"Stay away if you want to keep your sanity.
I tried placing an order with them for 2 phones. The online part went as expected. In fact, as long as you have a very basic order with no issues, they may be ok to deal with.
However, heaven help you if you need to speak to "customer support". I calculated that I spent over 2 hours on hold the first day, and 30 minutes the next.
I knew there was an error on the order after I got my confirmation email. I immediately picked up the phone and tried to fix it. I was on hold 45 minutes and it took less than 2 minutes to fix.
Then at the end of the day, I decided to check the status of the order. I had not gotten any further emails. It said it was held up and needed my input. Why didn't anyone contact me? Was I suppose to wait until it never showed up?
Their website says they are open 8AM-9PM and provide only one number to call. I called and after an hour on hold, hung up. I then called the Sales line. They are in a different state and are not able to do anything but take new orders. Then they told me customer support was only open until 5PM.
At this point I knew I made the wrong choice. So I called them this morning and after 25 minutes on hold, cancelled the order. I complained about the lack of service and they did not seem to care at all.
I'll never do business with them again. "
"I tried to get my $270 worth of rebates and was told by customer service that they could not help me. Wirefly hired an Indian customer service group. The first line person and supervisor said the same thing. We can only do what the forms tell us. The Manager doesn't talk to customers. The phone was a great deal till I couldn't get my rebate. I've learned my lesson online with slezoids. I thought I did my home work. I've learned."
"Here's my experience and take. Wirefly does have "good prices" (see EDIT below) and sure with 3 phones ordered 2 seprate times, all eventually consolidated to one AT&T family plan as AT&T Wireless was bought out by Cingular, there were some hoops to go through to make this happen. I remember saying to the sales person taking my phone order "You guys don't have good reseller ratings" which I casually looked at before I started lusting after the Audiovox SMT 5600 (an HTC product with Microsoft OS- world's smallest smartphone) for $175.00 each, throwing caution to the wind as I ordered the phones. To be fair everything worked out to this point, and I love the phones (though I'd go back to Verizon in a heartbeat with the right phone or PDA phone on their ED-VO net, which is not availiable in my locale.) The sales person, unofended, was polite and made things happen, as did the AT&T Wireless people later- rest their corporate souls.
So now "between 180 and 210 days later" (ha ha) I'm reading the fine print on the Inphonics rebate forms, and checking out this site and ripoffreport.com and there's just no way I'll submit for those rebates with a disclaimer like that. At best an exercise in frustration (Does anybody get their rebate? Why no posts here?) and at worst another $150.00 per phone charge, which seems very likey if there were plan changes like mine, or other errata, left to their interpretation. What a F#@(!n (to quote Limp Bizkit "come on legal") scam!
BOTTOM LINE: WIREFLY A CAUTIOUS YES, I might buy again, but SCREW INPHONICS- they smell crooked, and count the rebate out. EDIT: You know, now that I think of it, Wirefly is in bed with Inphonics- just play the game your way, not their's.
Thanks to you people who took the time to post here- and vent! :)(me pats meself on the back.)
Done. "
"I placed the order on Thursday and immediately received the email that the order was received. The website advertise that orders are shipped in 24 after the credit check.
The credit check was approved same day. I check the oder status for next 5 days and there was NO change in order status.
It said that the phone I selected is in "hi demand" and they where looking for additional inventory. 5 days later I sent them an email asking whats the status of the order and when can I expect the phone. Did not received any repply, but when I checked the status it now said "Customer auction required" and a phone number to call. I called the number talk to a guy in customer service and he said it will take 5 more days to find the phone... Called the next day to cancel the order was told that the have the phone and it needs to be activated and will be shipped in 24 to 48 hours. Canceled the order.
Do not place on order with them if:
1) Expect to receive you phone quickly.
2) Do not like giving personal information to some guy in india or where ever the call center is.

"Does anyone know what the customer service number is to this place if I have to talk to one more person from India whom does not understand basic english i'm going to scream!!!!"
"Days go by, yet no product is shipped. I can think of 101 more enjoyable ways to waste my time. I would like to summarize my experience in a short poem:
unfun waste of time
impotent, incompotent
swat this stinky fly"
"The rebate never comes due to various bogus reasons. They are experts to creat any reason. NEVER BUY FROM THEM."
"After I placed my order, I found that my order was cancelled. The "whereismyorder.com" indicated that I cancelled the order, but I never did it. I placed order 2 more times, but same thing happened. Then I found next day that the changed the contract term from 1 year to 2 years. I found there are many people who had the same experience. They cheated on customers. "

I really should have done some research & come by a few of these forums earlier. Hindsight is always 20/20 =(. Seems I got luckier than half of the posters I've read up on, I wasn't charged for my phone from Inphonic & then not receive the rebate. I'm one of the ones that was in compliance for the $50 rebate which I keep getting turned down with false reasons for, "outstanding balance" on my cell bills & "past the 120 day period from service activation in order to get the rebate". On both counts, I've all the documentation from my purchase in 3/30/04 that clearly states otherwise, in print. They've got my cell activation as 4/2/04, but my phone was not activated until 4/22/04, clearly printed on my statements. They claim that my postmarked paperwork for the rebate request of 8/12/04 is not valid...the 2nd turn down for the rebate as of 4/8/05. I had to call back to get names of those I spoke with & when asked why I needed it, I relayed that I needed to contact the BBB & FCC over this. Then the rep said she was printing this last tidbit of what I was about to do into my file. I just finished filing a complaint to both the BBB & FCC earlier. I hope people will be justified for this kind of advertising/sales from Inphonic =(. I urge any of you to file complaints as I did, then contact your carriers...they'll want to know how they're being represented through a company like this. Enough calls of complaints may result in your carriers pulling out of affiliations with companies like these. BTW, Wirefly's # is 1-***-***-****, Inphonics # is 1-***-***-****, fax is 1-***-***-****. Wirefly's reps got tired of me & finally gave me Inphonic's #.

"I searched around for a good deal on cell phones. I came across Wirefly and it looked like a fine deal.
I placed an order for 2 Motorola V551 phones. I received an email which stated that I needed to call customer service in order to complete my order. I tried but the offices were closed. I decided to opt out and to try somewhere else. I never tried to call them again.
Two days later I received another email which stated that my phones had been shipped. Well, I was pretty confused and wanted to call but couldn't find the number to customer service. The order status page had changed and did not include the number at that point. The phones arrived about 4 days after placing the order with the accessories included, even though it was stated that the accessories would arrive seperately.
The phones arrived already activated and, according to my bill which arrived almost immediately from Cingular for a whopping $169.xx, with 24 minutes use already on them. The bill also included a $20.00 charge for basic media, an option I did NOT choose when placing the order, but which Wirefly's website constantly filled in for me everytime I clicked on anything else. The accessories I was promised were all screwed up. I didn't receive the belt clips, the in-car chargers were not for these phones, and the earbuds are of the cheapest quality.
I sent them several emails via their website and never received a response. Additionally, it was my understanding that the phones cost about $50.00 each with a 2 year agreement, but my card was charged $300.00. I didn't mind so much as I received 4 rebate coupons for $75.00 each. However, after reading all the stipulations for the rebates I discovered that I had to wait 180 days to even send them in and that it could take an additional 2 to 3 months to receive the rebates, plus I had to send in a copy of a sales receipt, something you do NOT get when placing an on-line order. However, the last email I received about my order reminded me to send in the rebate coupons within 30 days of activation. Confused is a total understatement.
Wirefly is a Cingular authorized dealer so I called Cingular. They disclaim any responsibility for Wirefly whatsoever and stated that Wirefly is an independent agent and that they can do what they want. I hung up on the CSR at Cingular before I got really nasty. He seemed totally disinterested in what I had to say anyway.
I called the toll free number I found in part of the web address at Wirefly and got connected to some guy in India. (I am so sick of talking to guys in India.) I eventually hung up on that guy as well after he told me to call back in a few days.
Wirefly offers a money back guarantee if the phones are returned in "original condition" and at my expense for UPS. However, you have to request a return authorization number. I did so today. I did so days ago with no reply, but without the Return Authorization request header in the subject line. I am waiting to see what happens.
So far my experience with Wirefly has been confusing and horrible. To summarize, I was charged too much. I have to wait about 9 months to receive a rebate even though the email said mail them in within 30 days. The phones came activated (with instruction on how to activate them since they wouldn’t arrive activated) with minutes on them and with wrong or missing accessories, and I have received absolutely no replies to my emails from Wirefly.
I have disputed the charges with my credit card company and the investigation is pending. However, the investigation takes 6 to 8 weeks to resolve and there goes my 30 days money back guarantee, plus the possibility that my rebates cannot be exercised outside the 30 day window, assuming the email I received is correct and the rebate coupons were wrong. I've only had these phones about 10 days, have been fighting to get these issues resolved for most of that time, and I am totally disgusted. I mean, I'm soon to be out nearly $500.00 within about a 2 week period for service and for phones that were supposed to be essentially free.

"My purchase process went smooth enough, but here I am, waiting months for a $150 dollar rebate. The letter finally came today, and guess what....I've been denied my rebate. They claim that my postmark does not fall within the timeframe included on the form, when in fact I sent the form in on the 15th of December, 16 days before the deadline of December 31st! Stay away, you won't get what you signed up for."
"WARNING: DO NOT BE LURED BY LOW PRICE AFTER THEIR MAIL-IN REBATES. THEY DONT GIVE IT TO YOU AT ALL. EVEN THE CELLPHONE COMPANY DO NOT HONOR THE MAIL IN REBATE FORM YOU GOT FROM WIREFLY.
bought a cellphone WITH A PLAN from them and was attracetd to the price especially after all the mail in rebates you get.. the funny part, after i submitted the mail-in rebate forms to t-mobile i found out that it is not valid because according to t-mobile, the phone was bought at a time when rebates were not given. THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD WIREFLY ADVERTISE ALL THESE REBATES WHEN TMOBILE ARE NOT GIVING IT TO BEGIN WITH?!??!
and thats just not it.. i also filled out the rebate form "CUSTOMER LOYALTY MAIL-N REBATE" which comes from wirefly. Thye will ask you of three months bills STATING YOU HAVE PAID THREE MONTHS OF THE SRVICE and reciepts to go with the rebate form plus all other papers which means you have to wait for FOUR months before you can send your form. And of course you already know what happened.. after i sent it to them, a few weeks later i got a mail saying i dont qualify for the rebate because they do not offer the rebate at the time i bought the item.. but then again WHY THE HELL DID THEY TELL ME THAT THESE ARE THE REBATES I WILL GET AND THE PRICE WILL BE THIS LOW AFTER REBATE WHEN THEY ARE NOT OFFEREING TO GIVE THE REBATE TO BEGIN WITH?!?!? I EVEN CALLED THEIR COSTUMER SERVICE TO ASK ABOUT THESE REBATES AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING THAT WAS WRITTEN ON THE WEBSITES.. YOU WILL GET ALL THESE REBATES..
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE: THEY ARE LURING YOU INTO BUYING FROM THEM THINKING YOU WILL GET YOUR REBATE AND END UP PAYING LESS ONLY TO FIND OUT LATER THAT THEY WILL NOT GIVE IT TO YOU!! SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BUY FROM THIS SCUMBUGS THINK AGAIN... ITS NOT WORTH IT.. OTHER STORES WILL OFFER YOU BETTER PRICE AND ACTUALLY GIVE YOU THE REBATES THEY PROMISED..
WIREFLY, YOU SUCK!! "
"I purchased 2 cell phones under a faimly plan and didn't receive my travel chargers for either phone. I have e-mailed and called several (many, many) times being told they would correct the mistake but they haven't. Now I can't get a live person on the phone. A recording said they will call me back but they don't."
"I was worried after I read some of the ratings here, but in the end this were just fine. They did require me to fax/email a copy of my social security card and drivers license, but once they received it, everything went smoothly. They do use an outsourced customer service department, but the CS reps are very helpful."
"Buyers beware.
I think wirefly current situation just summarize in one little but very important detail: they have removed their phone number from the web site.
I've bought my phones (family plan, 2 lines, 2 phones) 2 weeks ago and I have only received one. What's the point?????
It's impossible to know what is going on with the other one. No answer to email and no phone number on the site. I had to submit my credit card multiple times and I still don't know what the charges are for.
The activation date of my line was even before they shipped the first phone, so there goes the 3 days return policy...
They sure have good prices but I hope I can get out of this asap. "
