteous and efficient. I was uncomfortable with the fact that I was initially going to pay more for the phones (2) but they would wind up being free (14 weeks later...ugh!). I was told how to track my order which was supposed to update me periodically throughout the process: it did at first but then I had to go the the website to track. Also, no FedEx tracking # was given to me.
The phones arrived a day earlier than expected complete with rebate forms and all. All went well until I noticed that they were already assigned new cell numbers. No problem, the rep told me to call Verizon when they arrived and they would port the numbers for me....they couldn't.
I called Wirefly's customer service (again friendly and courteous) and they arrange for a postage paid return!! (They didn't provide enough insurance so I did add to that amount out of my own pocket). I shipped it, got a notice today that they recieved it and then credit back to my account for the full amount arrived a few minutes later.
I had very minor troubles with this company. My only caution is to be prepared to pay $150 per phone to keep your old number. They apologized for the misunderstanding but told me that how they make their money is my "selling" new numbers (they get $150 per newly activated #) they will gladly port your number for the $150, I just chose not to complicate my transaction any further and sent them back.
ONE FURTHER WORD OF CAUTION: make sure you do not break the phone's inner box seal until you are sure you are ready to keep it. Wirefly prints cleard and largely on the seal basically 'you open it, it's yours'. I did not break my seals.
With these problems in mind, I would certainly deal with them again if the deal they had on the phone was cheaper (including the $150 fee).
THEY WERE NO PROBLEM TO GET IN TOUCH WITH REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU READ IN THESE OTHER POSTS, I CALLED 3 TIMES WITH MINIMAL HOLD TIMES!!"
"what people say are true!! This place sucks!! I ordered a samsung e315 from wirefly.com on Nov. 16th 2004 and did not receive it til Nov 30th, 2004 and that was after 2 phone calls to the company threatening to cancel my order. In addition, my previous service with at&t was canceled even before i received the new phone which left me without service for 5 days! On top of that the phone which i was under the impression that it was going to be new - was actually used!! It still contained the previous owner's name (part of the greeting message) and his pictures! How gross! and the phone was scratched up in the front. The car charger that was included was not an actual samsung charger and even though it fit and worked, after 2 minutes of use started to overheat and gave a horrible burning smell. The rebates are only valid after 150 days of service but i won't be surprised if they are invalid. About the guy who suggested that everybody else's woes were due to bad credit- that's not true because i know i don't have bad credit. I probably ended up overpaying b/c i'm sure in the end i won't receive any rebates. Needless to say i am very dissatisfied with wirefly and will never buy another phone over the internet regardless how much i think i'll be saving. Pay more now so you don't regret later! "
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE OR ITS AFFILIATION 'INPHONIC.COM' or 'POINTWIRELESS.COM'!!! I wonder how many names they use or keep changing once they get bad review. This clearly shows, once they are off as a bad merchant, they come up with another name.
They show the best deals on the internet to attract you offering various types of mail-in rebates that never arrive or are expired or invalid. You cannot speak to a live person to discuss your problem. All you can do is e-mail but DON'T expect any response back.
I purchased a T610 from this website. Apparently they had the best deal on the internet. The only mistake I did was that I did not read its reviews. The website is superbly built and the ordering process is so easy that you will easily fall into the trap. The fun begins after an order is placed. You might receive your order on time as I did but you will not get it complete. The mail-in rebates that they would have advertised will be missing. I was supposed to get two $100 mail-in rebates one of them didn't come with the package as their order confirmation e-mail had stated. The second one cannot be redeemed until 6 months!!! So, I start looking for their customer service number but soon realize that you cannot contact them by phone. So, I e-mail them. They claim to respond back in 2 business days. Well, I have sent them 3 e-mails without any response so far. Their website has a provision to download the rebate form BUT the first time I saw that form, it was expired. I checked after couple days, it was incorrect. And so the time goes by till you are beyond your 14 day trial period. If you return your phone after that, not only the cellphone provider charges you $200 early termination fee but they will charge you an equipment discount fee of $150 even though you never even got back $100 you were supposed to. So, I'm stuck with this order. I still have 2 days before I can return this phone but I might keep the phone as I like it and the fear of losing my current number. And now I'm starting out to write reviews on every possible website to help other customers make a decision before buying from them. I wish I had referred to Epinions or this website before buying from them.

"I placed an order for a phone with a $100 rebate. I received the phone which is good. I sent in the rebate. Now, they finally reply back saying that the order number I placed on the rebate form is not valid. I know it's valid because I made a copy of the rebate form before I sent it in AND it matches exactly what's on my receipt. What a bunch of crooks!! That will definitely be the last time I ever do business with them."
"I placed an order with Wirefly.com last week for a Motorola V505. I was admittedly a bit hesitant given all the negative feedback I had read on this and other sites in regards to this company.
As it turns out my worries were for naught, this ended up being a quite pleasant experience, with my order being received three days after shipping.
I received this phone for free plus a $50.00 rebate and I only paid for the 2 day shipping which was $14.99. The AT&T site wanted 199.00 minus $50.00 for this phone with no accessories.
Wirefly.com threw in a car charger and a headset at no additional charge, all of which showed up with my order.
Overall a great experience and I won't hesitate to try them again in the near future."
"I just used WireFly.com to switch from T-Mobile wireless, to Sprint PCS. I placed my order this morning on Sept 13th at 5:01:21AM, by 4:00PM my order was shipped via FedEX 2nd day. Due to arrive tomorrow (Sept 14th). When I signed up with T-Mobile, it took a week before my account was set up, then another three days before my phone was shipped! Sprint PCS took much less time, and WireFly aided that process. So my opinion is that WireFly is a good web site to buy cell phone plans from. Sprint is a great company, because I have dealt with them before! They are worth the $200 dollar early termination fee that I have to pay T-Mobile to get out of my contract. I am never going to switch from Sprint PCS again! Great American company!

"Part I:
WireFly made a big mistake on my order (of $600) and I tried hard to correct it, but it's impossible to talk with anyone there who will take the responsibility to do anything about it. I WOULD cancel my order if I had any faith that I'd get my money back. So now, after hours of trying to communicate with them and failing, I'll just suffer the inconvenience and accept the shipment WAY LATE, after the time I wanted to use the phones.
IF you decide to deal with this company, make tripple sure they have your order right before you hang up, because after that you'll never be able to find anyone there who will actually help you. The people there have no power or desire to help.
This is the second review I've ever given to any establishment on the Internet. The first one was just a moment ago at Epinions about this company. I will never deal with them again.
Part II:
Last night I found a way to communicate with the Wirefly people, through their WhereIsMyOrder.com website (you've got to drill way down to find the page that allows you to send them a note), and I told them about the problem and that I was going to write a bad review to ResellerRatings.com and Epinions.com, etc, if they didn't fix the problem. So, I did. (Part I above) The next day, just a moment ago, Corporate (Telephona???) called me saying they received my message, and that they were going to fix the problem by sending me the three phones by Overnight Fed Express. I have therefore changed my opinion of this company, and I may consider doing business with them again. If you do business with them just be sure you know they got your order right in the first place.
PartIII: I got the phones as promised, but they had the wrong SIMs in and this took time and trips to resolve.
PartIV: They may have charged me twice. Stay tuned."
"I tried to cancel my order on-line and was directed to call. No one accepted the call and all I got was a recording. I have been trying to cancel my order for five days. I believe the poor website and recordings are intentional in order to prevent people from canceling their order by a certain time. I will not buy from wirefly ever again."
"This company is horrible. Sure, they make the ordering process easy enough. But that's where ALL of the customer service ends. I placed my order on 6/24. Over a week later, I hadn't received the phone. Lo and behold, they make locating their customer service phone number almost impossible. I had to call like I was ordering a new phone, and ask that salesman what the phone number was for customer service. Their website said my account was still awaiting approval from Verizon before my phone could be shipped. I called July 1st and waited several minutes to speak to someone. That person said they were sorry, but that my phone was still in the wearhouse. She said they would ship it 2nd Day Air and I would receive an email shortly confirming that.
Like you can imagine, I received ZERO emails. So, now it's July 6. I'm on the phone with their customer service rep, and lo and behold, MY PHONE IS STILL IN THEIR WEARHOUSE!!!!!
Oh, but they have a problem now cancelling my order. Because I'm now a Verizon customer. So if they don't ship me my phone, and I go to Verizon, I will have to pay more for my phone because they will consider me a returning customer.
This company if a flat joke. Any company which hides their customer service as much as this one does, makes it nearly impossible to get customer satisfaction, is a pure ripoff. I don't care what sort of deal you find with these jokers. If you take the chance by dealing with them, be aware that you may lose more money, in addition to huge inconvenice, in the long run."
"Single word -TERRIBLE- Avoid them like the plague!
I waited for 7 days for my order. (Called 2 times to confirm that everything was ok in that time) after 7 days they told me that my order was cancelled because of my request!!!
When i told them i never did such a thing they told me I need to SEND IN A HARD COPY OF MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. I am not looking to meet a corporate stalker so why should I sent in such personal information to a company who cant do their job! They didn't even apolohize and acted as if the whole thing was my fault."
"Customer Service is Terrible...
I ordered 2 phones on wirefly.com because the prices were cheap, and the website was well written and easy to use. However, when I ordered the phones they made an error and activated and ported my number that same day. So now my original cell phone doesn't work because the number was ported to the new phone sitting in some UPS truck.
So I've been stuck without a cell phone for 4 days and counting. Since it is my primary form of communication, I have been greatly inconvenienced.
Also the email said the number would be ported 2 days after the expected arrival date. When I pointed this out to customer service, I didn't even get an apology. Plus there is no 800 number or even a toll number. Just webform email which takes 2 business days to respond.
My advice is if you really can only find a good price there than don't have them do the number porting. After you get the phone, call up your carrier and do it yourself. "
