"i ordered Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone(Verizon) from wirefly on 31st Dec 2011. They never told me that they are going to activate it on 31st Dec 2011. And in fact they were not even knowing that they will activate this 4G/LTE device the moment they put the SIM card in the phone and power it up. I received this phone on 5th Jan 2012 and then i need to get it activated as it was not working. In the meanwhile during 31st Dec 2012 to 5th Jan 2012-my area code got changed from 609 to 732. 732 is the right area code and not 609. In fact i have verizon phone at home and the area code is 732 for that.
Unfortunately it seems Verizon is charging me for those 5 days(prior to 5th Jan 2012) for the 609 number which i never used it as the phone never reached me before 5th Jan 2012. this is unfair and the charges should be removed from my account. Verizon infact charged me for change of mobile number which Wirefly customer service never told me. I was told by Wirefly not to contact Verizon otherwise i will loose all my discounts from them and moreover i need to pay penalties also.
I have to spend close to 4 hours to do follow ups with Wirefly and then Verizon to get the mobile phone number fees being waived off.
Is it reasonable to activate the phone on customer's behalf and should the customer be charged when the phone is being shipped to them??
I saw clear lack of interest from Customer service from Wirefly during follow ups. The attitude was more like we have sold the phone-we are 3rd party and we can't do anything. It's frustrating and waste of time dealing with them. I bought the very first phone with them during 2005. Now i will never recommend them to anybody nor i will return back. Yes they have discounts over Verizon store but lots of headache-in the long run-it's going to cost more.
Moreover they activated my phone 5 days in advance before it can reach to me-so i couldn't get a chance to return this phone to verizon as i should have done it in the very first 14 days. The first phone was faulty and then i need to get it exchanged also-wasted good amount of time. Galaxy nexus is a good phone-but it has two major issues-very bad battery life(doesn't last more than 4 hours) and signal is also an issue. If Wirefly won't have screwed me up-i could have returned this phone back to verizon.
Really very bad experience with Wirefly
Thanks Stephen for reaching out to me and resolving this issue. It took good amount of my time to get it resolved but i appreciate that you folks care about the customer.
I bought this phone at $229.99 and now in less than 30 days it's being sold on the website at $99.99. Is there any lowest price guaranty being offered by Wirefly. Amazon Wirelss is selling it for $99.99 for the last 2 weeks.
Reviewing this for the last time:
Finally i worked only with Stefan and was able to exchange it to Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. This company will be far better if they have everybody like Stefan who cares for customer and considerate rather than make money overnight. I made two exchanges in the span of 35 days(Stefan extended the trial for 5-7 days more keeping in mind ambiguous activation policy of Wirefly) with Wirefly because Samsung Galaxy Nexus sucks(really sucks the battery). Other folks in Wirefly gives hard time-discourage you not to send the phone back for exchange and scare you with all possible consequences.
Wirefly needs to improve upon these:
1) Smooth exchange policy.
2) Match their price with Amazon - they are selling it far less than Wirefly.
3) Lowest price match guaranty like Costco for 90 days. New Android phones gets cheaper by almost 60% within a 1-2 months kind of time frame.
4) Customer service is horrible-very bad phone line and folks who are attending the phone calls has poor english sense. Folks on the chat are 100% clueless.
5) No guesses about phone activation-consistent activation policy-no need to activate the phone...let customer do it...if you activate it and send it to customer...you are eating up almost 5 days of the time - Verizon and all the carriers gives 14 days to cancel the connection. You activate on day 1 and phone reaches on day6 - almost 5 days are wasted in this activation. And more over out of 3 phones - one came activated and two other were not activated - why is it so?
I am thankful to Stefan but little advice to remaining customer...go to Costco-you will get better price-better terms and conditions and you have the lowest price gurranty for 90 days plus exchaging the phone is very very easy. Wirefly saves 15-20% but it's a lot of headache in terms of follow ups...their customer service is really bad with one exception - Stefan.

"I do not have anything good to say about Wirefly. I'm not writing this review because I had a bad experience with them. People have bad experiences everyday, things happen. But Wirefly irritates their customers with their policies and do not have the business savy to adjust when they are at fault. I purchased a phone from them using one of their representatives. Due to the phone connection or the representatives lack of command of the english language, she sent me a phone I did not want, after telling her through out the conversation at least nine times the phone I did want. Needless to say she sent the phone I guess she wanted me to have instead of the phone I requested. Once I noticed the wrong phone was ordered, I immediately called them to alert them that the wrong phone was being sent. They told me to return the phone and at which time they received the phone they would ship me out the correct one. I told them that this was their representatives bad and that I could not continue to go more time without a phone because of the work that I do. Wirefly sent me through days of lies and false promises about how they would expedite me a phone over night, how they were waiting for approval from upper level people to ok another phone being ship out, how they couldn't ship out another phone until the other arrived returned; contradicting the promise to overnite the correct phone etc...etc.... All the while I had paid for the original phone I requested. They held on to my money, did not send me a new phone and prevented me from getting a new phone through my carrier because they would not cancel the extended contract they put me on because they said they had not received the returned phone. Mind you they had a tracking # for the return. I'm becoming stressed just thinking about my experience with Wirefly. Because I could not continue to wait on wirefly to send a phone nor wait on them to receive the phone that was returned, I had an old phone in my possesion that I turned on with my carrier. I had been using that phone for five days until the exchange phone was sent. Mind you I had now gone 8 days without a phone. I'm at work using my phone and it stops working suddenly. I call my carrier and they inform me that wirefly had shut down my service and activated the phone they had sent leaving me at work with a non-operative phone. When I contacted wirefly to ask them why they had deactivated the phone I was using the Manager Stephan in turn asked me why didnt I activate the phone they sent? WHAT DOES IT MATTER AND WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!? I told him that I worked until late in the evening and was not home to receive the package and that it was none of his business why I didn't activate the phone. The question that should be answered is by what authority do you DEACTIVATE THE PHONE I am using rendering me unable to perform my job duties at work?! It is amazing how throughout all the trouble and inconvience Wirefly has caused me they have not sought to compensate me my frustration, time, money, and a host of other inconveniences. I even had to call and inform them that they did not deliver the accessories I paid for and that they need to credit my card the amounts. At this point I truly believe they are deliberately trying to berate me. I have read other customers comments and they all seem favorable. You would think they would try to make me happy instead of continually upset me. I have one word for Wirefly;: INCOMPETENT!!"

"Wirefly delivered my Samsung Galaxy Nexus quickly. I saved $70 buying the phone from Wirefly instead of Verizon. The phone arrived in new condition, and I am currently enjoying it. The only thing I didn't like was that the phone box was in a larger box without adequate padding. It could easily be knocked around in the bigger box. "We recently purchased two Droid Bionic 4G Smartphones. To insure we kept our existing rate plans with Verizon, we called Wirefly to place our order. The Wirefly representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. Because we called on a Sunday, we were directed to call on Monday morning to push through a Verizon sequencing issue. This was done quickly and with no issues. Our phones arrived promptly two days later. Activating the phones was problematic, but the Wirefly customer service representative was diligent and worked in tandem with the activation department to help us. When unable to help, he placed a 3-way call to Verizon and stayed on the line until our phones were up and running. This purchase was the second we have made with Wirefly, and we highly recommend their services. The prices can't be beat, and the customer service is excellent."

"Wirely was very easy to deal with. The prices and selections were much better than verizon online as well as other verizon dealers. Delivery of the phone was fast. Phone sales staff were helpful; however when I had questions regarding my order, I could not reach a live consumer serice representative who could answer my question.
